The aim of this case study was to investigate the role of leadership and interpersonal relations among staff during implementation of lean at a University Hospital in Sweden. The 15 respondents were leaders and staff members from different wards and clinics, who had started working according to lean principles. One of the methods used was explorative, low structured interviews. Other methods used for gathering information about the case was attending lectures about lean healthcare at the hospital, part-taking in the lean game and reading articles about lean and the implementation in both daily press and on the intranet of the hospital. The results showed that an open and accessible leader that coaches his/her staff and supports their work, helps the staff to develop a lean identity.

Uppdraget för detta examensarbete består i att utveckla en användarcentrerad designprocess för utformning av ergonomiska arbetsplatser som följer riktlinjer för Lean. Syftet är att studera hur filosofier och styrningsverktyg för Lean produktion, lagkrav i Arbetsmiljölagen och övriga föreskrifter samt ergonomiriktlinjer på ett framgångsrikt sätt kan integreras i produktutvecklingsprocesser. Utgångspunkten för detta arbete är att genomföra en kvalitativ analys av VPS assessment som är en prototyp av en utvärderingsmodell för Volvo Production System (VPS), utvecklad av sakkunniga inom ergonomiområdet på AB Volvo. Målsättningen är att stödja designarbetet så att riktlinjer för Lean, lagkrav i Arbetsmiljölagen och ergonomisk måluppfyllnad ingår i de typiska faserna av en designprocess; förstudie, formulering av kravspecifikation, generering och utvärdering av lösningar samt detaljkonstruktion. Den kvalitativa analysen som genomfördes resulterade i en integrering av aspekter från VPS assessment in i en generell designprocess.

This qualitative study involves the implementation of Lean and Kaizen methods in a Swedish service industry. Lean philosophy is based on a method to achieve more with less. Bravida is one of Scandinavia's leading suppliers of technical installations and services. According to Bravida an installer loses around 35 per cent of their daily work. It?s the time aspect that?s going to be examined in this thesis. The purpose of this thesis is that the student in question is to investigate the activities of the installers that works with this project, identifying where and how time losses occur and come up with suggestions for improvement.Methods used in this work is literature studies, observational studies and interviews.

Today, the management concept of lean has stretched far from its origins in the Japanese automobile industry. When reaching the Swedish restaurant industry, the conditions for a successful implementation of lean change as a result of the high employee turnover and the significant amount of part-time employees characteristic for the industry. Combined with a high-end service profile, these workforce characteristics seem inconsistent with some of the basic principles of lean. By conducting a case study, this thesis aims to investigate the effects of a variable workforce on the enablers for a successful implementation of lean in a high-end service industry. Using a theoretical framework consisting of enablers for an implementation of lean in services, the study finds that the variable workforce inhibits an implementation of lean by complicating the effects of traditional training, as well as the possibility of understanding the lean concept at all levels of the organization.

Lantmäteriets stödenhet Utveckling och IT (UIT) ska inför ett mer agilt arbetssätt. Den agila arbetsmetoden ifråga är Lean Thinking, den västerländska adaptionen av Toyota Production System. För att underlätta vid en övergång till det nya arbetssättet, kartläggs de inledande faserna i projektarbetet, då dessa saknar specifika anvisningar i den nuvarande projektstyrningsmodellen, Praktisk projektstyrning (PPS). Utifrån kartläggningen utfördes så en tvåstegsanalys, den första utifrån ett distribuerat kognitivt perspektiv och sedan utifrån de fem huvudprinciper från Lean Thinking. Resultatet från analysen resulterade sedan i ett antal förändringspunkter som UIT kan använda sig av vid bytet av arbetssätt.

One way to work with leadership is to use Lean. It is a management system that aims to improve competitiveness. Currently, there is a project where Lean is implemented into 100 agricultural firms.

Extreme Production Makeover? fångade vårt intresse för en tid sedan, strax innan vi skulle börja skriva vår C-uppsats. Metoden går ut på att under mycket kort tid förändra och effektivisera en produktionslina för att höja produktiviteten. Vi blev genast nyfikna på om Extreme Production Makeover? skulle gå att omsätta i administrativa flöden och tjänste-flöden med ett informationslogistiskt perspektiv.Inom produktion finns det en lång tradition av att arbeta med effektiviseringar och förbättringar.

Bakgrund: Det finns ett samband mellan ett företags produktionsfilosofi och utformningen på ekonomistyrningen som nyttjas. Ekonomistyrningen är dock trögrörlig och förändras oftast inte i samma takt eller utsträckning som verksamheten. Detta kan skapa problem då de initiativ som företaget vill genomföra får bättre genomslagskraft om de stöds av ekonomistyrningen. Kretskort AB har påbörjat en implementering av Lean och har ännu inte sett några förändringar i ekonomistyrningen. Efter de förändringar som har skett borde det dock finnas behov för en anpassad ekonomistyrning. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att fastställa vilka behov av förändrad ekonomistyrning som har uppstått vid implementeringen av Lean vid Kretskort AB.

Syftet med undersökningen är attöka förståelsen för operatörers möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter tilllärande i en lean organiserad verksamhet. För attundersöka detta har vi brutit ner syftet i följande frågeställningar: (1) Vadfinns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrånperspektivet arbetets utformning och autonomi? (2) Vad finns det förmöjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrån perspektivetledningens stöd? (3) Vad finns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkraftertill lärande utifrån perspektivet samverkan och team?(4) Vad finns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrånperspektivet kompetens? Vi har i denna undersökning använt oss av kvalitativmetod och genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med arbetsledare, teamledarekoordinator, teamledare och operatörer. Resultatet visar attoperatörsarbetet i många delar har en hög grad av standardisering, vilket å enasidan kan innebära att individen lär sig att bemästraen viss uppgift men det kan även bli ett hinder för ett mer utvecklingsinriktatlärande. Samtidigt framkom faktorer som möjliggör ett mer utvecklingsinriktat lärande i arbetet.

Detta har i sin tur lett till en fragmenterad statsmodell inspirerad av olika typer av New Public Managementmodeller.En av dessa modeller, under namnet Lean, har varit en vägledande inspirationsmodell för olika kommuner runt om i landet. Metoden är ursprungligen från Japan och är även känt som The Toyota Production System. Lean metoden har visat sig vara effektiv inom bilindustrin då den går ut på att driva ett resurssnålt företagande. Tankesättet har spridit sig över hela världen och en av de grundläggande principerna inom metoden går ut på nöjda kunder och kundtillfredsställelse.Sedan år 2009 har Södertälje kommun infört Lean metoden som verksamhetsstrategi för att utveckla organisationer och enheter i kommunen.

Saab Training Systems (STS) in Huskvarna is manufacturing material for educationalpurposes to armies worldwide. They are now implementing parts of the Lean Productionconcept in their organisation.One part of the work with Lean Production is to eliminate waste. To be able to identify waste,value stream mapping is a good tool and also what we used in our thesis. To gain a betterefficiency in the production of Personnel Detector Device (PDD) flow was one of our goals.The PDD is a harness used during battle training which registers if the user is being hit by itsenemy.Our work with the thesis started up with a short education in Lean Production and in valuestream mapping (VSM). The work proceeded with a VSM of the production flow of the PDD,interviews were made and studies of literature were done to gain greater knowledge of thesubject and solve the task.The VSM resulted in five areas which were followed up out of those six we identified.
