Vad är ett brottsoffer? -En kritisk diskursanalys av begreppet brottsoffer
Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en kritisk diskursanalys av begreppet brottsoffer i internationella, nationella och vetenskapliga dokument. Utgångspunkten i analysen är Norman Faircloughs tredimensionella modell. Analysen leder till en redovisning av brottsofferdiskursen och dess konsekvenser för samhället. De huvudsakliga slutsatserna är att brottsofferdiskursen är en del av en större diskursordning och underordnas en diskurs i vardera typen av text, internationell, nationell och vetenskaplig typ av text. Synen på brottsoffer och brottsofferdiskursen är avgörande för hur brottsoffer bemöts och vilket stöd de får.
Begreppet med fäste i gråzonen : Korruptionsdefinitionen i Hufvudstadsbladets nyhetsrapportering
In this study, my intention has been to examine how the ambiguous concept of corruption is constructed by the press. Emphasizing the media?s representations of the socially constructed and context-specific concept, this work adopts a critical perspective on discourse, together with an approach of conceptual history. Finland has for many years been appointed as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, signing several international conventions against corruption since the 1990s, which in turn has led to an increase in discussion regarding the phenomenon. By conducting a multi-method study, my aim has been to analyse the possible changes in the definition of ?corruption? in the Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet during the period 2000-2013.

Polisvåld - En tolkningsfråga : Polisers perspektiv genom sociologiska intervjuer
Denna studie undersöker hur polisvåld och polisvåld i media tolkas av polisen själv. Studien genomfördes med metodvalet grundad teori, för att säkerhetsställa att fakta talar och att inte undersökarens åsikter påverkar utgången. Våldets tolkning blev kärnkategorin med åtta underkategorier. Data påvisade ett flertal problem gällande hur våldet tolkas och polisens problematik kring detta. Media har ett stort inflytande på polisen vilket påverkar hur allmänheten skapar sin bild av dem.

Communication is important for a company in crisis because this is a way for the company to tell their side of the story and thereby try to get the customers to see things their way. Because mass media reaches a lot of people, it is a simple and fast way for companies in crisis to get their message out to the world. Mass media can be very useful for a company, but it can also be a problem. Mass media and companies in crisis may or may not have the same purpose with the communication.
Idealister eller idioter? : En studie av mediers framställning av Johan Persson och Martin Schibbye under och efter fängslandet i Etiopien
The idea to this bachelor thesis was born after carefully following the coverage of Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye in Swedish media during their imprisonment in Ethiopia from June 2011 to September 2012. Based on our interest we designed two questions to answer throughout the thesis. These are:(1) How are Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye portrayed as journalists in the discussion about them that has taken place in Swedish media?(2) How is the journalistic profession described in the discussion about Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye in Swedish media? To answer these questions we decided to analyse texts that can be defined as the genre of opinion journalism, which all came from Swedish printed media. We have chosen 16 texts to analyse which show the variety of ways to write about Persson and Schibbye in the chosen genre during the chosen period of time. Opinion journalism is what newspapers use to attract readers, as they want to supplement the news coverage with comments and analysis from ?experts?. Persson and Schibbye were imprisoned in Ethiopia in June of 2011, and weren?t released until 15 months later, in September of 2012. To analyse our material we have amongst others used theories regarding social constructionism, representation, discourse, the journalistic identity and the journalistic ideals that exist in Swedish society.
Man eller kvinna i VK? : En studie om hur män och kvinnor framställs i tidningen VK samt vad för genusdiskurser som förekommer
Medier speglar inte verkligheten utan förmedlar endast gestaltningar av verkligheten som människor kommer i kontakt med mer eller mindre dagligen. Journalister väljer och väljer bort vad som ska få utrymme och vad som inte ska få det. Bläddrar man igenom dagstidningar får man lätt intrycket att kvinnor får mindre utrymme än män trots att Sverige anses som mer jämställt än de flesta länder.Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att se hur fördelningen mellan män och kvinnor ser ut i tidningen VK när det gäller artiklar och bilder inom områdena sport och kultur & nöje. Uppsatsen ämnar även att se till vilka genusdiskurser som förekommer.För att besvara frågeställningen tillämpas två olika metoder, en kvantitativ innehållsanalys och en kvalitativ kritisk diskursanalys.Studien utgår från dagordningsteorin och gestaltningsteorin som menar att media innehar en makt genom att de bestämmer vad och hur något framställs.Resultaten visar att när det gäller antal artiklar och bilder i de berörda områdena, är kvinnor underrepresenterade, vilket bekräftar det somtidigare forskningvisar. Diskursen präglas av att män framställs som självständiga subjekt som innehar makt medan kvinnor framställs somsjälvkritiska, ej självständiga och passiva..
Sharing is Caring : En studie om viral marknadsföring i ideella organisationer.
The increased use of social media in recent years has attracted the attention of different kinds of nonprofit organisations. The purpose of this study is to identify a foundation for viral strategies for nonprofit organisations as well as to understand the current interactivity between the organisation and its followers in social media. Following that we have chosen the research question: In what ways can nonprofit organisations develop viral marketing in social media? The study has a qualitative research methodology with empirical findings as base. We have throughout the research process strived for an inductive nature in the study though there are deductive elements.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the Swedish media framed the political party, the Swedish Democrats, two weeks prior to the election of parliament in 2014. This essay starts with the historical background of the political party, the Swedish Democrats, and continues with the theoretical framework for the essay. The theoretical framework consists of three theories: framing, media logic and media?s role in the democratic society. The essay?s main problem is presented as the question: What media image was there of the Swedish Democrats before the election of parliament in 2014? The main problem is answered by using a quantitative content analysis on the essay?s empirical material, 68 news articles from four Swedish daily newspapers.

