Arvika Fastighets AB is a municipal subsidiary tasked with managing all green areas in the municipality, with a strong focus on the City Park and plant beds in the city centre. These areas generate large amounts of green waste, which is currently transported to the municipality's composting area at Lycke. Currently, the material is piled up and turned once a year without using the resulting soil for flowerbeds, lawns, and shrub/tree plantings. The purpose of the study is to determine if Arvika can compost the green waste in a more efficient manner and produce weed-free soil ready to be mixed into various substrates for different purposes. Interviews with the Swedish Church and several municipalities in Sweden have been conducted to learn from their experiences and knowledge of how they make their composting work.

Examensarbete har utförts för AIAB DC Systems i Karlstad.Vår uppgift gick ut på att göra ett övervakningssystem för DC-system. Enheten skall användas för att övervaka isolerade DC-system avseende spänningsnivåer och isolation samt larma vid fel. Tidigare har man haft ett analogt system ute på marknaden men nu vill man ha ett digitalt processorbaserat system.Vi har använt oss av en 8-bitars RISC-processor. Programmeringen har gjorts i assembler med hjälp av ett utvecklings-kit och sköter logiken för övervakningen. Programmet manövreras med två tryckknappar och en display.Programmet vi har tagit fram behöver kompletteras med vissa funktioner.

Projektering är det som, genom utredningar och planering, utformar ett byggprojekt. Planeringen av den tid ochresurs som krävs för att lyckas är allt som oftast ett komplext arbete. NCC Karlstad arbetar mest enligtentreprenadformen totalentreprenad, vilket gör att projektering utgör en viktig del av deras verksamhet. I ett stort företag som NCC bör den erfarenhet och de interna resurser som finns vara en tillgång för att förenkla planeringen. Därmed ligger det i NCC:s intresse att utvärdera och utveckla denna process.Enligt NCC är disponeringen av tid och resurs i denna process ett problem då produktionen ofta startar innanprojekteringen är klar.

Welfare is every person's right. To create conditions for a good welfare it requires coordinated strategic interventions at national and local level. Efforts must be politically supported to be able to strengthen public health. Local welfare management is a measure used to control and monitor public health. The purpose of this study was to investigate local actors perceptions of collaboration in strategic public health efforts with local welfare management in a municipality in central Sweden.

Detta projekt är utfört vid Novanik AB i Karlstad. Uppgiften bestod av att anpassa ett befintligt mätdatainsamlingssystem till ett nyinförskaffat robotsystem. Robotsystemet är tänkt att kunna ersätta ett tidigare använt system, som bestod av en helt annan typ av robot. Rapporten visar hur roboten har spänningsanpassats till det svenska elnätet eftersom roboten var inköpt ifrån USA och användes i deras elnät. Rapporten visar även hur roboten framgångsrikt har anpassats så att den kan styras med redan befintlig programvara (som användes till den äldre roboten)..

A large proportion of the energy consumption is in the building industry and a large part goes to heating our homes and premises. In the developing countries' development now threatens the large consumption of energy in our earth's climate. It is in the West world that we must be good role models in terms of energy efficiency. One solution to reduce energy consumption for heating of buildings may be to continue to build low energy houses and passive houses, but it is also about rebuilding the buildings that currently have high energy consumption such as the old Million program Houses. These buildings will be standing many years and their energy consumption will not diminish over time by itself and energy prices will certainly not diminish in the future.

Idag lever vi i ett konsumtionssamhälle där människors nuvarande konsumtionsmönster inte är hållbara. Det krävs att varje individ tar hänsyn till både ekonomiska, miljömässiga och sociala aspekter, om en hållbar konsumtion ska bli verklighet. För att förstå sig på hushållens konsumtionsvanor är det bästa sättet att fokusera på individernas beteende. Både livsmedelskonsumtionen och avfallssektorn är områden som ger upphov till stor miljöpåverkan. Forskare har nyligen kommit fram till att det är matspillet som är den stora miljöboven, inte livsmedelsförpackningarna. Tidigare studier visar att en stor andel av den mat som hushållen köper hem slängs.

