When Fredrik Reinfeldt during the TV4 broadcasting of the Ice hockey World Cup final in 2013 was titled Prime Minister instead of State minister it caused a twitter storm. Denominantions are important to us because they are so closely tied to our identity. We may even get upset on behalf of others. A language reform concerning personal pronouns therefore affect many. The gender- neutral pronoun hen received much media attention in 2012.

Stockholm is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Its population is growing every day and the housing needs are becoming higher. Despite the growth and the need for more houses only a few new housing units are being built every year. Critics argue that if the building rate stays as it is today the development of the city will be very limited since there is no capacity for the city to embrace new incomers.The decision makers in the municipality of Stockholm are planning for large investments in housing units for the coming years up until 2030. There are plans of building approximately 140 000 new apartments to mend the ascending need for new houses.Farsta County is part of Stockholm and lies a few kilometers to the south of the city center.

A high amount of dead wood is one of the most important prerequisites for high biodiversity on forest land in Sweden. Dead wood is most abundant in young forests, thinned forests, woodland key habitats and protected forest land. In old-growth forests most of the dead wood consists of logs and snags, whilst in managed forests a huge proportion of dead wood is made up of logging residues like stumps and FWD, fine woody debris (< 10 cm diameter). All these different types of dead wood may serve as substrates for epixylic bryophytes and lichens. However, few studies have been conducted on the relative importance of these different fractions of dead wood for the occurrence of bryophytes and lichens, especially when considering dead wood on thinned forest land.

The Apollo butterfly, Parnassius apollo, is categorized as Near Threatened (NT) in IUCN Red List. Today in Sweden it is found only in strongly fragmentized populations. In the county of Stockholm, P. apollo exists exclusively in some islands of the archipelago and with one mainland population in Stora Vika. This study has the purpose of expanding the knowledge of the local conditions for the butterfly in the south parts of the county of Stockholm and thereby contributes to a sustainable land management that can preserve the Apollo butterfly.A comparative study was done between areas where the butterfly today have: a stable population (Stora Vika, Utö and Ålö), has disappeared (Muskö and Yxlö) or is strongly declining (north part of Ornö).

This paper seeks to clarify the attitudes and positions of five Swedish Christiannewspapers in relation to the Suffrage reform (1907-11) and the Courtyardcrisis (1914). Furthermore I try to investigate the reasons behind their attitudesand positions. The five newspapers examined are: Göteborgs Stifts-Tidning,Församlingsbladet, Vår Lösen, Svenska Morgonbladet and Wecko-Posten.The results of my research show both convergence and divergence. Commonfor the newspapers is their criticism of the political agitation on the basisof ethics and that they all, except for Göteborgs Stifts-Tidning, recognizedemocratic principles. Divergence is evident, for example, in the reactions tothe consequences of the Courtyard crisis.I have distinguished three main factors that may help to explain the attitudesand positions of the newspapers?: nationalism versus internationalism,confessionalism and polarized political positions, and have found that the conceptof a ?Christian press? can be defended as well as put into question.

This study sets out to investigate how the roll of the teacher is constructed in the Swedish Teachers? Unions trade publication. Based on the theory of social constructionism we have used the method of critical discourse analysis to establish dominant trends and patterns in how the roll of teacher is constructed in editorials in Swedish Lärarnas Tidning. We have established that the conflict between a modernist school tradition and a postmodern society has resulted in a dominant, traditional teacher discourse which is being simultaneously challenged by both a market-orientated discourse and a professionalization discourse. Furthermore, we attempt to highlight how these ?ideal? constructions can create problems in terms of identity construction for teachers.

The purpose of this essay is to examine the approach of the EU towards the reform efforts of Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the countries ambitions for EU memberships. The question formulation of the essay is whether there is differences in Turkey?s and Bosnia and Herzegovina?s qualifications for an EU-membership from an EU perspective. In order to better answer the question, we use two part questions. One is about the criterias and qualifications that need to be met in order to get a membership.

The purpous of this master?s thesis is to explore how the swedish public library evolved between 1890-1911, before the state implemented the library reform in 1912. The material used to cunduct the study concists mainly of texts published during the time frame of the thesis in the form of books, booklets and articles from Folkbiblioteksbladet, a journal dedicated to the subject of the swedish public library.Drawing upon Habermas theory of the structural transformation of the public sphere and Bourdieus theories about taste as social distinction and symbolic capital, the thesis seeks to show how the public participated in the evolvement of the public library and which aspects of society that contributed to the public library?s establishment as an institution. The findings are also discussed in relation to previous research of the history of the Swedish public library.

