Utveckling av en Multi-Zonsmodell för NOx Bildning i Diesel Motorer
This thesis work is the last part of the Master of Science education inmechanical engineering at KTH, Stockholm.The aim of this project was the development of a Multi-zone modelfor NOxformation in Diesel engines. Because of the stringent emissionlegislations, great effort is made to decrease the fuel consumption and theharmful emissions of internal combustion engines. Computer simulationsplay a decisive role in this context because they substitute the expensiveand time-consuming laboratory tests.The model is based on a multi-zone approach and uses the wellknownExtended Zeldovich Mechanism which gives a relation to calculatethe NO formation rate using the concentration of different gas speciesinvolved in the process.All the most important phenomena involved in the Diesel combustionhave been modelled. A special attention is then paid to the equilibriumconcentration calculation; this is a significant part of the model whichstrongly influences the following steps.A Simulink model has also been developed. This second version isbased on the previous model and it is made especially to allow theconnection with other external softwares, GT-power in this case.

The general aim of this paper is to describe how the European Union can affect and transfer their conditionality politics to the Western Balkan countries. A specific purpose of this study is to describe and explain what we in this paper consider to be a specific additional membership criterion, regional cooperation that has been especially designed for this region. The point of departure for this paper is Europeanization theory that will be used to study the European Union?s impact on non EU-members in Europe. The theoretical Europeanization mechanisms are taken from Heather Grabbes ?Europeanization model?.
Den särskilda kvinnan: En feministisk analys av Universella decimalklassifikationen
The aim of this thesis is to, from a feminist point of view, analyse the Universal Decimal Classification UDC, which is an international and widely used classification system. A number of the larger classification systems and subject heading lists have during the last decades been placed in the limelight of various gender studies and the systems treatment of women has been criticized. With this examination of the UDC, I dont merely wish to identify shortcomings and advantages with the UDCs way to treat men and women. The UDC is also used as an example of how the gender problem can be identified and interpretated in classification systems generally. My analysis is performed with a theoretical foundation in feminist science theories about knowledge and norms, together with a linguistic perspective on valuing and emotionally tinged language.
Dataspelsarvet - klassiker och kanonisering
This master thesis deals with computer game classics and a possible computer game canon. It looks closer at four computer game genres - adventure, RPG, action and strategy - in order to discern which games are considered classics and what characterizes them. To answer the first question a quantitative research method was used. 675 computer game reviews from 5 Internetsites were examined in order to see which games are mentioned most often in this context and therefore might be considered classics. To answer the second question a qualitative research method was used.
En studie av samspel mellan elever i behov av särskilt stöd, i klassen respektive lilla gruppen
Den teoretiska utgångspunkt som denna undersökning grundar sig på är Vygotskijs teori om samspelets betydelse för lärande. Vygotskij menade att individen lär sig mer i samspel med mer kompetenta individer än vad de kan göra själva. Syftet var att med detta examensarbete undersöka några elever som anses vara i behov av särskilt stöd och se på hur de samspelar med kamraterna i den stora klassen, samt hur samspelet ser ut då de arbetar i liten grupp med specialpedagogen.
En kvalitativ undersökningsmetod användes där observationer av tre elever i behov av särskilt stöd i en åldersintegrerad tre-fyra klass, studerats. Detta uppföljdes med semistrukturerade intervjuer av klasslärare och specialpedagog, där syftet var att få en inblick i deras tankar kring samspel och hur de upplever att samspel sker i undervisningen. Undersökningen visade på att det fanns samspel mellan eleverna i båda gruppkonstellationerna, och att detta skedde spontant utan att pedagogerna påpekade för eleverna att de kunde ta hjälp av varandra.
Specialpedagogik i en annorlunda miljö : En studie om en handikappskola i en av Kairos sopstäder
In one of six garbage collectors area in Cairo, Esbet el Nakhl, there's a handicap school run by the Coptic church. We chose to study this school using observations and interviews. The purpose of our thesis has been to describe the school, the goals of the education and the educational forms. The questions we asked our selves before the trip to Cairo were; how does the school look like? What's a garbage collectors area? How do the teachers educate the children? How's the situation for the handicapped children?We spent six days of observations and interviews at the school gathering information for the thesis.
Vad är ett E-Arkiv? : En fallstudie på E-Arkiv Stockholm
The aim of this thesis in Archival Science was to explore the concept of electronic archives and the challenges that might be encountered when attempting to move archives into a new digital age, as well as having a closer look at the term e-archive itself. Another aim was to explore how the OAIS reference model works in practice.To explore these questions I decided to do a case study on E-Arkiv Stockholm, a functioning e-archive. I decided to do a study on several documents that were created throughout the project, these included documents related to the planning of the archive, as well as the final report. My reason for this method was that these docu-ments came straight from reality and would give a clear and unbiased view of the project and it?s many aspects.Examination of the documents showed that the OAIS reference model and its concepts had been the foun-dation of much of the planning.
Sanningskommission och specialdomstol - ett komplement till varandra i skapandet av transitionell rättvisa? En fallstudie om ansvarsutkrävande av krigsförbrytelser och brott mot mänskligheten i Sierra Leone
Denna uppsats är en fallstudie som har för avsikt att undersöka relationen mellan The Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission och Special Court for Sierra Leone. De båda organen upprättades för att bemöta krigsförbrytelser och brott mot mänskligheten som begicks under inbördeskriget 1991-2002. Syftet är att analysera huruvida sannings- och försoningskommissionen och specialdomstolen kan ses som ett komplement till varandra i skapandet av transitionell rättvisa eller om det finns något som tyder på att man måste göra ett val mellan dem.Uppsatsens teoretiska utgångspunkt är att en kombination av juridiska och icke-juridiska metoder är nödvändig för att man ska kunna tala om rättvisa i ett större sammanhang. De olika metoderna fyller båda sin funktion i strävan efter rättvisa i ett post-konflikt samhälle. Slutsatserna som kan dras av fallet Sierra Leone är att sannings- och försoningskommissionen och specialdomstolen utgjort ett komplement till varandra.

