Emhart Glass is the world?s leading manufacturer of equipment, controls and components to the glass container industry. The goal of this project has been to identify improvements and propose cost saving solutions when moving one of Emhart Glass work cells in Sundsvall. The changes shall result in improved work environment and increased product quality. The method contains value stream mapping, concept selection and P-FMEA and complies with Emhart Glass goal to become a more Lean focused business.

Det pågår ett intensivt utvecklingsarbete inom byggsektorn, för att komma tillrätta med problem som resursslöseri i byggandet och dålig produktivitetstillväxt jämfört med övrig tillverkningsindustri. Det industriella byggandet ligger i gränslandet mellan traditionellt byggande och tillverkningsindustri och försöker närma sig lösningar för vissa av de konstaterade problem som finns inom byggsektorn, bland annat genom anammande av de produktionsmetoder som varit drivande i utvecklingen inom tillverkningsindustrin, exempelvis Lean Production.Fallföretaget i den här studien, Moelven ByggModul AB i Sandsjöfors (Moelven), har lång erfarenhet av industriellt byggande och hade 2010 börjat införa vissa Lean-verktyg i sin produktionsprocess. Den här studien inducerades av Moelvens önskemål att kartlägga och problematisera sitt system för materialhantering, för att bättre kunna organisera sina materialflöden till montageplatsen. Studiens syfte är att beskriva problembilden för Moelvens materialhantering och utvärdera hur förbättringsåtgärderna, baserade på en Lean förbättringsstrategi, inverkat på problembilden över tid.Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ fallstudie i två delar, vars första del utfördes under 2010 och andra del under hösten 2014. Genom observationer, intervjuer och litteraturstudier inhämtades material för att kartlägga och analysera Moelvens materialhantering genom byggprocessen vid de två tidpunkterna.

Today's fierce competition means that companies constantly must develop their business and internal processes. Focus on processes and continuous improvement is something that characterizes Lean Production which ICA logistics are applying with their concept Leading Logistics. Standardized routines for handling damaged gods were insufficient at the ICA distribution center in Kungälv. Handling and registration of damaged gods were not performed uniformly, resulting in problems with controlling and monitoring the process.The purpose of this thesis was to analyze and make recommendations how the process of internal handling of damaged gods could be improved. Therefore a comprehensive understanding was needed of the entire material flow through the warehouse and important quality aspects such as product safety and delivery reliability.The methods used are literature reviews, interviews and observations to produce a comprehensive process mapping of the current situation at the distribution center.

Till följd av globalisering och en växande konkurrens ställs det i dag allt större krav på organisationer. För att möta den hårdnande konkurrensen är det vanligt att företag implementerar olika kvalitetsprogram. Dessa förändringar ses som nödvändiga åtgärder för att kunna bibehålla marknadsandelar och vara konkurrenskraftiga. Genom att införa Lean-verktyg och arbeta med ständiga förbättringar minskar riskerna för att produktionen läggs ned eller flyttas till lågkostnadsländer.Som examensarbete har författarna valt att studera ett av dessa Lean-verktyg som används för ställtidsreducering. Verktyget benämns SMED och står för ?Single Minute Exchange of Die? vilket syftar till att öka maskintillgängligheten genom effektivare verktygsbyte mellan olika produkter.

I och med det enorma användningsområdet av datorsystem i dagens samhälle finns många typer av användare och uppgifter att designa för. Genom designriktlinjer kan utvecklare få referenser och guidning för att skapa användbara applikationer från början. På så vis kan tid sparas i utvecklingsprocessen. Från och med puberteten då människan kan anses vara vuxen ändras förmåga till andraspråksinlärning, trots detta finns det människor som lär sig andraspråk i vuxen ålder. Kunskap kring vad dessa skillnader beror på måste användas i designen av en andraspråksinlärningsapplikation för att tillgodose människans kognitiva förmågor.

This report is part of the major thesis carried out at Stoneridge Electronics in Bromma,Stockholm during autumn and winter 2005-2006. The background to the thesis is the trendwithin the automotive industry where color displays have become more common for presentationof information to the driver, a trend that has come to the commercial vehicle market. Thepurpose of the thesis has been to evaluate whether programmable logic, with respect to FPGAtechnology, could be suitable for display control and graphics generation of these more complexcolor displays in automotive environment.Within the scope of the thesis the FPGA technology has been investigated, i.e. whatopportunities and threats there are with aspect to environmental and security requirements. Inaddition, the market of FPGAs and pre-built IP-cores has been investigated.