In recent years, several problems in the field of assistive device have been lifted. To manage the development Beslutsstöd (Decision support) has emerged as a systematic working method. Beslutsstöd is designed as a guideline and serves as a tool for physical therapists and occupational therapists in the prescription process of assistive devices. Beslutsstöd thereby aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of the prescribing process of assistive device in the organization of the municipalities. An implementation evaluation about how the implementation of Beslutsstöd in the municipalities did proceed has not been done.

This is a case study of work for gender equality, performed by the Employment and Competence Centre (Arbets- och kompetenscenter) in the municipality of Botkyrka. The aim of the study is to explore how gender equality is understood in the context of a municipality, and what underlying assumptions this understanding is based upon. The questions raised are; How is gender equality understood by the personnel? How do they understand gender? To what extent are women and men seen as homogeneous groups and what differences are (un)visible? What other power hierarchies besides gender are seen as important when working for gender equality? The analysis show that gender equality is a blurry vision, mainly understood in terms of equal conditions and rights, equal results for male and female participants and equal amount of women and men employed. Gender is seen as a binary system and differences between the genders are highlighted.

In the end of the last century the interest for youth politics increased in Sweden. The causes for the increased interest were the more obvious youth politics questions and problems, for example the increased youth unemployment. In 1998 the government wrote down national goals and instructions for the youth politic work in a government bill (1998/99:115). This government bill describes how the youth politic work should be carried at a local level in the municipality.The purpose with this study is to investigate young people, in Värnamo kommun, view of their own situation. The study´s focus lies om three main concept; democracy, justice and faith in the future.

Enköping?s Rugby Club has long lacked a bigger hall to gather their members in, where they can meet and socializes outside trainings and games. Thanks to Enköping?s municipality, The Swedish Inheritance Fund, Swedish Sports Confederation, sponsors and club members the clubhouse will be built out with additional 100 square meters.The project is planned in two phases of which phase one is the buildup of the new clubhouse and phase two is the renovation of the existing part. Phase one started with the first groundbreaking in December 2006 and was finished for the season 2007.

Flyktingmottagande är en viktig och högst aktuell fråga idag. Flyktingströmmarna till Sverige ökar då oron i andra länder ökar. Detta leder till att frågor uppstår kring mottagandet och de effekter detta skapar. I Sverige förhandlar Länsstyrelserna på uppdrag av staten med kommunerna om hur många flyktingar respektive kommun ska ta emot. I dessa förhandlingar uppstår frågor kring effekterna av mottagandet och vissa frågor är svåra, om inte omöjliga att besvara. Frågan kring vilka ekonomiska nettoeffekter flyktingmottagandet skapar kunde inte länsstyrelserna besvara.

Uppsatsen handlar om det arbete vi utfört åt Prevas AB i Karlstad. Uppdraget gick ut på att synkronisera tre olika systems kalenderfunktioner så att det som skrivs i en kalender syns i alla. För att klara det behövde vi först undersöka hur de tre systemen fungerade vilket delade upp arbetet i en utredningsfas och en konstruktionsfas. Utredningsfasen ledde till att vi begränsade arbetet till att endast omfatta en envägskommunikation mellan två av systemen i konstruktionsfasen. Detta arbete beskrivs i detalj i uppsatsen..

In 2002 the Norrköping municipality decided to establish a number of supportive teams and one teaching group with the purpose of developing alternative supporting efforts for children with social problems. This development work came to be called BUSS. BUSS today consists of four local teams, team Ett, team Norra, team Torpet and the Mathson School.The teams? focus, beyond the commission from Norrköping municipality, is to reduce the number of children being placed outside their own homes, get them to function in school, develop their self-confidence and social competence. Also their task is to support parents and take up a functional spare time for the children.
