Introduction: Although life expectancy had increased in Sweden for many decades and several health problems had diminished over time, there was no change in men's risk behaviour regarding for instance high alcohol and tobacco consumption. Many of the gender differences in health that existed in society explained were due to power structures and beliefs about behaviour based on gender; a social construction that resulted in the relatively high valuation of men with a more masculine behaviour. Aim: This literature review aimed to study and identify the scientific knowledge regarding paternity leave and its impact on men's health. Method: A literature- based study design was used and the material consisted of peer-reviewed articles from which six themes were identified: alcohol, tobacco, stress, Isolation, social support and mortality risk. Results: Divided into three parts, the results described the socioeconomic background of the men who took paternity leave, as well as the impact of paternity leave and masculinity as an impact on men's health.

Syfte och frågeställningarDenna studie är en ungdomsundersökning genomförd i Longyearbyen på Svalbard, som syftar till att undersöka fritidskulturer hos ungdomar mellan 14-19 år. Ungdomarna ger sin syn på tillvaron i förhållande till sig själva och sin omgivning och beskriver fritidskulturen och de möjligheter till personlig utveckling som finns.FrågeställningarHur ser fritidskulturen ut i Longyearbyen enligt ungdomarna? Vilka resurser och lokaler finns till förfogande och vad prioriteras hos myndigheter? Är unga tillfredställda med fritidsutbudet och vad som prioriteras? Finns förutsättningarna till att skapa sig den identiteten man önskar i Longyearbyen?MetodUndersökningen är baserad på kvalitativa intervjuer av 9 ungdomar som alla studerade i olika årskurser vid Longyearbyen Skole och har bott i byn under olika lång tid. Intervjuerna har sedan sammanställts och analyserats enligt ett antal teoretiska begrepp och satts i perspektiv till tidigare forskning på området ungdomskulturer.ResultatResultatet visar en ungdomskultur som skiljer sig mot fastlandet och som rör sig som en stor enhet. Identitet och status tar också helt olika utryck i byn som präglas av nära vänskap, närheten till natur och snöskoterkultur.

Forming teacher teams is currently the standard way of organizing teachers in Swedish Compulsory Schools. This is the result of a process that started in the 1970s.Traditionally the culture of teaching has been one of Isolation. Once the door to the classroom is shut, what happens behind the door is up to the teacher to decide. Over the past thirty years a lot of time has been dedicated to making fundamental changes in the way teachers interact with their colleagues. Today the idea of teachers forming teams is generally accepted but still the core of a Swedish teacher?s job is that of a lone worker.

Stroke är den vanligast förekommande sjukdomen i Sverige med cirka 30 000 insjuknanden per år. Ur ett svenskt och internationellt perspektiv är stroke den största orsaken till en icke medfödd funktionsnedsättning hos vuxna individer. Motorisk funktionsnedsättning efter stroke påverkar patienters förmåga att utföra aktiviteter i dagliga livet (ADL). Det inverkar på patienters upplevelse av livet och livskvalité. En begränsning av kroppskontroll medför även en förändrad relation till kroppen.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the combination of bibliographic coupling and three hierarchical cluster analytic techniques: average, complete and single linkage. Bibliographic coupling is applied as a measure of similarity between recently published articles and the cluster techniques are used for the partition of a set of articles into subsets of articles with similar research focus. The field of information science is applied as the test arena and the selection of data, i.e., the article population to be partitioned, is based on a number of central journals. Methods of evaluation include both quantitative approaches as well as a qualitative one. For comparing the resulting partitions, adjusted Rand index is utilized and for the establishment of cluster coherence and Isolation, measures of average normalized coupling strength is applied.

