Problem: The corrugated board industry is highly affected by customer uncertainty, various demands and short delivery times. In combination with a complex multi-step production process managers have to be able to identify bottle-necks and gain knowledge and understanding of how different changes in process will affect the production output. <br/><br/>Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is twofold, (1) to examine applicability of complexity theory through agent-based modelling on a production process (2) to identify improvement areas in order to increase the production output at SKS production site in Eslöv, by modelling and simulating the production process through an agent-based model. <br/><br/>Method: The chosen method of this study is a combination of a case study and a complex system approach. The empirical data was collected through interviews, observation and document studies which were analysed through an agent-based simulation model.

The objective of this study is to understand how people with psychiatric diseases who are enrolled at a psychiatric clinic experience the recovery process and which internal motivations and external factors influence the process. The study is based on interviews with five people who have been enrolled at a psychiatric clinic. Another aim of the study is to understand how the importance of the outpatient care for the personal recovery and the improvement opportunities of the support from the rehabilitation unit that the interviewees see. The study is qualitative and abductive approach was chosen. This means that the study is based on empirical data supported by established theories.

  ABSTRACTThere is a limited possibility for many of the concert-goers to go behind the stage and follow the work process with putting together a program for the concert season in a concert institution. The purpose of this study is to describe a concert institution's work with developing a concert program for each season. This is done through a presentation of the factors affecting the work. This is a descriptive essay and a case study of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. Interviews have been made with people directly involved in the work or affected by the outcome of the work process.

Detta examensarbete är ett produktutvecklingsprojekt som behandlar utvecklingen av ett koncept av en ny stereotaktisk huvudram för användning inom neurokirurgin. Arbetet har utförts i samarbete med Elekta Instrument AB som är ett av världens ledande företag för utveckling av utrustning som behandlar cancer och andra sjukdomar i hjärnan. Elekta har idag en produkt som heter Leksell Stereotactic System (LSS) och består av en ram och en båge, tillverkade i aluminium, som används vid stereotaktisk kirurgi. I och med att diagnosmetoderna förändras och att främst MRI använder kraftfullare magnetfält finns ett behov av att använda icke elektriskt ledande eller magnetiska material i ramen. Målet med arbetet var att ta fram en ny huvudfixeringsram som fram-för allt var förbättrad inom följande; material, kompatibilitet, design och patientkomfort.Arbetet inleddes med en förstudie och en studie av användarnas antropometriska mått.

Increased competition in the IT industry has sparked a need for developing faster innovation processes with more predictable output. One of the biggest issues when it comes to achieving a faster flow through the innovation process lies in managing its high degree of variation. Proposing a solution to this problem, Lean Software Development (LSD), was developed to provide a framework for how IT companies should organize its software development process to achieve increased speed and quality. This study examines to which extent LSD, as a set of values, principles, methods and tools, can be used to improve flow efficiency in the innovation process. A case study of a multinational IT company was made by conducting ten semi-structured interviews with current employees.

Rapporten beskriver examensarbetet Gamla idéer med nya lösningar utfört av Erik Björk,avgångsstudent från utbildningsprogrammet möbeldesign vid Carl Malmsten Centrum förTräteknik & Design vid Linköpings universitet. Examensarbetet är genomfört i samarbete medIKEA of Sweden.Syftet med det designuppdrag som jag har genomfört i samband med examensarbetet har varit attta fram fyra möbler utifrån givna förutsättningar i 7 olika möbelfabriker, som alla arbetar medmassivt trä som råvara. Utifrån dessa förutsättningar skulle jag dels skapa produkter somtillvaratar materialets unika egenskaper och därigenom ej är möjliga att imitera i andra material.Dels ge produkterna originalitet och personlighet genom att utforska den skandinaviskaidentiteten och mitt egna ursprung samt kommunicera detta genom produkterna. Var produktskall ha en historia att berätta.Att ta fram fyra möbler parallellt under 10 veckor har varit en utmaning. Stundvis har det käntssom att en produkt hade varit nog men i efterhand är jag glad att det var fyra.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur kunskapsprov överensstämmer med de övergripande styrdokumenten och vilken kunskapssyn testerna förmedlar.Mina två frågor som jag hade för avsikt att få besvarade var dessa.? Hur överensstämmer de kunskapsprov som genomförs i ett yrkesförberedande program med intentionerna i läroplan och programmål?? Vilken kunskapssyn förmedlar testerna?Jag har sammanlagt undersökt 16 olika prov i olika examinationsformer, som skriftliga prov, prov i projektform, praktiska prov och övriga prov.Jag har analyserat testerna utifrån begrepp ur läroplan och kunskapssyn. Dessa är: kreativitet, integrerat, kommunikativt arbetssätt, fakta/memorerande, samarbete, reflektion, autentiska svar, elevaktiva arbetssätt, utrustning, estetisk, etik, tillgång till läromedel, bedömning av process/produkt, bedömning utifrån vem som gör bedömningen. Jag har efter analysen funnit att alla begrepp förekommer någon gång, men ingen provform är heltäckande för samtliga begrepp.De skriftliga proven som mäter fakta och memorerande kan klart hänföras till behaviorismen och förmedlingspedagogiken.I de övriga proven finns inslag av socialkonstruktivistiskt lärande, progressiv pedagogik och en del av Piagets teorier om lärande..

