The aim of this thesis is to investigate the reason behind thedecision to open libraries at subway stations in Stockholm.The theoretical framework for the study is Douglas Raber´s threeideologies, social activism, conservative response and populistinitiative. The study includes interviews with librarians and apolitician responsible for the service and documents with plansfor the Public Libraries development during the period. Theempirical material was examined with an idea- and ideologicalanalysis.The conclusion is that the concept of the subway libraries consistsof a combination of the three ideologies but the most evidentare those of populist initiative and social activism.The reason for opening libraries at subway stations is to makethe libraries more easily accessible, to attract new visitors and tomake the Public Libraries service more visible. These smalllibraries have a function as a market place for the Public Librariesand as a meeting place in the city..

Rådet för kommunal redovisning utkom 2006 och 2009 med nya rekommendationer för hur kommuner ska värdera sina anläggningstillgångars nyttjandetider. Syftet med detta arbete är att öka förståelsen för hur kommuner värderar och fastställer materiella tillgångars nyttjandetider. Arbetet syftar till att identifiera och beskriva kommuners värderingsmetoder, arbetsprocesser samt att utveckla en modell för fastställande av tillgångars nyttjandetider. Arbetets data är insamlad genom två delstudier där semistrukturerade intervjuer användes som datainsamlingsmetod. Insamlad data analyserades med hjälp av teorin om ansvarsskyldighet, agentteorin, teorin om förvaltarskap, institutionell teori samt Life cycle costing teorin.

Måltidskunskap är ett relativt nytt och outforskat området. Forskare menar att måltiden är en diffus sak att undersöka och att det krävs mer djupgående forskning kring ämnet. Den nordiska forskning som gjorts delar upp måltiden i fem aspekter. En av dessa aspekter är mötet. Mötet är en stor del i gästens helhetsupplevelse då det är där all kontakt med personalen sker.

The use of subscription services directed towards customers has become a common phenomenon in a vast number of different industries. We have noticed a clear trend of new businesses emerging solely offering subscriptions, and existing companies altering sales of their products to become parts of subscriptions. But research has not caught up with this trend yet, especially regarding why it occurs and how it affects existing businesses internally. The purpose of this study is to examine the driving forces for change and examine how existing businesses have to change parts of their business models to offer subscription services. Till sin hjälp anlitar de kommunala revisorerna sakkunniga biträden som är yrkesrevisorer. De kommer från privata revisionsbyråer eller i vissa fall från egna kommunala revisionskontor. Syftet med uppsatsen är att förklara vad som påverkar den kommunala revisionskostnaden i Sveriges kommuner.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how city librariesmaintain the intellectual freedom in their Internet service. Thediscussion about Internet filters has been quiet in Sweden forseveral years, so I wanted to see if there had been an increased useof filters. I also wanted to see if the city libraries regulated theInternet service in another way. I sent a survey to 100 libraries andgot answer from 83. To explain what intellectual freedom is, I usedStuart Hamilton?s theory about intellectual freedom in the librarycontext.

Construction and maintenance of forest truck roads are a necessary element of industrial forestry. Payment for contracting services in this context can be done according to a number of payment models. This study will focus on the methods and consequences associated with a change of Holmen Skog?s payment model from per hour to per metric ton for ballast hauling. The aim of this study is to improve the economic efficiency of Holmen Skog?s ballast hauling in construction and maintenance of forest truck roads. This is done by formulating and evaluating a proposal for a payment model based on crowns per ton.

Servicescape is a research area within service management which processes the effect that the environment has on the service experience. The purpose of this essay is to find out how servicescape, with focus on the ?background music?, affects customer behavior in a clothing retail store. Through manipulation of the background music?s tempo the essay aim to explore to what extent this part of the servicescape a) affect the customers approach and avoidance behavior, b) is affected by customers with a hedonic or utilitarian shopping behavior, c) affects pleasure, arousal and dominance perceptions for the customer, and d) how the servicescape is perceived.Key words: Servicescape, approach-avoidance behaviour, pleasure, arousal, dominance, hedonic-utilitarian behaviour..

