The official Swedish interpretation of the concept of citizenship is based on the social-liberal concept of citizenship. According to feminist critique, this interpretation of the concept contains male norms that lead to the exclusion of several groups from full citizenship. There is also a corresponding feminist critique which holds that in the womens´ movement and gender research there are strong norms as well, especially in the form of ethnocentrism. Also, the image of immigrant women in public debate is being questioned and the critics here raise the question of the responsibility of the society for integration. Swedish research on citizenship has focused very little on the situation of immigrant women, and this essay aims at helping to fill this empirical gap.

The main purpose of this essay is to study ideas concerning the concept of ?art? within the discourse of the exhibition space that is part of a fanart community. In order to do so I have used a hermeneutical and to some extent structuralistic, discourse analysis. I have examined structure and rhetorics in two established and popular communities, Fanart-Central and deviantART.My conclusions states that personal ideas regarding artistic value are undermined the joint policies, because of a collective rhetoric somewhat inherent in the community structure.When a lot of works are being based on internal knowledge of symbolics and historical narratives, this may to some extent have consequences where unfamiliar observers might fail to notice elements of possible significance. Moreover, certain interests in keeping a united front of ?quality art? may also affect a general idea immediate to what signifies fanart.

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis ist to analyze the idea progress in the party programs in the swedish Centre-party during the time 1910-1959. The progress in the party program is compared with the evolution of society during the same period.The bachelor´s aim is also to analyze how each new program is described in newspapers, two newspapers were chosen to make the comparison; Arbetet (a social-democratic newspaper), and Skånska Dagbladet (a centre-party newspaper). The result shows that the party in the beginning was conservative and against both capitalism and socialism. The start of the party was a reaction against the new electionsystem which was introduced in Sweden in 1909.The party took a clear standpoint for the Swedish farmers, but after 1933, they were standing for the whole countryside. In the 1940´s and the 1950´s the party became more like a social liberal party rather than an agrarian party only for the farmers.The party programs are not given much space in the two newspapers.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how health care providers, working at care facilities providing maintenance treatment programs for opiate dependence, perceive and manage the legal framework governing the treatment. The study is limited to a few particular rules within this framework which over the recent decade have been the subject matter of debate regarding i.a. their alleged lack of relation to scientific research and their frequently disastrous implications for program participants. The empirical material consists of interviews with five respondents working at four different care facilities and has been analyzed by using Lipskys theory on street-level bureaucrats as policymaking agents. The results of the study show that the rules are looked upon and dealt with in a liberal fashion and that the primary loyalty of the maintenance treatment staff is clearly directed towards promoting the well-being of their patients and helping them reach their treatment goals rather than strictly following the rules..

In this final thesis a rough description of aluminium extrusion is made, the importance of temperature of both the raw material and the extruded profile for a good profile quality. The difficulty in controlling these temperatures are discussed and attempts to increase the control are described. The attempts are basically made by controlling the furnace that is heating the raw material. This is done in a manner that the raw material reaches its final temperature shortly before it is extruded. An IR-camera at the press can be used for profile temperature measurements.

I denna studie undersöks svensk storstadspress representation av fenomenen fildelning och upphovsrätt. Fenomenen är en del av en pågående debatt kring Internets utveckling och reglering, inte sällan ingår begreppen då man talar om integritet och informationsfrihet. Politiska beslut tas som har juridiska påföljder, dessa påverkar människors vardag.Syftet med denna studie är att se hur diskurser, sätt att tala om, förstå och konstituera fenomen, ser ut och formar representationen av fenomenen i pressen. Press och media har stora maktpositioner i samhället, som granskare av makten och som frambringare av information till allmänheten. Utifrån objektivitets- och neutralitetsideal arbetar journalister med dagliga arbetsrutiner.