The aim of this master thesis is to obtain a greater understanding of childrens choice of favourite books, insight in their reading experiences and their thoughts about the reading of these books. We also want to investigate if, and if so, how childrens librarians obtain knowledge of the childrens reading preferences and reading experiences and how they use this knowledge in their work to stimulate childrens reading. To reach our aim we have been carrying out quantitative interviews with six children aged nine to ten years and three childrens librarians working in public libraries. As a theoretical starting point we use the reader-oriented theory and Chambers Reading circle, which states that support from adults is the most important factor in the childs reading process. The empirical results are linked to theories and earlier research and are analysed under four different themes.

There exist laws and directives which the businesses have to follow, but beyond this the organisations are quite free to prioritise and to decide what the best is for the community as a whole unit. The municipality has access to different tools which purpose is to help them running the organization as good as possible, so they can create a well-operated business. This is very important, regarding that the tax money should be spent in an effective way, and be able to do so it is required good and well-functioned system of control.A big change has happened when the instrument BSC (Balanced Scorecard) was introduced in certain municipality. In this essay the focus lies on two municipalities, Vellinge and Kristianstad.

This Master's thesis aims at pinpointing the political arguments that appear in the recent debate on scientific publication. There is a widely spread opinion that prices on digital resources are far too high, thus taking up a major part of the University libraries budget, while publishing companies make high profits. It is also a common opinion that the current publishing method does not take full advantage of the possibilities of electronic publishing. Lately a number of alternative ways of publishing have been initiated and discussed, generally referred to as open access. Open access published material is available free of charge and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions on the public internet.In this thesis the minutes from four hearings held by the UK House of Commons in the spring of 2004 are examined.
EU om olagligt och skadligt innehåll på Internet. En diskursteoretisk analys
This thesis analyses how the European Unions institutions deal with the issue of illegal and harmful content on the Internet in key documents presented during the period 19961999. Particular attention is attached to content where the legal status is determined in relation to the user and to content that is legal, but characterized as harmful and entailing a need for special protective measures. The theoretical and methodological approach draws on discourse theory as formulated by Laclau and Mouffe. The thesis studies how the problem is represented in key documents from the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, the European Parliament, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, with particular regard to the discourse on harmfulness, the child and Europe. The findings are that the overall discourse has shifted focus over time, from an emphasis on the protection of minors toward a more market-oriented discourse stressing the importance of protecting the competitiveness of the European economy.

The technical evolution has a great influence on the public libraries. Electronic media becomes more and more common. This Master´s thesis is based upon the Swedish Library law 9§ (SFS 1996:1596) which says: Public- and school libraries should pay special attention to children and teenagers by offering books, information technology and other media, adapted to their needs, to encourage development of language and stimulate reading. From this point of view we have examined why the children´s departments in public libraries offer CD-ROM games which are based upon characters from the literature, how they are used in the daily activity and how they can contribute to the development of the children´s department.We have made literary studies and empirical investigations including interviews, observation studies etc. The results from this studies shows that both young and adults appreciate the CD-ROM games.