This thesis examines and evaluates user boards in Swedish public schools from a democratic perspective. In order to evaluate whether the democratic values are fulfilled five different democratic ideals are selected to serve as a theoretical fundament. These ideals derive from the Swedish Government Official Reports that preceded the reform of user boards in schools, and are identified as the following: participation, dialogue, trust, democratic schooling and influence. The study is based on cases and involves two schools with user boards and two comparative schools with informal parental influence, so called school advisory boards. The study concludes that the main difference between the two types of parental influence is the level of formality.

The aim of this study is to find out if, and in what way the Maasai pastoralists affect the spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) through Bomas (Maasai settlement) and keeping of livestock. The study was carried out in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the adjoining group ranch, Koyake GR, in South-western Kenya.Data was assembled through transect driving, with instantaneous scan sample during two seasons, December 2003 and May-June 2004. Study area contained 12 bomas with three different type of transects each: T1 (0.5 km from boma), T2 (3 km from boma) and T3 (5.5 km from boma), to create a gradual decline in human and livestock impact. Results show that there are differences in the hyena's utilisation of transect type during the day and during the night. The spotted hyena tend to avoid transects close to the boma during the day time, but go there during the night time.

Förutsättningarna för karriäravancemang inom högskolan ändrades radikalt den 1 januari 1999 då regeringen införde en bestämmelse om att man nu även skulle kunna befordras till professor.Vi ställde oss frågan om det bildats ett A- och B-lag bland professorerna som konsekvens av denna reform. Vi sökte ett svar på frågan genom att göra en jämförande fallstudie mellan Lunds universitet (LU) och Malmö högskola (MAH), och där se på generella löneskillnader mellan befordrade och rekryterade professorer. Därefter valdes en fakultet ut med höga löneskillnader och en med låga, från respektive lärosäte. På fakulteterna intervjuades en lektor, en befordrad professor och en rekryterad professor, vilka tillfrågades om arbetsvillkor och uppfattning om reformen.Materialet bearbetades sedan med implementeringsteori för att kunna ge oss svaret att det finns tendenser till bildandet av ett A- och B-lag på tre av de fyra undersökta fakulteterna..

Harmoniseringen av upphovsrättsskyddet inom den europeiska unionen har lett till ändringar i nationell rätt av flera medlemsstater. Vissa länder har som effekt av olika direktiv infört bestämmelser som gör det möjligt för domstol att ålägga internetleverantörer att blockera sina kunders tillgång till tjänster eller webbsidor som används för att begå upphovsrättsintrång. I Sverige tar detta sin form genom vitesförbud.Hovrätten har i mål nr Ö 10146-09 och i mål nr Ö 7131-09 vid vite ålagt internetleverantörer att sluta tillhandahålla internetuppkoppling för tjänster som används för att begå upphovsrättsintrång.Det torde vara lagenligt att genom föreläggande om vitesförbud även ålägga internetleverantörer att neka sina användare tillträde till en sådan tjänst. Detta torde vara fallet även om tjänsten i fråga är belägen i ett tredje land. Ett sådant föreläggande kan inte anses strida mot censurförbudet, även om tjänsten skulle vara grundlagsskyddad.

Denna studie fokuserar på arbetssituationen för kommunens handläggare i samband med organisationsförändringar vid implementering av en ny reform. I studien behandlas frågeställningar som rör yrkesrollen, handlingsutrymme och organisationsförändringar i förhållande till reformen.Studien är en kvalitativ undersökning där vi har genomfört intervjuer med handläggare inom området. För att analysera materialet har vi använt oss av nyinstitutionell organisationsteori samt psykosociala perspektiv på organisationsförändringar.Studiens resultat visar att arbetssituationen för våra informanter varierar beroende på olika faktorer. Dels hur organisationen ser ut, chefens roll, personliga förhållningssätt till förändringar samt vilka möjligheter som finns att vara delaktig och att påverka i samband med förändringen. Slutsatsen är att även om man generellt är positivt inställd till målet för reformen så är man negativ till vissa inslag, exempelvis att barnperspektivet och helhetssynen går förlorad.

Bergvik Skog is one of the leading forest companies in Sweden who use airborne laser scanning for forestry information. They utilize laser data retrieved by the Swedish National Land Survey to describe the forest holdings and facilitate planning for thinning and final felling operations. However, the possibility to identify stands with clearing needs by using laser scanning data has not been tested in a large scale. The data used in the current study are field data from The Swedish National Forest Inventory in combination with laser data from the Swedish National Land Survey acquired in 2009. The collected data is used to find one or several laser variables that best describe the relationship of the field measured samples with clearing needs.
