Hur skiljer sig tids- och arbetseffektiviteten åt inom de två olika systemen?Syfte: Syftet med studien är att ta reda på om Lean, som från början var utvecklat för produktionssektorn, skulle kunna vara ett mer framgångsrikt system än HighWay för ett tjänsteföretag som konsultföretaget Hallvarsson & Halvarsson.Metod: Informationen har hämtats från vetenskaplig artiklar och litteratur samt internetsidor. Undersökningen bestod av två intervjuer, med system ägaren och VD på Hallvarsson & Halvarsson. Intervjuerna bestod av personliga möten.Slutsats: Förbättringsförslag för ökad effektivitet redovisas, där ett av förslagen är att HighWay skulle kunna införa en process- och kvalitetsövervakande roll med syfte att säkerställa ständigt och omedelbart förbättringsarbete för att uppnå perfektion likt Jidoka-principen..

Lean är ett koncept med människor i fokus som inkluderar dess tanke- och arbetssätt samt de metoder och verktyg som används. Problem kan dock uppstå ifall konceptets helhet inte implementeras, särskilt en förändring av tankesätt är det som medarbetare ofta motsätter sig. Vi ämnar därför utröna möjliga förutsättningar till hur en välvilja till förändring skapas samt hur systemet med lean förmedlas på ett sätt så att helhetsbilden framgår. En teoristudie används till att identifiera förutsättningar och en fallstudie förklarar nödvändigheten med de identifierade förutsättningarna. Förutsättningarna som uppdagades var engagemang och delaktighet från ledarskapet samtidigt som en medvetenhet kring helheten av lean behövs för att uppnå detta engagemang.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether the Swedish Institute of public health care uses paternalistic information in their alcohol publications. My intention has also been to examine to what extent the paternalistic information is being used. This is determined simply by how frequently paternalistic information is found in the publications. I chose to analyse five publications that contain alcohol related information and had a clear motive. My results show that all five publications use paternalistic methods with the intention to change readers, or people in their surroundings, alcoholic behaviour. Though this is quite a small essay, I have suggested extended research of the subject ? preferably of all 176 alcoholic publications presented by the Institute of public health care..

Background: Since the coining of the phrase lean production by Womack, Jones and Roos in 1990, this mass production system of Japanese origin has been implemented in a multitude of organizations throughout the world, the results being predominantly positive from a financial point of view. The possibly negative effects of mass production on worker motivation have been discussed since quality of work life became an important political issue in Sweden in the 1970?s. As the popularity of lean service is now increasing, there are still unresolved issues regarding the transferability of a mass production system to the service industry, particularly with regards to the motivation of service employees.Purpose: The purpose of our thesis is to study the lean system of a Swedish bank, SEB Way, from a management- as well as an employee perspective in order to describe how lean may affect the work motivation of service employees.Research procedure: The study is empirically based on observations and interviews on multiple hierarchical levels at SEB. We have conducted a total of 13 interviews with front line employees at SEB, with the central SEB Way team as well as two external lean specialists.Results: The study indicates that SEB Way has little direct influence on the intrinsic work motivation of the SEB front line employees, as work motivation was present prior to the implementation of lean.

The workplace has a direct impact on the physical, psychological, economic and social well-being of the workers. A healthy workplace leads to increased health among the employees which also makes the employees more productive (Källestål, 2004). A poor working environment can have negative consequences for individuals, companies and society (SOU, 2009:47).This is a qualitative study that investigates companies? view of health promotion and how they practice health promotion in working life. Five private and five public companies, with representatives from the management were interviewed.

För att effektivisera och möta dessa utmaningar har många sjukhus introducerat Lean-inspirerade förbättringsarbeten. Sjukhus är hierarkiska organisationer som internt har autonoma grupperingar vilket innebär särskilda svårigheter för Lean-arbete som är beroende lagarbete och kommunikation.Vi har undersökt effekterna av dessa svårigheter genom en fallstudie på hjärtkliniken på Danderyds Sjukhus. Vi jämförde tre olika grupper (ledning, läkare och sjuksköterskor) med avseende på deras uppfattning av och inställning till Lean. Vi fann tydliga skillnader mellan grupperna.

Background: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD), as a consequence of atherosclerosis in the arteria of the limbs, affects one of ten Swedes older than 65. PAD can develop slowly and silently, and involves an increased risk for cardiac infarction and stroke. Measurement of the patient´s ankle blood pressure and calculation of the ankle-brachial index is an evidence-based method to discover PAD. Objective: To investigate how district nurses and general practitioners perceive this method of examination and experience possible obstacles to why it is not more commonly applied at primary health care centres. This study aims to create an understanding of how employees relate to directives that come from a level above them in the hierarchy and is to be implemented in their working activities. This is studied by examining a case where a work group has tried to implement orders, given to them by the government and through a work group in the level above them in the organizations, concerning how employees working with child health care is to educate parents regarding the child convention. The method that have been use in this study is group interviews with 19 child health care nurses and the two main questions that are asked is why has it been difficult to implement the orders and how have the child health care nurses expressed their resistance to the changes, this since only five of the nurses had begun working with the child convention. The theories that have been used focus on how resistance towards change is expressed, organizational incapability and reluctance towards change, as well as how grass root bureaucrats relates to change. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that it is important to let the concerned parties participate from the beginning of the process, to minimize their reluctance to the changing process.

Syftet med denna uppsats är huvudsakligen att ta reda på hur det kommer sig att Lean har implementerats på Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset i Solna med stor framgång, medan det inte fått samma genombrott på Akademiska Sjukhuset i Uppsala. Empirin är baserad på  semistrukturerade intervjuer som genomförts med tre intervjupersoner från respektive sjukhus för att få både ledningens och medarbetarnas uppfattning. Empirin har sedan analyserats utifrån våran teoretiska referensram som omfattar New Public Management, Service Management Theory, Värdestjärnan, Lean, Lean Healthcare samt Värdebaserad Vård.Vi har kunnat urskilja skillnader mellan sjukhusens sätt att förbereda och implementera Lean samt effekterna av arbetet. Many companies are currently working to optimize and streamline their processes and production lines to achieve higher profitability. In increasingly competitive markets, companies are working to find solutions to increase the value of their production with such a small use of resources as possible. A tool used to accomplish this is the Lean management system. Lean comes from the production system that Toyota has been developing since the early 1900's, The Toyota Production System (TPS). The Lean philosophy helps companies, by working towards continuous improvement in its operations, to achieve higher customer satisfaction, more efficient production and ultimately higher profitability. Many companies are working to implement Lean in their organization. But there are many who fail to implement a complete change towards Lean.

De senaste fem åren har tågresandet ökat med 28 procent. Den ökade trafiken har lett till ett högt utnyttjande av anläggningar och fordon. Det har i sin tur medfört stora problem med punktligheten av tågtrafiken. För att matcha den ökande trafiken på Sveriges järnvägar ska detta examensarbete undersöka om man kan implementera Lean produktion för Banverkets byte av spårväxlar för att göra dessa mer effektiva. This is a tough situation when the public health care organization should have as good quality as possible despite savings. It is difficult for middle managers to improve patient safety in the absence of money.The purpose of this study is to explain the work with patient safety that middle manager perform during saving times.
