This thesis explores the narrow spaces between closely built houses in the over 300-year-old wooden town center of Mariestad, Sweden, and their potential as time capsules and sources of knowledge in cultural-historical building investigations. By interpreting well-preserved carpentry work on a facade in one of these spaces, the study aims to provide an example of how these preserved spaces can serve as a source of knowledge and understanding of craftsmanship and the history of the place. The thesis also addresses the municipality of Mariestad's work with cultural heritage, as well as maps out more of these potentially interesting interstitial spaces. Old Swedish wooden towns possess a high degree of uniqueness both nationally and internationally; nevertheless, they are subjected to relatively significant threats of demolitions and substantial changes, often in the form of many smaller restorations or changes over a long period of time. The focus of the case study is a window from the 16th or 17th century and the facade's old, hand planed wooden cladding.

This study explores the relatively new phenomenon of online poker. More specifically, it elaborates on who the online poker player is, why s/he plays online poker, what the fascination of the game is, why s/he continues to play, and what the experience is. The study is delimited to focus on individuals who mainly play Texas hold?em online. The empirical material is based on semi-structured interviews with active online poker players, as well as on secondary data such as articles and literature.

We aim to develop knowledge of how new technology, in this case social media, can contribute to how sports fans interact with their idols. Therefore our framing of a question is to present how fans experience their contact with mixed martial arts (MMA) & ultimate fighting championship (UFC) through social media platforms. To specify our study, we also have a supplement question with in which way sports fans uses social media.We have chosen to conduct a qualitative study consisting of interviews and data observations of websites, related to the organization UFC, to approach our main question. We have interviewed nine randomly selected people with one common interest - MMA/UFC. With an implant of theories, consisting of social media, fandom and lurking, on the result of the interview and website data, we try to come closer to a conclusion for our intention with this thesis.Our conclusion is that the interviewed fans express that through the usage of social media, they feel like they have come closer to UFC.

The purpose of this study is to see how secondary schools in Skelleftea? County market themselves in order to attract students. How the schools portrait themselfs, what is in focus in the information material and how the schools communicate their message to the students who are about to choose schools are the questions asked. The study contains both municipal secondary schools and independent secondary schools. A text analysis has been implemented on texts from the schools websites and interviews were conducted with five respondents from the municipal secondary schools.

Studiens syfte är att få en förståelse om hur förskollärarna förhåller sig till de yngsta barnens bildskapande. Med de yngsta barnen menar jag i åldrarna 1-2 år. För att ta reda på detta har jag använt mig av kvalitativa intervjuer med nio förskollärare på sju olika förskolor inom två olika kommuner i södra Sverige. Resultatet visar på vikten av att förhålla sig till alla barns villkor och behov. Då 1-2 åringar möter de flesta material för första gången så är det viktigt som pedagog att utgå ifrån barnens behov för att barnen ska känna sig säkra i sig själva.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine the opinion about school libraries among principals at the independent schools in the municipality of Lund. In order to fulfil my purpose I used a qualitative method with an introductory questionnaire, which gave background material to the interviews. All seven principals answered the questionnaire and five of them agreed to participate in an interview. Another two interviews were made with two informants, this material was included in the background material. As theoretical framework I have used literature about the school library development, the role of the principal for development and David V.

The aim of this master's thesis is to present an introduction to semiological analysis of web based material, which is a hypothesis that combines the theoretical framework of classical Saussurean semiology, visual social semiotics as was developed by Günther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen, and Roland Barthes's notion of 'Myths'. Furthermore, a new tool called 'pseudo-signifier', constructed solely for the thesis, is also used in conjunction with the semiological analysis. The hypothesis is tested in a case study involving the web portal of a Swedish commune, Gothenburg (goteborg.se). A complete semiological analysis is performed on the case. The case study revealed numerous findings of interest, among others that images and texts on the web portal were sometimes used in a contradicting manner, and often in a way that symbollically excluded citizens from the portal, a fact which could be uncovered when studying underlying myths that permeated the web portal.

