In light of the European Union`s 2012 theme year: Active aging and solidarity between generations I wished to gain an understanding of weather elderly immigrant are provided with equal possibilities and access to local community information as the majority population and their participation in activities arranged for senior citizens in the municipality where they live. I have done this by meeting with those who work in this capacity. I also chose to meet with representatives for immigrant organizations in the local community to enquire of their work with senior citizens within their own ethnic group. This is a qualitative study on a phenomenological ground based on nine interviews and four observations. I have had two theories to help me analyze my empirical material.

Valmets own foundry in Karlstad has during a long period of time had problems being profitable. The goal today is to turn this around. Today there are three different productionlines; engine blocks, Yankeecylinders and components for the wind turbine industry. This master thesis has focused on examining if value stream mapping is a useful tool to use in a foundry, and therefore outside the typical manufacturing industry. The target has also been to evaluate if there is a possibility to improve the flow in the foundry and also the results.During the 20 weeks this work has been done at the foundry data has been collected and analyzed.

Människor som lever som papperslösa, det vill säga utan uppehållsrätt i Sverige, är en mycket utsatt grupp människor som lever under svåra och osäkra förhållanden. Det råder idag en stor kunskapsbrist och osäkerhet, både på socialtjänsten, bland papperslösa själva och även bland frivilligorganisationer vilka rättigheter de papperslösa faktiskt har och vilken hjälp de kan få från socialtjänsten. Vi har i vår studie, genom intervjuer med både socialsekreterare och människor som lever som papperslösa, undersökt vilka anledningar det kan finnas till att dessa två grupper sällan möts. Genom intervjuerna med socialsekreterarna, samt en juridisk kartläggning har vi även undersökt vilka juridiska och praktiska möjligheter respektive hinder socialtjänsten har att bevilja bistånd till papperslösa. Vi har även frågat om förändringar som de båda grupperna vill se.

The idea for the thesis ?Construction and implementation of a mobile prototype; The Lovebomb? originates from doctoral candidates Rebecca Hansson and Tobias Skog from PLAY Research Group at the Interactive Institute in Gothenburg. The object of the master thesis is to construct two working LoveBomb prototypes, one mother console belonging to the LoveBomb and blueprints for both. Renal dysplasi (RD) is a congenital chronic renal disease affecting young dogs. It is a rather common disease that occurs in a large number of dogs and in some breeds there is a familiar incidence or suspected hereditary background. Both the etiology and pathogenesis are still unknown, but a theory about the cause of RD is that the two components that form the kidney, the uretheric bud and the metanephrogenic blastema, don´t interact normally in the embryo. Kidneys affected by RD contain fetal (immature) structures that are inappropriate for the state of development/age of the dog and abnormal structures caused by an abnormal differentiation. Utbildningen är inriktad mot geologi och det avslutande arbetet ska ha anknytning till ämnet. Under våren 2012 presenterade representanter för LKAB förslaget att basera examensarbetet på att dokumentera hållfastheten hos bergarter från Kiirunavaaras liggvägg med hjälp av punktlasttestning. Tidigare undersökningar av hållfastheten hos bergarterna i Kiirunavaara har främst gjorts genom enaxiella tryckhållfasthetsmätningar. Det finns ett behov av att undersöka hållfastheten hos bergarterna i Kiirunavaara då gruvbrytningen sker djupare ned i jordskorpan och kraven på säkerheten ständigt ökar.