En upprörd patient sitter i väntrummet på en akutmottagning. Patienten har väntat på vård i flera timmar och äntligen kommer en sjuksköterska in. Patienten reser sig upp och bereder sig på att följa med. Tyvärr utropar sjuksköterskan någon annans namn och den väntande patienten frågar undrande: ?Ursäkta, när är det min tur?? Problem:Vi anser att det finns problem i arbetsprocessen på akutmottagningen som orsakar att patienten får vänta onödigt länge.

Studien är genomförd inom ramen för ett större pågående longitudinellt forskningsprojekt om teamarbete inom Lean Production i fordonsindustrin. Syftet är att studera sambanden mellan arbetets utformning, samspel inom team och samspelets betydelse för teamets proaktiva beteende. Resultatet  baserades på en tidigare genomförd enkätundersökning (N=352) och chefernas bedömning av teamets proaktiva beteende. Korrelationsanalyser visade att starkast signifikanta samband fanns det mellan arbetets komplexitet i inte standardiserade arbetsuppgifter i team och chefernas skattning av teamens proaktiva beteende. Multipel Regression visade signifikant samband mellan chefernas bedömning av teamens proaktiva beteende och teamens kognitiva process att skapa samsyn om arbetet med arbetets komplexitet i inte standardiserade arbetsuppgifter i team.

Background:Companies of today commonly search to gain competitive advantages throughout different forms of co-operation, one of which is referred to as Supply Chain Management. Although little research has been assigned to the topic of how to manage and control this type of relation, lately a growing number of academics has been arguing that ABC is an appropriate mean of controlling this type of relationships.Purpose:The purpose of this thesis is to investigate to what degree the ongoing debate on the use of ABC as a mean of control within SCM correspond to the present theories related to ABC and SCM respectively.Research method:The thesis takes it?s starting point within the literature, meaning that the empirical information consists of published articles in the ongoing debate. This information is put in relation to the original theories concerning both topics.Conclusions:The results shown in the thesis in some content agrees with the ongoing debate referring to the positive aspects that could result from using ABC as a mean of control within SCM. However the main result of the study is the discovery of a lack of discussion concerning the problems that implementing ABC within SCM might implicate, a fact that we believe contributes to the mainly positive view on using ABC within Supply Chain Management..

It is of increasing importance to in the most effective possible way, manage and control all the transactions of raw materials, products and information that are exchanged between an organization and all its operators. These flows and the need for strategy and managing the processes of planning, implementing and control of the supply chain, has given name to the concept supply chain management. Supply chain management involves all movement and storage of raw material, and all the processes that is needed to manufacture a product from origin to consumption. Globalization, technology and increasing time and quality-based competition are all driving forces behind the concept and reasons for an increasing interest in supply chain management.The purpose of this essay is to by using a qualitative case study examine which decisive success factors that can be identified for effective supply chain management. We have compiled different theories on the subject to use for analyzing a case study Li & Fung, who is a successful supply chain management company.

Their occupation separates from a pure profit driven corporation and therefore the management controls have to be adapted accordingly.  The reason why we have chosen to write an essay about the management control opportunities to improve the energy efficiency depends on two different reasons. The first reason is that we find it very interesting, how with support from the management control it is possible to improve different parts of the operation. And the second reason is that Varbergs kommun expressed a wish that they wanted to improve their energy efficiency process.The purpose of the essay is to describe and analyze the opportunities with support from the management control to help improving the process of energy efficiency in a municipal operation.

Detta examensarbete har genomförts hos General Electric Healthcare Life Science i Umeå, GEHC Umeå, som tillverkar högteknologiska laboratorieinstrument. GEHC Umeå upplevde att deras kundklagomålsprocess hade stor förbättringspotential, men var inte helt säkra i vilket avseende de helst ville förbättra den. För att kartlägga problemkategorierna inom processen genomfördes en förstudie med några medarbetare, i Umeå som är involverade i processen. De identifierade problemkategorierna var ledtid, lärande av kundklagomålen, utförligheten och professionalismen av svar på kundklagomålsärenden samt utbildningsbrist hos medarbetarna. Utifrån förstudien skapades en teoretisk referensram och processen analyserades genom litteratur inom offensiv kvalitetsutveckling och Lean.

This report contains a programming improvement work in a LabVIEW? fire testing furnace control system for SP Fire Technology in Borås. Here materials and products behaviour are tested and evaluated, being exposed to fire. For this task, UGNET is being used for control and surveillance of the testing furnace system. System hardware has been updated gradually through the years, while the software has been neglected.

Bakgrund och problemdiskussion: Under årens gång har det inträffat flera företagsskandaler. Det har sett bra ut på ytan men insidan har visat motsatsen. Fasaden kollapsar till följd av bristande kontroll. Intern styrning och kontroll och COSO:s Internal Controll ? Integrated Framework blir allt mer aktuellt för att få ordning och reda.