Det här examensarbetet är utfört på uppdrag av Visualiseringscentrum i Umeå. Syftet med studien har framför allt varit att få svar på tre frågor: • Finns det intresse och behov av att använda 3D visualisering vid kommunal planering och vägprojektering? • Finns det någon teknik som, om det finns intresse och behov, kan användas för att tillgodose de behoven? • Finns det några andra branscher där 3D visualisering skulle vara intressant att använda? För att få svar på den första frågan har ett antal intervjuer av nyckelpersoner på stadsbyggnadskontor, Vägverket samt konsulter i bygg- och planeringsbranschen genomförts. Resultatet av dessa intervjuer visar att det finns ett intresse och ett antal tänkbara tillämpningar för 3D visualisering. Ett tänkbart användningsområde är i samband med offentliga visningar av planerade byggprojekt, vägar eller byggnader.

I Sverige arbetar många människor i human service organisationer såsom: skolor, sjukhus, äldreboenden. I denna typ av organisationer har personalens arbetsglädje en utvidgad betydelse eftersom denna antas ha en stor inverkan på relationen mellan personal och brukare och därigenom också för brukarnas upplevelser av verksamhetens kvalitet. Denna uppsats syftar till att belysa olika aspekter av vad arbetsglädje kan innebära för personal som arbetar inom kommunal äldreomsorg samt att relatera detta till chefens syn på sin betydelse för personalens arbetsglädje. För genomförandet av studien användes en kvalitativ ansats. Det empiriska materialet samlades in genom intervjuer och observationer.

This study is an attempt to examine a hospital library's difficulties in reaching customers with consumer health information. The method was a case study of the consumer health service in the hospital library in Västerås, a town in Sweden. Qualitative interviews, observations and written material were used. The approach was from the actor's point of view with the intention to look upon the problem with the eyes of those who work at the hospital with information to patients, that is librarians and medical staff. Theories about marketing in service organizations and how to develop new services were used in the study, as well as theories about communication and different cultures within organizations of different kinds like the library and the hospital.

The purpose of this master thesis is to use marketing theory on the library?s activities. The marketing theory used is the 4Ps; product, price, promotion and place, as it's presented by Philip Kotler. Because the library can be seen as a service oriented organization Christian Gronroos theory of marketing in the service industry also has been used. A case study of the public library in Broby was made to illustrate how the public libraries? activities can appear in the light of marketing theory.

Staten har sedan år 2000 i ökande grad kompletterat styrningen av kommuner och landsting med hjälp av öronmärkta stimulansmedel riktade till specifika områden. Från 2010 och fram till och med 2014 har Socialdepartementet tecknat årliga överenskommelser med Sveriges Kommuner och Landsting (SKL) om ett omfattande reformarbete riktat till landstingens och kommunernas hälso- och sjukvård samt kommunernas socialtjänst. Reformen benämnsBättre liv för sjuka äldre, där en viktig ingrediens har varit ekonomiska incitament i form av prestationsersättning.Syfte med denna studie är att belysa vilken påverkan styrsättet med förbestämda kvalitetskriterier och prestationsbaserad ersättning får på personalen i kommunal äldreomsorg. Studien är en fallstudie av implementering, där Arvika och Kristinehamns kommuner exemplifierar fallet. Det är en kvantitativ undersökning som bygger på 574 enkätsvar från olika personalgrupper inom kommunernas äldre-omsorg.Styrning med prestationsersättning sker inom många områden, men denna studie avgränsas till att un-dersöka ett nytt sätt att arbeta förebyggande inom äldreomsorg.

This thesis has been performed at consulting firm Sweco Position in Jönköping. The thesis is divided into two main sections: theoretical and practical. The theoretical section contains an investigation into the possibilities of implementing a geographical information system (GIS) for administrations of wells with the integration of Bing Maps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The practical work comprises the development of a prototype for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.The students review the Model-View-ViewModel-pattern on a theoretical basis, compares the differences between Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT. The thesis also contains and investigation into the pros and cons of a web based application compared to a native one.The result of the thesis will be comprised of a GIS-service developed in C# in co-operation with XAML with the options of saving data locally and a WMS-based service layer for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8..

Background: The demand for sending letters, in the traditional aspect, has decreased because of electronic sources which have replaced a big part of letter communication. The Postal Service constantly strives for lowering costs and due to the changeable demand, a greater awareness is required regarding recourses and their usage. The previously mentioned measures in combination with commonly occurring quality issues during the collective process at the letter terminal in Alvesta would be improved by applying a lean-perspective to the process. A first step towards saving of time is to apply the ?value stream mapping?-method on the collective process for small and large letters.Purpose: To map the process of collection for small and large letters to be able to identify waste of recourses and furthermore give suggestions on how the Postal Service would be able to reduce the waste of recourses identified.