The purpose of this thesis is to get knowledge about how it is to work as a librarian at Gothenburg city library during a rebuilding process and during the time when they have worked in a temporary library so called niche library. Which part did they have in the renovation project and in the niche library? The aim is also to find out how the librarians have experienced their time in the niche library and if it has affected their profession and identity.The method that is used to answer questions of the study is semi-structured interviews with four public librarians. Through comparing previous research in building and rebuilding process I have analyzed the four public librarian?s part in the renovating process and the temporary library.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of the recruitment process and its complexity. The study also aims to examine whether there are any problem areas with a recruitment process which is emotionally based and if so, how these can be resolved. Four issues have been presented, in regard to solving the study?s purpose and problem definition.Theoretical framework: The chapter begins by briefly illustrate the concept of employee turnover and the economic aspects a staff turnover can bring. Thereafter, the importance of a formal preparatory work for recruitment is presented.

The aim of this thesis is to explore possible differences between public and private companies? way to manage projects. In order to analyze the managerial aspects, we have studied the project of a new payment system implemented at the public-transport organization Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL). The project enables mobile payment by text message (SMS). Most theory concerning the management of projects is developed for private companies.

Detta examensarbete är genomfört i samarbete med Thorbjörn Birging. Birging arbetar med RFID[1] och är även VD för CombiQ på Science Park i Jönköping. Under lång tid har han velat skapa en produkt som hjälper människor med sömnproblem, depression, ångest och stress. Författarens roll som ingenjörsstudent blev att utveckla hans ide till en färdig produkt. Birging upptäckte efter att ha läst en artikel om sömnproblem att det finns studier som visar att det är enklare att somna med ett svagt ljud i rummet för att andra personer i rummet inte skall störas.

Bakgrund och syfte: Det är viktigt för ett företag idag att hitta en position på marknaden som fungerar i ett långsiktigt perspektiv. Dessutom gäller det för företaget att på ett tydligt sätt positionera sin produkt eller sitt varumärke i kundernas medvetande. Ett företag som inte är nöjd med positioneringen kan välja, eller är tvunget, att ompositionera.Vi har studerat fastighetsföretaget Norrviddens arbete med ompositioneringar av två varumärken, galleriorna Flanör i Gävle och In: i Sundsvall. Syftet är att undersöka när och varför ett företag är i behov av att ompositionera sitt varumärke eller sin produkt samt att beskriva hur processen kan gå till. Huvudfrågorna uppsatsen behandlar är:- Varför genomför ett företag en ompositionering av ett varumärke?- Vilka strategier kan ett företag använda sig av vid en ompositionering?- Hur kan en ompositioneringsprocess gå till?Metod: Vi har gjort en fallstudie där vi har arbetat med ett induktivt angreppssätt med utgångspunkt i empirin.

The aim of this study was to reach a deeper understanding of the process that occurs within the social services after receiving a notification according to Chapter 14, section 1, The Social Services Act. More specifically the focus of this study was to illustrate how social secretaries reason about children?s participation in the process, as well as to examine whether the legislative change, Chapter 11, section 1 a, The Social Services Act, has affected the process in any way. The study?s results reflect interviews with five social secretaries who are active in four different municipalities in southern Sweden.

The purpose of this study was to create a deeper understanding for, and shine a light on the exit process for former criminal gang members. Which conditions appear to be important and what may constitute the enabling and inhibiting factors of an exit process? The study was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with respondents who themselves have experience of a criminal lifestyle and gang affiliation, and with professionals in social work. Our theoretical approach is based on Helen Ebaugh?s definition of an exit process, labeling theories, strain theory and control theory.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how same-sex couples experience the second-parent adoption process. To assist us, we have used our questions: how do the couples describe their experiences of the adoption process? Which are the couples? stories about the experience of contact with the involved professionals? What are the opportunities and barriers for same-sex couples to start a family? How do the couples describe their experience of reactions from the community and society, and how do they think the future will look like for same-sex couples? This study has been achieved through a qualitative approach. The empirical data is based on seven semi-structured interviews with same-sex couples or pair members that want to or have had a second-parent adoption. The theory we have used for analyzing the results is phenomenology with focus on queer theory, heteronormativity, and power.