För att nå uppsatsens syfte har vi utgått från tre teman; myndighetsutövning, lagstiftning/riktlinjer och organisationen.Metoden för studien utgår från en kvalitativ ansats där ett hermeneutiskt angreppssätt har tillämpats för att tolka resultatet. Vi intervjuade sju biståndshandläggare från samma arbetsplats i Halmstads kommun. Syftet med intervjuerna var att gå på djupet och få en inblick i biståndshandläggarnas personliga uppfattningar och tankesätt och utifrån detta hitta och förstå mönster i handläggarnas tankeverksamhet.

The marketing campaign ?Låna dig rik? [Get rich by lending] involved 25 public libraries in three regions; Kronoberg, Kalmar and Blekinge. This paper examines 28 news-articles concerning this campaign, found in eight publications in the responding regions. The purpose of this is to determine to what extent the description of the campaign found therein responded to the intents of its founders and to what extent the public had a say in these articles. The result found indicates that the overall image of the campaign presented in the news-articles was well in correspondence with the intents of the campaign itself but that the public views where arguably absent..

Landet har en lång historia av invandring och det är en viktig del av landets ekonomi. Kanada tar årligen emot omkring 260 000 invandrare. Knappt hälften av invandrarna väljer att bosatta sig i mångmiljonstaden Toronto.

Since 1999 Sweden have a law that criminalises the person who buys sexual services instead of criminalising the one who is selling, which in most cases is a woman. Seven years has passed since this law took place and in this study we aim to investigate what kind of help the society offer women in Malmö, Sweden, who wishes to step out of prostitution. Our aim with this study is also to look at the attitudes among citizens towards the new law and prostitution. The research is qualitative and all the six persons we interviewed has knowledge about the problems the women are facing when they want to step out of prostitution. To explane and analyse the answers we are using the theory of empowerment, labelling theory, the theory of gender socialisation and Jürgen Habermas theory of the lifeworld.The most significant outcome of this study shows a positive result in regard of the laws effectiveness in diminishing street-prostitution to half of what i t was before the law was put into practice.

I denna c-uppsats i statsvetenskap studerade vi den svenska statens agerande mot minoritetsgrupperna samer och tornedalingar. Studien syftade till att jämföra statens agerande mot samer och tornedalingar ur ett medborgarskapsperspektiv. De frågeställningar som studien behandlade studerade om staten fört en generell politik mot samer och tornedalingar eller om politiken sett olika ut för de två grupperna. Vidare undersökte uppsatsen vad det svenska medborgarskapet innebär för samer och tornedalingar. Uppsatsen använde sig främst av Will Kymlickas teorier kring det mångkulturella medborgarskapet för att belysa och analysera statens agerande.

I samarbete med Veidekke Skåne har vi gjort en studie om företagets internkommunikation. Veidekke Skåne har sitt huvudkontor i Lund och ingår i den norska byggkoncernen Veidekke ASA. Företaget har funnits i Skåne i fem år och växer hela tiden. Vår intention har varit att kartlägga intern- kommunikationen och ta reda på hur den fungerar. Vi har också velat belysa på vilket sätt villkoren ändras för internkommunikationen när företaget expanderar.

Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union a lot of hope has been put on civil society to help develop Russia into a more democratic society. This study explores the constructive elements in the relationship between civil society and the state in Russia, and how this enables the work toward political development. By using Julie Fishers theory about political development and organisational autonomy I discuss the varying and often complex ways in which civil society and the state interacts. These are often not mentioned in the liberal tradition, which believes that civil society's most important democratic function is to act as a watchdog for the state.There is very limited political space for NGO's in authoritative Russia. The existing oppositional NGO's are important for the political development, but they are few and their impacts on society are limited.

The subject this thesis will investigate concerns the matter of how political ideologies exist within public libraries with a focus on the democratic ideal. Public libraries are part of the political system and we want to show how political ideologies take their shape in public libraries and the possible consequences of this. With the help of three major political ideologies, liberalism, conservatism and socialism we investigate how the democratic ideals of these ideologies are expressed in documents that describes activities the libraries will and have performed. In order to identify these ideologies we use discourses in cultural policy as a bridge between the investigated documents and the political ideologies. As an analytical tool we have developed a model that describes the relation between text, discourse and ideology which we use in our analysis.
