Virtuell hÄllfasthetsprovning av en turistbuss
The competitive nature of the automotive industry has always implied a necessity to improve product development concerning time-to-market, cost and product quality. As capacity of computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools has evolved, so has the strive for simulation-driven design. Virtual durability testing using full vehicle models is one of many challenges posed in front of vehicle manufacturers when computer simulations are given a key role in product development.This thesis has been initiated as a preliminary step towards implementing dynamic virtual durability testing in the development of buses and coaches at Scania. The objective has been to assess the predictability of a full vehicle coach model and to what level of precision structural loads can be predicted. Previously performed proving ground testing of a Scania Touring coach has been the basis for the modelling and simulations in this thesis.A virtual model of the Scania Touring coach has been created in multi-body simulation software package MSC.Adams.

Syfte och frÄgestÀllningar:Syftet med studien var att undersöka om slingtrÀning av nedre bÄlen för individer med löparknÀ kan ge en reducering av skadeproblematiken.Syftet var Àven att studera om upplevelsen av smÀrta och begrÀnsning i aktivitet förÀndrats hos dessa individer i en subjektiv bedömning. LöparknÀ innebÀr smÀrta pÄ den yttre sidan av knÀt, mest vanligt hos löpare men Àven andra idrottare drabbas.FrÄgestÀllningar:I vilken omfattning kan slingtrÀning av nedre bÄlen för individer med löparknÀ ge en mer funktionell styrka och Àven större uthÄllighet?Hur upplever individer med löparknÀ vid en subjektiv skattning att denna trÀning leder till en förÀndring av smÀrta och begrÀnsning i aktivitet?Metod:Studien genomfördes som en kvantitativ experimentell studie, dÀr en interventionsgrupp pÄ sex löpare med löparknÀproblem genomförde slingtrÀning av nedre bÄlen. Detta skedde tvÄ gÄnger i veckan under sex veckor. Tester av funktionell styrka och uthÄllighet genomfördes den första veckan, efter tre veckor och efter sex veckor.

Dressage schooling is not a subject that rests on science, it is a matter of dependable experience. So far there hasn?t been so much research about it, but more and more is done. Especially the interaction between rider and horse is a nearly uninvestigated field. Riding skills is much about having the right position, and having the horses head and neck in different positions, but there are no research done that support or deny that this old ?knowledge? is for the best for the horse.
This study was performed to evaluate if the head and neck position of the horse, and the velocity, has any influence on the position of the rider.

Executive summary This master thesis was originally based on a specific assignment given to the authors from ABB Full Service, a unit specializing in providing maintenance outsourcing: ?How can ABB Full Service expand its offering of providing fundamental maintenance by seamlessly incorporating the business concept with competencies and solutions from other ABB divisions?? The academic issue was developed throughout the thesis, resulting in the following formulation: ?From an organizational perspective; how can service providers bring continuous added value to intra-organizational outsourcing partnerships?? Many of the key findings of this thesis are reflected in the issue. The term intra-organizational outsourcing is a proposed addition to the terminology in the academic discourse on outsourcing. The definition of the term is: ? Where an organization outsources a business process interlinked with the physical operations, requiring the service provider to take over a preexisting unit and its employees.This is an accurate description of the form of outsourcing that ABB Full Service is engaged in.

The different material layers as part of a road construction fill all a function so theroad becomes durable, safe, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Recently, anew group of construction materials started to play an important role in roadconstruction ? geosynthetics.This thesis addresses the two most common types ofgeosynthetics used in modern road construction, namely geogrids and geotextiles.The most common use of geogrids is reinforcement of poor subgrade by usinggeogrid soil reinforcement, which occurs when road material particles wedge inthe geogrid?s mesh. Geotextiles act partly as a barrier that prevents the finermaterial in the below ground from being mixed with coarser upper material andalso act as a load spreader.Road contractors often face a choice of whether geogrids and/or geotextiles areappropriate in a particular road project and also how much profit the choice mightbring.
