I samband med att projektet Tryggare Kalmar startade, har debatten angående betalningsmedel blivit aktuell. Tryggare Kalmar är ett projekt som drivs av banker, handlare och polisen där de tillsammans vill minska kontanthanteringen i samhället för att ge en tryggare arbetsmiljö för anställda. Dock är inte alla övertygade om att en minskad kontanthantering är den optimala lösningen, då båda betalningsmetoderna har sina för - och nackdelar. I denna studie strävar vi efter att undersöka vad som påverkar butikers val av betalningsmetoder samt hur deras förväntningar på framtiden ser ut. Genom en kvalitativ studie har vi genomfört 14 intervjuer riktade till butiker inom detaljhandel samt till drivande nyckelaktörer som kan tänkas påverka valet av betalningsmetoder i butiker.

Abstract Contemporary cities find themselves today in a fierce competition against other cities over company establishment and in -migration. In this competition, the city?s main objective is to become an attractive site of capital accumulation.  As this happens, the pressure on the vulnerable groups in society increases, leading to a social geographic polarization. I have examined how the shift towards neoliberalism has affected a city on the fringe as Kalmar. How is the postindustrial urban space constructed? I found this important to analyze since it put two important questions in the light: For whom, and for which purpose do we build the city today? My questions have been:v  What are Kalmar municipality?s strategies to develop Kalmar?v  What are the results of this strategy in the urban space?v  What are the consequences of this strategy?The research has been a case study of the city of Kalmar with a qualitative deductive approach where David Harvey?s theories about the city in a capitalist system have been the underpinning structure.

Despite this, they are having a hard time to get help and support from social service. The purpose of this study is to analyze how professionals express their experience about efforts and needs of efforts for abused women with substance abuse problems. Questions:1. How do professional´s in Kalmar think about the efforts for abused women with substance abuse problems?2.

This study examines implementation from national law in to local practice in the district of Kalmar to assure newly arrived immigrants orientation in civics. The study takes its starting point in Lipskys theory about street-level bureaucracy.  Questions that are discussed are about how  the education is understood by refugee?s coordinators, civic communicators and the new immigrates, how the organization has been and what role the demography and economic structures has played for the organization. It is a case study where interviews and enquete has been used.

This is a qualitative essay that has its starting point in the deindustrialized community in the county of Kalmar. At the time deindustrialization started, the globalization and the technical development took form, this resulted in increasing traveling in the world. The communities that had lost their industries had to find new ways of surviving. The politicians used the increasing travelling and tourism and saw a new industry in the tourism, therefore they made cultural heritage visible. Main focus lies in the will from politicians to visualize cultural heritage for economic gain and the administration of cultural heritage that in essence had to accept a new use of the cultural heritage.

The aim of this study was to examine how social policy is created in a local context on the basis of the situation regarding the begging EU migrants in Kalmar, Sweden. The last few years the number of begging EU migrants has increased in Sweden. Most of them are Roma with a history of exclusion and discrimination. To reach our goal we interviewed three managers from the social Services representing the local authorities. We also did four interviews with people from three non-profit organizations in Kalmar.

The aim of this study is to describe and analyse an elderly care team?s prerequisite to anchor a salutogenic perspective and approach in an elderly care team in Kalmar municipality. The study identifies factors that could impede or promote the anchoring and examine how the organisation aims to work in a single direction even if the multidisciplinary team processes a diversity of knowledge, education and abilities. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews from representatives of all professions in the multidisciplinary team; social workers, paramedical professions, nurses and care-givers. The theoretical frame consisted of a translating perspective, leadership and ideas of interaction and power.

Within the municipality of Kalmar, juvenile agents work as a link between young people and the opportunities that the municipality provides. To create this link with young people, communication is essential.Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to create an understanding of how the juvenile agents work in order to create and maintain communication with young people. The purpose is also to evaluate the result of the information campaign they executed in 2011.Methodology: For this paper we had a hermeneutic approach with an inductive viewpoint.

Syfte: Syftet är begreppsutvecklande där vi vill öka kunskapen om hur enverksamhet som kännetecknas av hierarki och standardisering är kopplattill kreativitetsbegreppet. Detta genom att studera ledarskapets ochkreativitetens betydelse för, och relation till, varandra i enprofessionsbyråkrati.Metodik: Vi har använt oss av deduktiv ansats och en kvalitativundersökningsmetod. Vi har utfört sex kvalitativa, semi-struktureradeintervjuer med olika chefer på Länssjukhuset i Kalmar samt elva styckenintervjuer med medarbetare till dessa chefer.Resultat: Vi har upptäckt att andra termer tillgives samma innebörd somkreativitetsbegreppet på Länssjukhuset i Kalmar. Istället för kreativitetanvänds utveckling och förbättringsarbete, något som ständigt är i fokus.Ledarskapet försvåras av sin uppgift att skapa ett klimat där idéer frånmedarbetare uppmuntras och tas om hand. Ledarna på Länssjukhuset iKalmar måste bland annat driva ett lyhört och synligt ledarskap för attkunna få medarbetarna att vara kreativa.