Social media supports the learning process. The aim of this study is to examine how upper secondary schools students' use of social media and how it can be used as a tool for informal learning. Our study is based on the socio-cultural perspective where interaction and social cohesion is a big part.
Framtidens samarbete mellan näringsliv och studenter - Relationsskapande aktiviteter
Purpose: The purpose of the essay is; to explain and clarify how the company is acting to lead members in social media to achieve valuable external communication. The authors believe that it is important to act with credibility and quality in social media, to accomplish long lasting relationships. When employees communicate with consumers their conduct is relevant to the company's credibility.Methodology: An inductive approach has been used for the empirical data collection since the authors have been studying the reality without existing theories. A qualitative research method has been used for collecting the empirical material. Primary data was collected from telephone interviews with seven companies, active in social media.Conclusions: The study shows that the power of employees? can be used when designing strategies for social media.
Jämställdhet kontra valfrihet : En kritisk diskursanalys av debatten om kvoterad föräldraförsäkring
Denna studie är en kritisk diskursanalys av den debatt som pågår i svensk dagspress om förslaget att införa en mer eller helt kvoterad föräldraförsäkring. Jag har främst fokuserat på hur orden ?jämställdhet? kontra ?valfrihet? konstrueras och ges mening i debatten samt vilka konsekvenser detta får. Studien bygger på ett socialkonstruktionistiskt antagande som ligger till grund för hur det skrivna språket konstrueras och skapar mening hos människor. Som metod har jag använt mig av kritisk diskursanalys där jag utgått från Faircloughts tredimensionella modell vid tolkandet av materialet.
"Man får allting gratis liksom" : En kvalitativ studie om ungas medieanva?ndning med avseende pa? samha?llsinformation
Introduction: In today?s contemporary society individuals can use multiple media- channels to find civic information. Civic information should reach all groups of society and according to previous research young people are relatively hard to reach with this type of information.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how young, highly educated individuals in Sweden are using media channels to find and take part in civic information, the expectations they have of the information and if they consider that they need to participate in public discourse.Methodology: In this qualitative study we had a hermeneutic perspective with an abductive approach. We have collected our empirical material by doing interviews with 15 respondents. The respondents are students and were chosen based on both their knowledge and their interest in media and communication since we were looking for a broad view on the subject.Conclusion: Through this study we discovered that young individuals mainly use the social-media channel Facebook to get updated on civic information.
