Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om och hur nyliberalismen återspeglas och reproduceras i svensk press, detta i samband med utförsäljningen av den svenska sjukvården. Vi har undersökt två sjukvårdsdebatter under två olika tidsperioder för att få syn på hur ord och idéer förmedlas i den språkliga diskursen i de undersökta tidningarna. För att få svar på våra frågor har vi använt oss av kvantitativ textanalys och kvalitativ diskursanalys.Den kvantitativa undersökningen består i att räkna förekomsten av orden upphandling, konkurrens, effektivitet, kund, vinst, marknad och valfrihet/valmöjlighet i sammanlagt 120 artiklar, sorterade efter relevans i sökverktyget Retriever. Debatterna som undersökts är den om Husläkarlagen (1990?1997) och den rörande Carema vårdbolag (2006?2013).

Därför valdes en kvalitativ ansats för studien. Intervjuer genomfördes med fem kvinnor och en man ifrån Utbildningsförvaltningen i Halmstad kommun. Intervjuerna visade att alla intervjupersonerna i undersökningen känner stressrelationer mellan arbetsliv och hem- och familjeliv.

This essay is about democracy and how a democracy index can be used as a tool to illustratethe gap between reality and ideal. The purpose of this study can be expressed by two researchquestions: Does the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) democracy index illustrate thedistance between reality and the ideal of democracy presented by Dahl? and Can the EIU'sdemocracy index be modified by a) internal adjustments and b) using the variables includedin World Economic Forum?s (WEF) equality index?By using a combination of theories (Dahl?s theory of democracy, Rawls theory of justice andchosen theories critical to liberal democracy) as an analytical framework the following twoquestions have been answered:1) Which of the variables included in the EIU's democracy index have the potential to capturethe level of political equality?2) Which of the variables included in the WEF?s equality index have the potential to capturethe degree of political equality?By using a quantitative method the study?s third and last question has been answered:3) How strong is the rank correlation between the EIU?s democracy index and the WEF?sequality index, that is; how strong is the rank correlation coefficient (rho)?The data presented by the WEF?s equality index indicate that women are systematicallydiscriminated against as a group. En av miljöredovisningens uppgifter är att sätta press på företagen att följa gällande miljölagstiftning samt uppmärksamma allmänheten om pro-blemet så att de därigenom har tillräcklig kunskap om företagen och deras verksamhet för att kunna göra genomtänkta val. För att utveckla företagens sociala ansvar och bidra till en högre medvetenhet inom fö-retaget och bland intressenter har även personalfrågor inkluderats som obligatorisk information som ska lämnas i förvaltningsberättelsen.Syfte:Att beskriva och förklara i vilken utsträckning som tillståndspliktiga bo-lag i Jönköpings län följer aktuell lagstiftning och normgivning avseen-de miljöinformation och personalfrågor i förvaltningsberättelsen.Metod:En kvantitativ studie genomfördes på 199 tillståndspliktiga företag i Jönköpings län. This masters thesis concerns the professional knowledge of the librarian. It is a comparative study where two major ma-gazines in library press, Biblioteksbladet and DIK-forum, is compared between the years 1990-2000, in relation to the theories of professionalization and the associations to the union. The study focus on showing the differences and similarities between the two magazines according to how they interact from the subjects education, wages and status. The study is conducted from two questions: - Which are the central differences and similarities in the description of the librarian profession in the two magazines, from the perspectives of wage, status and education? - In what way do the two magazines reflect the theories of professionalization? Alkoholreklam är ett hett omdebatterat område. Det finns de som anser att all alkoholreklam skall vara förbjuden och de som önskar en mer liberal alkoholreklamregler. Sverige har, efter ett mål i EG-domstolen (Gourmet) varit tvungna att lätta upp sina regler då de ansågs bryta mot fri rörlighet av varor och tjänster. Marknadsdomstolen som gjorde proportionalitetsbedömningen ansåg att Sveriges annonseringsförbud var alltför långtgående och därför infördes en 15 volymprocentgräns för alkoholreklam. Denna gräns är dock diffust motiverad i förarbeten och propositioner.

The aim of this Master thesis has been to analyse the debateon Wikileaks as it occured in the Swedish daily press during2010 and early 2011, as well as to identify what differentdiscourses influenced the discussions. The empirical materialconsisted of fifty-three articles, taken from three nationalnewspapers and has been analysed using the discourseanalysis theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. Thearticles were analysed in four stages which included:identifying statements concerning Wikileaks and itsoperations; identifying additional groups and individualsappearing in the debate and the statements made about these;grouping statements into themes and on the basis of thesethemes construct chains of equivalence and identify subjectpositions. The last stage consisted of identification ofdiscourses and the relationships and possible conflictsbetween those discourses. The results showed that fourdiscourses could be identified: the good democracydiscourse, the traditional diplomatic discourse, the goodjournalism discourse and the power-critical discourse..

This essay examines the role religion plays in kindergarten. Today, the Swedish kindergarten provides child care for a secular and multicultural society where religion is considered a private matter that should not influence government nor the policy documents of kindergarten and elementary school. According to a study by Jenny Berglund, there is a so-called Protestant bias present in the Swedish elementary school.