This masters thesis aims to explore the branch libraries in Kalmar municipality and their relation to the Information and communication technology ICTsociety. How do they adapt to and assimilate with, the ICT-society? What are their roles in local social networks and do they make a difference there? To answer these questions, critical discourse analysis, CDA, as founded by Norman Fairclough is applied to four interwievs with branch library managers. Other theorists used are Michel Foucault, Chaïm Perelman and Ludwig Wittgenstein. A solid description of todays society on different levels is also given.

The rise of social media has created an endless source of possibilities for companies to interact and connect with their target audiences. As it is a new channel, companies may experience uncertainty on how to use it to its fullest potential.The purpose of this study is to describe how the Public Service radio channel, P4 Kalmar, use its Facebook page and how its members perceive the communication on this platform. We have also presented recommendations on how P4 Kalmar can improve the relationship with its members. To reach our conclusions we have combined theoretical references with a quantitative content analyze, a survey and qualitative depth interviews.By analyzing our findings we came to the conclusion that P4 Kalmar have to develop a strategy for communicating on social media. But since no general communication strategy for the organization exists they have to develop one before developing one for social media.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om och hur ett samband mellan evenemang och turism existerar. För att studera detta har ett specifikt evenemang undersökts och analyserats. Studien har gjorts med förhoppning om att detta specifika evenemang kan generera en djupare förståelse för och urskilja turismens roll och betydelse i ett evenemang. Då turismens eventuella roll i evenemanget klargjorts, är det även av intresse att se vilka potentiella möjligheter som finns för att utveckla dess del i evenemanget.Studien är utformad som ett fältarbete där objektet som studerats och analyserats är evenemanget Jul på Kalmar Slott. Fältarbetet inkluderar observationer på plats av besökare, utställare och omgivning samt semistrukturerade intervjuer med arrangörer och personal på Kalmar Slott.

The regime theory is the dominant paradigm in the studies of urban politics in USA. It provides a set of concepts to analyse the change from government to governance in the American local politics. The regime theory postulates that governing power in local government tends to be highly fragmented. The private sector has with its control of economic resources a major influence in shaping governing decisions. In this essay I study the regime theory in a Swedish context to investigate if the theory is pertinent when studying of Swedish local governance.

Kalmar Energis kraftvärmeverk har sedan det togs i drift 2009 blandat bottenaskan med askan ifrån konvektionsstråken. Eftersom Kalmar Energi söker nya användningsområden för askorna var för sig har en separering av dessa blivit aktuell att undersöka.Syftet med rapporten var att ta fram en teknisk lösning åt Kalmar Energi för att transportera aska från konvektionsstråk 2 och 3 till flygasksilon på Moskogen kraftvärmeverk.Rapporten har skrivits i nära samarbete med Moskogens driftpersonal samt med tillgång till deras arkiv och DCS. Rapporten har gjorts som en kvalitativ undersökning med intervjuer och en litteraturstudie.Den tekniska lösningen resulterade i att aska från konvektionsstråk 2 och 3 transporteras via cellmatare, skruvar och fallrör till en ny gemensam stoftsändare. Stoftsändaren kommer sedan pneumatiskt transportera askan via en ny transportledning direkt till flygasksilon..

Studien är genomförd i sex åttondeklasser, från två högstadieskolor i Kalmar tätort. Utifrån undersökningens syfte har vi genomfört en kvalitativ enkätundersökning.Undersökningens syfte är att undersöka respondenternas upplevelser och reflektioner från temadagen Brott och Straff, som har genomförts på Kalmar slott i delad regi av slottet och Kalmar läns museum. Studien behandlar hur respondenterna uppfattar kulturmiljöpedagogiken som ett hjälpmedel i deras lärande. Det är en fallstudie, och inte en generell uppfattning från samtliga åttondeklasser i Sverige.Enkätsvaren, och tillika empirin, studerades utifrån två olika perspektiv, dels för att kunna föra en innehållsanalytisk diskussion, dels utifrån ett historiebruksperspektiv. Respondenterna har vid genomförandet av enkätundersökningarna uppgivit flera åsikter och reflektioner, men en tydlig majoritet har angivit att temadagen Brott och straff varit bra, spännande, rolig och lärorik.
