Kulturarv i stadsutveckling : Kvarteret Almen Karlstad Värmland
This essay is from a student at the cultural science program in Karlstad University. The essay in Culture studies deals about the history use and about the cultural-historical values on buildings. The buildings are from a certain area called the neighborhood Almen and have in the past been threatening many times of demolition. The neighborhood Almen buildings survived a huge city fire back in the 19th century. Since then the buildings has been known as a memory and by the inhabitants and as the oldest part of the city left.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the revised Planning and Building Act (SFS 2010:900) have influenced the comprehensive planning in Swedish municipalities. A focus is directed at examining how the new law regulates a greater consideration to climate aspects and the what consequences this results in regarding the implementation of the law in Swedish municipalities comprehensive plans.The paper is a case study, containing both quantitative and qualitative methods. The case study is based on three municipal comprehensive plans. Based on quantitative material three municipalities have been selected to constitute the sample of this study. These municipalities are A?lvsbyn, Sollentuna and Olofstro?m.

The company Sol & Energiteknik wanted to examine the possibility to make a standardhouse totally energy independent. Based upon this I have, during the spring of 2007,examined the possibilities available at the market today through litterature studies, contactwith several companies and reading reports at the internet.The first thing to examine has been to determine the energy consumption for a standardhouse, and find out if there are better technologies to be used for energy conservation.My conclusion in this matter is that there are possibilities today for building a house moreenergy efficient.When I had reached the point at which my design for the house was decided, I also hadto choose the different products to use to produce energy as well as to store that energy.To produce heat and electricity to the house I decided to use a wind turbine and a solarwater heater.The most difficult part of designing a house that is energy independent is that theproduced energy must be stored somehow. Storing the heat is relatively easy beacuse theheat can be stored in a large water tank. The electricity is a bigger problem beacuse itmust be stored in batteries, which today are too expensive to be used in a standard house.In the future producing and storing hydrogen might be used to produce electricity, buttoday that technology is both expensive and not tested enough.My final conclusion is that a standard house can not be built to be totally energyindependent today, unless it is very expensive to connect the house to the electricitynetwork. As an alternative solution I came up with a proposal for a house which isconnected to the electricity network and have some amount of own produced energy.This house prooved to be a good investment if you choose to build it today, and it couldbe a very good investment in the long run beacuse energy prices increase every year..

Today the human being see energy as a matter of course but the resources that is used for extract energy is today not enough for the world demand. Of all the energy that is used in Sweden today approximately 40 % goes to the building stock. This number will most likely increase if not necessary actions will be made on the already existing building stock since new houses constantly are built which will be added up on the already existing energy supply. This takes cause of action on the already existing building stocks, to fulfill the demands of the future use of energy that has been set by the authority. At the same time the thermal conditions cannot be influenced by the necessary changes that must be made.

Syfte: Utifrån ett investerarperspektiv är syftet med uppsatsen att undersöka
om det varit möjligt att uppnå överavkastning på Stockholmsbörsen, Large Cap
under åren 2002-2011. För att uppnå syftet använder vi oss av en
momentumstrategi på medel-lång sikt, som menar att aktiemarknaden tenderar att
behålla samma avkastningsmönster för perioder av nästkommande 3-12 månader.
Syftet är också att undersöka om marknaden är effektiv i svag form.
Metod: Studien utgår från en deduktiv forskningsansats där vi utifrån
befintliga teorier inom ämnet tagit fram en frågeställning. Utifrån
frågeställningen har hypoteser testats och analyserats med empiri.

The area of Järvafältet in the northern parts of Stockholm is one of the many large-scale investments into Swedish residency executed in the 60?s and 70?s, and which got the name Miljonprogrammet. Not until today these buildings have been restored, and frustration has been brewing in these areas for some time. Järvadialogen is the name of a communication program connected to the housing restoration in the area of Husby, which is a part of Järvafältet, and functions as a promotional and informational dialogue between residents in the area and those responsible for the communication program. The cultural diversity in the area of Husby is significant, and with theories on intercultural communication, change communication and power we study the performed communicative process and the manner in which it is received.

For the Swedish industries the electricity price have traditional been relative low, which has resulted in a considerable larger usage than other European countries. By a deregulation of the European electricity market the electricity price will level off between the countries, which will cause a higher electricity price in Sweden than we are use to. To prevent that the Swedish industry don?t lose competitiveness against the other European countries, it will require energy efficiency activities in all different forms.ABB Sweden has decided to decrease their total energy usage with five percent in two years.

Projektet startade som en reflektion av kontexten. Kvarteret Domherren är en värdig plats som bör hantera ett program som uppskattar den, och som tar tillvara på platsens alla kvaliteter. Kvarterets plats i sin omgivning bjuder in till ett dynamiskt rörelsemönster på gatuplan, och med det uppstår bra förutsättningar för offentliga platser med sociala interaktioner. Genom att integrera olika generationer i byggnaden, och låta dem dela på ett spektra av olika funktioner, från fundamentala till frivillliga, väcks tanken att vi är mer lika än vad vi förut trott. Eller kanske lika olika som vi kan vara med våra jämngamla.

In today?s society climate change has grown to one of the largest global issues. To reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, large changes of the energy system are required. An increasingly popular solution is investments in local production of renewable energy resources like wind, solar or geothermal power. The following report examines the possibility for implementing a solar power plant on the new hospital Nya Karolinska Solna. Two different technologies for extraction of solar energy has been studied, solar thermal collectors to meet the need of heating and solar cells to satisfy the need for electricity linked to operating the hospital building.

It is also a confirmation on how the contract has been carried out and that the potential guarantee times after the contract will start to apply.
The objective of the following report is to find out what different types of inspections there are as well as a legal understanding about what happens before, during and above all after the final inspection.
Skola i Annedal
This project concerns a new lower and mid level compulsory school in the currently developing area of Annedal, northwest of central Stockholm. According to the given program, the school should hold 500 pupils and 100 pre-school children. As an addition to the given program, my suggustion holds a sports hall and a public library.In my project, my ambition has been to investigate how to create an inspiring and exiting place for kids to inhabit and, at the same time, create an activated, central place in a developing suburb. The latter has resulted in the two program-related additions, which purposes is to extend the hours during which the area is activated and to create additional incitements for visiting the building. Both additions are chosen based on lack of service in the area. Architectually, I've been inspired by the medieval castle which has been used as an inspirational resource for the parts of the school holding classrooms.

The objective of this thesis was to get more knowledge about how to design a dairy
farm reducing the working hours and the work tasks whit high work load. I will try to
reduce the working hours and the tasks whit high work load on my own farm witch I
am about inherit. Today, the old stanchion barn has room for about 60 cows and 74
young cattle and need two men to run it every day. The total acre is 188 hectare, 100
hectare forest, 65 hectare farmlands and 23 hectare natural pasture.
I have studied two solutions. In the first solution, I will use my old barn for young
cattle and build a new barn for the cows.
