Children and young people's right to culture is a priority in the Government's cultural policy. Creative school was introduced in 2008 with the aim that children and youth should receive professional culture in school and increasing access to culture in all forms of expression and possibilities of their own creation, with starting points in the school curriculum. The purpose of this bachelor is to explore the view, the treatment and the use of Creative school in VĂ€rmland. A comparison has been made between professional culture, which conveys the culture and culture Coordinator who develops and co-ordinates the work of culture in schools, based on their experiences of creating school. I have looked at what barriers and opportunities there are in liaison with the school and how creative activities can be integrated into the school's other subjects.

The aim of this essay is to examine how people living in the Swedish countryside looked upon changes in the interiors through modernization in 1850-90. For the first time, there was an abundance of objects available in stores in the countryside that the majority of the population had money buy. Many novelties were introduced in the interior decoration of ordinary peoplesÂŽ homes. This study focuses on the introduction and use of wallpaper and is based on a questionnaire about wallpaper sent from the Nordiska museet, National museum of Culture history in Sweden, to people all over Sweden in 1948. 148 people responded to the questions about use and attitudes toward wallpaper during the second half of the 19th century.My theoretical perspective is cultural diffusion, the spread of cultural items, more specific the diffusion of innovations from larger to smaller places, often influenced by social elites, hierarchical diffusion, and between individuals, contagious diffusion.The analytical perspective used for the analysis is based on the concepts of basic and variable modernity, initiated by the historian Sven-Eric Liedman.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the construction of sexuality in Swedish school libraries through the lens of Foucault?s concept of power/knowledge. Five libraries were investigated, using two kinds of method: discourse analysis of titles, classification codes and subject headings of sex education materials, and qualitative interviews with librarians working at each of the libraries. Most sex education materials were classified within the medicine section, illustrating the continued authority of medical discourse in matters concerning sexuality. Books for younger audiences were often written for either boys or girls, reproducing a binary understanding of gender.

Great care and knowledge are required to assess the values of public parks. Many aspects have to be considered to make the assessments reliable and credible. Care and respect for the site and its users are necessary parts of such an assessment. Stockholm City Museum releases in 2011 a document which describes a new system for assessing the cultural historical value of parks and green areas in Stockholm, a city with a great development pressure. In order to evaluate the public realm basic knowledge about the sites? history is needed. Three different parks in Stockholm have been investigated.

Den 4 september 2010 inviger VÀsterÄs konstmuseum tillsammans med VÀstmanlands lÀns museum sina första utstÀllningar i lokalerna som Àr anpassade för museiverksamhet och tillgÀngliga för besökare. Det Àr av största vikt att följa byggnadslagsstiftningen nÀr man planerar byggnader och senare bygger dem. Man ska skapa sÄdana byggnader dÀr mÀnniskor med nedsatt rörelse- och orienteringsförmÄga har möjlighet att utnyttja lokalerna.  En ombyggnation av ASEAs gamla industribyggnad har resulterats i att man har Ästadkommit en tillgÀnglig och modern museilokal i kvarteret Mimer pÄ Karlsgatan 2 i VÀsterÄs. Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att visa vilka tillgÀnglighetslösningar som har anvÀnts i den nya museibyggnaden pÄ Karlsgatan i VÀsterÄs. En litteraturstudie har utförts för att gÄ igenom de krav som stÀlls pÄ museer.

This study focuses on the Nordic model of Extended Collective Licenses (ECL) and how this model can be used in the process of digitalising and publishing archival material such as photos, letters, maps or films. The question that this study aims to deal with is what advantages, and disadvantages, there are for archives and copyright holders when an ECL is being used. To help answering this question the ?theory of the knowledge commons? has been applied. The research question has been answered through a text analysis based on legal texts including Swedish law.

Works on transparent paper, also commonly known as tracing paper, have been described as ephemeral or temporary working documents and they usually number large quantities in archival and museum collections. They have therefore previously been considered of lower priority and can be found in poor condition due to a lack of treatment or suitable storage prospects. In addition, transparent paper can be very sensitive to moisture and reacts by deformation or loss of transparency. Due to the volume of these works and the necessity of treatment, there is a call for simple and efficient conservation methods. A common solution in archives for the treatment of water-sensitive works on paper has been the use of heat-activated tissues as they can be applied without the introduction of solvents. There is little published about the use of heat-activated tissues on transparent paper and is mentioned only briefly in existing literature.