 Sammanfattning Studien syftade till att belysa hur vuxna patienter som isolerats på en infektionsavdelning upplever sin vårdtid. Den ville även utröna om patienterna från sitt perspektiv kunde ge några förslag på hur vårdprocessen skulle kunna förbättras. Fem informanter valdes ut genom bekvämlighetsurval och intervjuades utifrån en strukturerad frågeguide innehållande både faktafrågor, åsiktsfrågor och känslolägesfrågor. Den insamlade informationen bearbetades genom innehållsanalys. Denna process ledde fram till sex kategorier av vikt.

This paper used a qualitative technique from a social scientific perspective, a model based on Hewitt and his theory of the self-concept. The purpose of this study was to investigate why some elite athletes experience troublesome periods after their career ending. Interviews were performed with five elite athletes with varying experiences after career ending. The length of the elite athlete careers vary between 7 to 17 years. Two groups were made based upon experiences after career ending.

The number of people in the world and the urbanization increases. This leads to a bigger need of space for the built environment, space that soon doesn?t exist. A large portion of humanity?s energy disposal is used for heating of buildings.

The search for antibiotic compounds from the natural environment has been going on for seven decades, ever since penicillin entered the market and antibiotic treatments became routine. The evolutionary pressure put on the pathogenic microorganisms induced a rapid spreading of naturally occurring resistance genes, leaving only the option of finding new antibiotics to treat the resistant pathogens. Microorganisms have been extensively mined for their biosynthetic abilities to produce biologically active compounds. To date, more than 23 000 microbial natural products have been discovered. The Actinomycetales are ubiquitous bacteria that have been used for antibiotic discovery for more than half a century, and over 10 000 natural products have been identified from the order.

The Egyptian religion viewed the whole world as divine and inhabited by both gods and men. Concepts such as death was therefore explained through myths. The ancient society feared death but desired an eternal life. The Egyptians saw death as a physical dismemberment of the body as had happened in the myth of Osiris when death was first introduced to the world. Osiris functioned as a prototype for all men as he had overcome death by finding a new existence in the netherworld.

Syftet med denna rapport är att visa hur en ökning av isolertjockleken i ett hus påverkar kostnader och energiåtgång för isoleringen i ett livscykelperspektiv, samt för husets bruksskede. I studien har en optimering av isoleringen på ett pågående byggprojekt i Växjö, kv Limnologen, utförts. Total energiåtgång för isoleringens livscykel har tagits fram från tidigare utförda livscykelanalyser (LCA). Husets värmebehov har beräknats mha information från ritningar och kontakter med personer i anknytning till kv Limnologen. En ekvation har utformats för att finna ett teoretiskt optimum för isolertjockleken med inriktning mot total energiåtgång, koldioxidutsläpp och ekonomi.

Bakgrund: Meticillinresistenta Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) ökar drastiskt inom sjukvården både i Sverige och i hela världen. Bakterien sprids vanligast från patient till patient via vårdpersonal då restriktioner om basala hygienrutiner inte följs. Att bli smittad med MRSA kan leda till svåra konsekvenser för patienter i form av infektioner i operationssår, i implanterade proteser, på hjärtklaffar, i lungorna och på hjärnhinnor. Patienter med MRSA vårdas i isolering för att förebygga att MRSA sprids vidare, vilket kan orsaka lidande hos patienter. Syfte: Denna uppsats syftar till att beskriva patienters upplevelser av MRSA-vård. Metod: Nio vetenskapliga kvalitativa artiklar ligger till grund för denna litteraturöversikt. Artiklarna har analyserats och sammanställts och nya teman uppkom efter de likheter som framkom i deras resultatdelar. Resultat: Resultatet visar att vårdandet förändrades efter MRSA-diagnos.

People in Sweden have more and more dogs in their care, and several of these dogs are kept in kennels in back yards for various reasons. According to Swedish animal welfare legislations the need for social contact for dogs has to be met. However, there are few details presented on how to meet the need and when it can be considered satisfied. Does the dog need human contact to fulfill the need, or is the company of other dogs enough? This study aims to specify what can be acceptable when it comes to fulfilling dogs? social needs in accordance with the Swedish animal welfare legislation.
