Informationshantering hos personer med läs- och skrivsvårigheter och dyslexi : Hur personer med läs- och skrivsvårigheter och dyslexi hanterar och bearbetar information i arbetslivet

The purpose of this study has been to investigate how individuals with reading- and writing disabilities and dyslexia handle their information need in the workplace. The method that has been used is a qualitative study made with interviews with individuals who have these problems, to see how they think and feel about the flow of information on their everyday basis. The study?s respondents are working women between the ages of 27 and 47 years old and they have reading- and writing disabilities and dyslexia. The most interesting results of this study are that the respondents are avoiding jobs where they need to read and write much and where they also do not like changes in their job situation.

In this degree project I have studied how an anti-discrimination bureau can adapttheir online information to the target group ? immigrants who only have modestunderstanding of the Swedish language. This group is often subject of discriminationmatters, and therefore it?s important that they can take part of the information.To find answers to my questions I have studied different relevant theories, performeda readability analysis on the online information and have had qualitativeinterviews with representatives from the target group. I have also tested my rewrittentexts on both representatives and other readers.The result from my studies has shown that it is words that are the most difficult inthe current online information, while length and structure of the sentences are alsoof importance when it comes to the readability.

OPAC i moderna kläder ? en kvalitativ studie om olika generationers informationssökningsvanor och förväntningar på informationsåtervinningssystem

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find out how information seeking habits and experiences of people in different generations affects their expectations on information retrieval systems like OPAC. Two OPACs are used, one web-OPAC and one mobile-OPAC. The following questions are asked: how can theories about information seeking behaviors explain why and in which way one seeks information? In which way does information seeking behaviors and habits affect the experience of OPAC? Which differences and/or similarities can be found between the web-OPAC and the mobile-OPAC? How does generational aspects affect experiences and preferences in an information seeking context? The theoretical framework of the thesis is information retrieval with several models about information-seeking/searching needs and behaviors. The empirical data contains interviews with nine people in different generations and protocols about two different OPACs.

The purpose of our study is to find out, why inform about alcohol and if it is taken in a preventive aim. The purpose of this essay is to examine how high school students (age 13 to 19) search for information on the web and in databases. Furthermore, it aims to look into how critical of sources they are. The questions asked was: how the students search for information in digital media? Which kind of sources do the students use? How they evaluate the information they find? Do they get any education in information retrieval and source evaluation? To answer these questions students were interviewed in groups about their information retrieval behavior. Furthermore two school librarians were interviewed about their experience of the students? information retrieval.During the interviews it was clear that the students had received quite sparse instructions on the subjects of information retrieval and criticism of the sources.

ABSTRACT Background: The ward round is a collaboration between nurse, doctor and patient. A good collaboration and communication is essential to their interrelation. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate patients' comprehension in regard to integrity, information and participation during round. We also looked at differences about comprehension between men and women.  Methods: A questionnaire was answered by 34 patients in three wards at the University hospital in Uppsala. Results: The patients believed they could talk openly ?quite well? but they experienced it ?sometimes? disturbing to talk openly if other patients were in the room.

Förbättring av nybesöksprocessen för kortare patientväntetider

Den svenska sjukvården kommer under de kommande decennierna att ställas inför stora utmaningar. Patientbelastningen väntas öka till följd av en åldrande befolkning som till största del utgörs av den stora generationen av 40-talister. Situationen kommer att kunna bli synnerligen allvarlig då många av Sveriges sjukhus och mottagningar redan idag har långa patientköer som i många fall inte klarar av att leva upp till vårdgarantin på maximalt 90 dagars väntan från inkommen remiss till genomfört läkarbesök.De senaste åren har emellertid ett trendbrott kunnat skönjas. Många sjukhus har startat omfattande förbättringsprogram med målsättningen att nå högre effektivitet och kvalitet i verksamheten, däribland Skånes universitetssjukhus i Lund och Capio S:t Görans sjukhus i Stockholm. Förbättringsprogrammen har visat mycket goda resultat såsom kortare patient-köer, kortare väntetider, högre kvalitet i vårdresultaten samt större patientnöjdhet.

Preoperativ information och dess påverkan på föräldrarnas oro : En litteraturstudie

Syftet med studien var att beskriva olika preoperativa informationssätt och hur de påverkar föräldrarnas oro i samband med att deras barn genomgår en operation i generell anestesi. Metoden har utgjorts av en litteraturstudie där datamaterialet har bestått av 15 studier, beskrivande preoperativa informationssätt. Fyra huvudgrupper av informationssätt bildades: skriftlig, visuell, verbal och preoperativa förberedelseprogram. Därefter bildades underkategorier med faktorer som påverkar informationens förutsättningar: operationer, föräldra- och/eller barnanpassad information, barnets ålder, tidpunkt för information, övrig information. Studierna visar att preoperativ information kan minska föräldrarnas oro.