This thesis explores how art produced in the former GDR has been looked upon, handled and exhibited after the reunification of Germany in 1990. Swedish Art History has paid little attention to art in the GDR. The debate starting in the 50s between the spokesmen for abstract art and the defenders of figuration restrained for a long period the ability to look upon art from the GDR without prejudices. This led to a rejection of all figurative art in the GDR and sweeping judgmental attitudes, like itÂŽs all ?kitsch?.

Ambitionen med projektet har varit att skapa en tillbyggnad som tydligt relaterar till huvudbyggnaden pĂ„ flera nivĂ„er. Projektet genomfördes genom att studera tidsandan, idĂ©er och företeelser som lĂ„g till grund för museets födelse, arkitekten StĂŒlers tankar kring vad ett museum Ă€r och hur en museibyggnad bör utformas, förstĂ„ huvudbyggnadens form och proportioner samt analysera platsen. Friedrich August StĂŒler ansĂ„g att museet i lika hög grad som dess innehĂ„ll var konst. StĂŒler formulerade fyra punkter om hur byggnaden pĂ„ bĂ€sta sĂ€tt kunde visa upp och komplettera sitt innehĂ„ll1. Undvikande av en för stor anhopning av likartade konstverk2. En i möjligast mĂ„n mĂ„ngfaldig utformning av rummen med olika uppstĂ€llnings- och belysningsmotiv för konstverken3.

This master's thesis studies UtlĂ€ndska biblioteket, a 19th century foreign literature subscription library in Karlskrona, Sweden. The aim of the thesis is to investigate UtlĂ€ndska biblioteket between 1835?1864.The material consists primarily of primary sources from the archive of UtlĂ€ndska biblioteket. The main primary sources are the library's accounts book, its minutes, and two book catalogs. Using analytical tools from JĂŒrgen Habermas, feminist criticism of his ideas and from Pierre Bourdieu, as well as results from previous research on older library forms and female organization in the 19th century, the thesis answers questions relating to the library as a society, its members and its book collection.The investigation shows that UtlĂ€ndska biblioteket was a subscription library as well as a book circle.

Abstract In order to work with historical sites, there must be an understanding of the complexity around the preservation of parks, gardens and landscapes and the approach to be used in the rebuilding and renewal. These issues are an important starting point of this essay. Historical environments give us as individuals an insight in who we are and from where we come, which is an important part of our need of identity as human beings. Without them, our roots in the past will be non-existent. The importance of this support base lies not only in the garden conservation, but also in the picture of developments, which we have through of as time mirrors of our living environment.

I denna uppsats ville vi undersöka hur den samiska kulturen representeras inom turism I Sverige. Vi utgick frÄn fyra relevanta teman; dessa var autenticitet, identitet, makt och turism. FrÄgestÀllningarna var: Hur framstÀlls den samiska kulturen i turismsammanhang i Såpmi? Hur pÄverkas den samiska identiteten av hur kulturen framstÀlls inom turismnÀringen? Hur mycket fÄr samerna sjÀlva vara med och bestÀmma nÀr det kommer till hur kulturen framstÀlls inom turismnÀringen? Vi började med att se över den samiska befolkningens historia. Det Àr viktigt att förstÄ hur de har behandlats förr för att kunna förstÄ varför saker och ting Àr som de Àr idag.

Dagens samhĂ€lle genomsyras av marknadsföring, och i takt med att det förĂ€ndras behövs nytĂ€nkande och nyskapande. Inom nĂ€ringslivet har det lĂ€nge varit sjĂ€lvklart att marknadsföra sin verksamhet, medan det inom kulturomrĂ„det inte prioriterats dĂ„ det ofta finns ett kulturpolitiskt ansvar som grund. Även om syftet inte Ă€r att generera vinst, har nĂ€stan alla kulturella verksamheter ett budskap att förmedla. Att de har sina speciella karakteristika pĂ„verkar marknadsföringens utformning och de verksammas uppfattning om den.Syftet med uppsatsen Ă€r att utifrĂ„n teori och empiri undersöka vilken uppfattning marknadsförare inom offentliga kulturverksamheter har om marknadsföring. För att uppnĂ„ detta syfte har vi tre delproblem; marknadsföringens acceptans, tillĂ€mpning och prioritet.I teorikapitlet har vi studerat bĂ„de ekonomiska och kulturella teorier som underbyggt de empiriska studierna av marknadsföringen i kulturella verksamheter.
