The memory of expulsions among the expelling groups has been fairly studied, and has potential to create new conflicts. This qualitative study uses in-depth interviews to describe the memory of the 6-7 September events and the Greek minority in Istanbul among a group of Turkish descent people living in Beyoglu, Istanbul. Further the study compares the memory with the written history and explains why the memories of the past are shaped according to the present. The Greek minority of Istanbul are remembered in words of friendship and neighbourliness, but these memories are rather a nostalgia of the past for present needs than an image of the past itself. The memories of the events among the studied group are dominated by the general destruction occasioned by the riots but tend to contradict the violence towards the Greek minority.

I meet in my work as art teacher many students of different descent, were they, or their parents, have different school experience than the Swedish. This, in combination with therecent discussion after the Muhammad caricatures about the banning of images in Islamic religion, made me curious to study what art education in a Muslim country looked like. I went to visit the Maramra Egitim Köyü school in Istanbul, Turkey, and especially their art classesfrom grade five to eight, which are the same age of students that I have been working with thelast ten years. This was my first visit to Turkey.The question I ask is: What does the practice of Turkish art education look like, using the Marmara school as an example. Which discourses can I identify in the art teacher practice? What surprised me the most was the frequent visual exposure of the founder of the Turkishstate, Kemal Atatürk.

Todays travel trends go towards independence and self planning. If you need advice or help when performing your trip, there are several different series of guidebooks on the market and one of these series comes from the travel magazine Vagabond. This degree project concerns the redesigning of the travelguides of Vagabond, or to be precise: their cityguide over Istanbul. The purpose of the new design is to assure the resemblance between the guidebook and the magazine, as wanted by the Art Director of Vagabond Angelica Zander.Prior to the redesigning process preliminary studies that make up the fundamental ideas were made. Three other big titles of guidebooks on the market were analyzed, and in addition a great deal of focus ? considering the final purpose ? was put on the concept of magazine design.

I den här studien har Stockholms potential till att presentera ett internationellt shoppingevent undersökts. Studien har haft fokus på framförandet av festivaler med utgångspunkt Istanbul Shopping Festival i Turkiet, som anses vara en stor mode- och shoppingfestival i en växande modestad. Det är väsentligt för studien att använda en redan existerande internationell shoppingfestival som inspirationskälla..

Personlighetstest avser att mäta olika personlighetsdrag, olika egenskaper som formar individens personlighet. Personlighetstestet Predicting Job Performance, PJP, bygger på den så kallade ?femfaktormodellen? inom personlighetspsykologin och på studier av hur generell problemlösnings-förmåga påverkar arbetsprestation. PJP är ett arbetspsykologiskt instrument för användning i urval av arbetssökande. I föreliggande studie har personlighets-delen i PJP översatts till turkiska med syftet att utforska en turkisk version av instrumentets reliabilitet samt begrepps-validitet.
