Title: Notification of animal welfareAuthor: Helen ÖhlundThe purpose of this study was to examine the routines of the county administrations in Sweden when it comes to receiving notification from the public about the welfare of animals. According to Jordbruksverket at least 50 % of the screening of animal welfare should be based on routine controls on existing farmers. Today the routine controls only reach a 43 % average for the whole country. A big part of today?s result depends on the amount of time it takes the administrators of animal welfare to process the notifications from the public.

Vilka problem och möjligheter finns det med svensk gastronomisk kultur? Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en inventering av olika matintressenters åsikter om svensk gastronomisk kultur; vad den svenska gastronomiska kulturen omfattar samt hur den ser ut i Kalmar län. Vi har använt oss av en induktiv ansats för att kunna kartlägga problem och möjligheter med den gastronomiska kulturen i Kalmar län. Fältmaterialet har samlats in från åtta stycken intervjuer.Producentledet är för svagt och utbudet litet av regionala matupplevelser för att marknadsföra Kalmarregionen samlad. Efterfrågan finns på upplevelser med inslag av unik kultur, natur, svenska traditioner, matfestivaler, samt upplevelser med högre kvalité och mer engagemang.

Sweden's aging population makes the need for a viable health care urgent and telemedicine can be a solution to enable older people to receive or give themselves care in their homes. Furthermore, implementation of telemedicine has the potential to realise profits in society by increasing the accessibility of health care and minimizing travel costs. Sweden?s low population density and geographical configuration makes the advantages of telemedicine even more appealing. To illustrate the differences between the county councils? use of telemedicine and thus increasing the possibility for coordinated care between them, the authors have on behalf of the Innovation Centre at the Karolinska University hospital mapped the amount of telemedicine technologies that are available in the Swedish county councils? today. To collect information an electronic survey and video or telephone interviews were used.

The purpose with this master thesis is to analyze how the Swedish County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen) acts in an environment that changes fast with more regional actors than ever before. There are also proposals regarding new public authorities and eventually a reduction of the Swedish County Administrative Board.By studying a report issued by the Board in December 2005 the aim is to find their intentions and actions for the future. By using three diverse theoretical concepts - the public organisation, the instrumental perspective and two separate perspectives from new institutionalism - the expectation is that I will have the possibility to analyze the intentions of the organisation in many different ways.In this case study I also want to take into consideration the central discourses in the regional debate, shall we decentralize or shall we keep on having a strong state even in the future? What kind of regional policy does the Swedish County Administrative Board prefer?The result shows that the Swedish County Administrative Board struggles for a strong state even in the future, but it does not propose any huge changes. In many ways it seems like they act as they are supposed to - as an instrument for the government - but despite that it is obvious that the Swedish County Administrative Board tries to show that it has the traditions and knowledge.

Cityuniversitetet är ett begrepp på vår samtids universitetsmodell som innebär att universitetets lokaler ligger utspritt, helst på ett fåtal samlade platser i staden. Universitetsmodellen är nära knutet till den funktionsblandade staden, med stenstaden som ideal. Staden ser på universitet som en stor fördel i konkurrensen med andra städer och regioner och universiteten används i marknadsföringen av kunskapsregioner/städer. Uppsatsen undersöker vad ett cityuniversitet är, om det finns ett samband mellan olika stadsbyggnadsideal och hur ett cityuniversitet skapas. Detta undersöks av en studie av litteratur och fallstudier av Göteborgs universitet och Malmö högskola som analyseras av en SWOT-analys.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera varför människor väljer att gå med i ett samfund.Undersökningen är gjord i Kalmar stad och empirin bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer frånrepresentanter inom de olika samfunden. Målsättningen är att skapa en förståelse för de olikasamfundens organisationer och studera huruvida människor ser sig som sekulariserade ellerej. Det har också varit vår avsikt att studera medlemmarna och deras aktivitet i de olikasamfunden, samt avgöra huruvida sekulariseringen påverkat deras intresse för samfunden.Våra förhoppningar är att studien bidrar till att diskussioner kan uppkomma ur resultatet.Resultatet i vår undersökning visar på en ökad andlighet hos människor i Kalmar stad.Ökningen kan ses som en motsägelse till sekulariseringen och tyder på att samhället idag ärmer öppet mot religiösa samfund. Man kan se tydliga resultat på att samfunden har gjort småbetydelsefulla förändringar för att kunna nå ut till dagens samhällsmedborgare, utan att haförändrat sina grundpelare i någon större utsträckning. Purpose/Aim: To describe likenesses and differences between the personal identity of the common Kalmar nation member and the collective identity of the organization Kalmar nation as described by said members.Material/Method: Collecting data through a quantitative survey, where the members answer questions about themselves and Kalmar nation, and subsequent analysis of said data by means of theories about personal, collective, and brand identity.Main results: After analyzing the data from the survey I conclude that there exists both likenesses and differences between the organization and its members. Some likenesses are more pronounced than others, and the same can be said for the differences. However, within the three areas of study (specific identity traits, politics and music) politics and music showed more similarity between the members and the nation than the specific identity traits did. The most interesting aspect of the analysis show that the members have quite a common view of the organization despite their own widely different descriptions of themselves..

This study examines implementation from national law in to local practice in the district of Kalmar to assure newly arrived immigrants orientation in civics. The study takes its starting point in Lipskys theory about street-level bureaucracy.  Questions that are discussed are about how  the education is understood by refugee?s coordinators, civic communicators and the new immigrates, how the organization has been and what role the demography and economic structures has played for the organization. It is a case study where interviews and enquete has been used.

To ensure that animals are treated well and kept in environments fitted for them, Sweden has animal welfare legislation. One of the requirements in the legislation is that horses are kept in spaces that has a ceiling height that measures at least 1,5 * the height at the withers of the horse, but always a minimum of 2,2 m. But a minor derivation can be accepted from these measurements if certain criteria are fulfilled. If the ceiling height is to low the ventilation in the stable can be negatively affected. It can also affect the posture of the horse and may increase the risk of the horse being injured.

The purpose of this study was to look into how evidence evaluation in verdicts considering 2 § LVU (Care of Young Persons Act) linked to honor related problems are handled by the County Administrative Court of Stockholm. The questions at issue were how the County Administrative Court handles the prerequisites regarding 2 § LVU verdicts, how the County Administrative Court proceeds when evaluating evidence in 2 § LVU verdicts, and how the County Administrative Court handles indications of that a child is living in an honor-related context. To answer this, five verdicts have been analyzed. In addition to this, two interviews were made as a complement. In the analysis of the collected material, the authors proceeded from a theory of evidence and used a hermeneutic method for the analysis.

The purpose of this study is to perform an in-depth analysis of what effects a privatization of a service organization has on the management control system within the organization. The paper studies a service organization which provides service for the county council in Östergötland, Sweden. The result is based on interviews with several people, both within the acquiring private company and also within the county council in Östergötland, and analyzed using Samuelson?s (2005) framework from his study ?Organizational, Governance and Control ?. The major finding in the thesis is that the factors that have had the largest impact on the changes in management control are the new owner demands and the degree of operationalization of the overall goal..

The implementation of integration policy has in recent times been a major problem for the municipal administrations in Swedish municipalities. The concept of integration is considered to be very diffuse, difficult to apply and implement the following decisions. To understand the concept of integration is the first step, followed by understanding its complexity in an organization.In this study, I focus on studying the implementation of integration policies for integration work with Kalmar Municipality as a case study. I am using Lundquist's implementation theory about understanding, able and willing. The survey consists primarily of interviews but also a certain document to get a perspective on how integration policy has gone into integration work with the hypothesis that it is the understanding that weaknesses of the officials in the implementation of integration policies.

This thesis will explore how swedish Talang 2010 used their strategic communication in Kalmar and Stockholm and how the effect of this work was shown in the two cities. With a focus on how the sender was working with the external communication in the two cities, the heart of the research was studying Talang 2010?s communication strategy in these two contexts. The research was made with surveys during two audition days in Kalmar and two days in Stockholm. The competitors, the audience and the general public were answering different surveys but with the same base to study the effect.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the use of social media by the Swedish Police for democratic purposes. The idea of citizen empowerment is closely related to the development of new communication technologies such as social media. Yet many studies indicate that governmental institutions rarely make use of the assumed potentials of social media.In this study, the democratic potential of social media is derived from Habermas normative concept of deliberative participation. Operational definitions emphasize discursive equality, interactive reciprocity and external impact. The analytical framework is combined with qualitative text analysis to highlight the conditions of interaction between representatives of the Police and citizens.In conclusion: the democratic potential of social media, from a Habermasian point of view, is to a significant extent neglected at the expense of its strategic advantages.

Syfte: Att studera bakomliggande faktorer som påverkar hur den vuxna befolkningen upplever sin nuvarande och framtida orala hälsa. Material och metod: Uppsatsen består av en litteraturstudie vilken kombineras med analyser av delar av en enkätundersökning som genomfördes 2011 och omfattar Kalmar län och, i denna uppsats, specifikt Emmaboda och Kalmar kommuner. Resultat: Litteraturstudien resulterade i ett urval artiklar som berör bakomliggande faktorer relaterade till munhälsa. Analyserna av enkäten visade att Emmaboda i jämförelse med Kalmar hade en högre förekomst av faktorer som hypotetiskt kan påverka munhälsan negativt. Respondenterna i Emmaboda hade även en mer negativ uppfattning om sin munhälsa.