Studiens syfte är att undersöka vad verksamma pianopedagoger har för erfarenheter av gruppundervisning och samspelsmöjligheter för nybörjarpianoelever. I bakgrundskapitlet ges en överblick vad som finns skrivit om samspel, pianogruppundervisning, traditioner inom pianoundervisning och material för grupper. Därefter följer en presentation av tidigare forskning inom ämnesområdet. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten för studien utgörs av det sociokulturella perspektivet på lärarande och kommunikation.Det insamlade datamaterialet består av kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra verksamma pianopedagoger som har erfarenheter av samspel och gruppundervisning för piano. I resultatkapitlet beskrivs informanternas erfarenheter av gruppundervisning, samspel, förutsättningar och material.

Using biofuels from regeneration cuttings is becoming more common in Sweden. Ash from the combustion of biofuels contains many valuable nutrients and base cations. The Swedish Forest Agency recommends that ash should be recycled to clearings where biofuels have been removed, to avoid future impoverishment of Swedish woodlands. In Jämtland, in northern Sweden, a large quantity of biofuels are taken out from cuttings but ash recycling has not yet been tried. The aim of this thesis was to examine the conditions for ash recycling in Jämtland regarding to soil chemistry and heavy metal content in soil and biofuels.

Ytmonteringsavsnittet är en av de första länkarna i Flextronics Västerås Operations produktionskedja för kretskort. Det är relativt oflexibelt vad gäller kapacitetsanpassning inom en tidshorisont kortare än tre månader. Ledningen för ytmonteringsavsnittet har på grund av variationer i kundernas efterfrågan och störningar i materialtillförseln svårt att anpassa ytmonteringsavsnittets produktionskapacitet. Syftet med examensarbetet är att skapa en hållbar simuleringsmodell för kapacitetsplanering av verkstadens ytmonteringsavsnitt. Genom att kunna simulera det framtida kapacitetsbehovet ska ledningen förbättra planeringen av ytmonteringsavsnittets resurser.

Denna undersökning handlade om mobila förskolans verksamhet där barnen hade möjlighet att vistas på varierande platser i naturen. I studien lade jag fokus på barnens egna initierade aktiviteter som skedde på olika platser och i olika miljöer och deras interaktion med naturen. Syftet av detta arbete var att undersöka betydelse av den mobila förskolans platsvariation när det gäller barnens egenvalda aktiviteter i naturen. I undersökningen används följande frågeställningar:? Vilka aktiviteter väljer barnen på olika uteplatser och i olika miljöer?? Hur använder de miljö och material?? Vilken betydelse har variationen av plats och miljö när det gäller barnens val av aktiviteter?För att få svar på frågeställningarna åkte jag under en fyra dagars period i en buss som hörde till en mobil förskola och observerade barnens aktiviteter i varierande miljöer och platser med hjälp av ett observationsschema.

Syftet med arbetet har varit att ge underlag för minskning av organiskt material i dricksvattnet. Följande frågor besvaras:? Påverkar aktiverad kiselsyra reduktionen av organiskt material? Påverkar beredningen av den aktiverade kiselsyran reduktionen av organiskt material? Kan den aktiverade kiselsyran ersättas med aluminiumsulfat? Vilka effekter innebär en ersättning av aktiverad kiselsyra med aluminiumsulfatNorsborgs vattenverk tar råvatten från Mälaren och reningsprocessen innefattar mekanisk, kemisk och biologisk rening. I den kemiska reningen används aluminiumsulfat och aktiverad kiselsyra.

Detta arbete handlar om med vilka material som det ballistiska skyddet mot finkalibriga projektiler kan förbättras på befintliga svenska ytstridsfartyg. Eftersom det befintliga fartygets konstruktion i sig innehar en viss skyddsförmåga (grundskydd) behöver denna inledningsvis beskrivas för att definiera utgångspunkt.Att förbättra skyddsförmågan genom att komplettera den redan befintliga konstruktionen med tilläggsskydd innebär att fartyg får helt förändrade förutsättningar att klara av nya hot och uppgifter och därmed också få en förbättrad livslängd.Genom att studera för- och nackdelar hos olika tekniska lösningar framkommer vilka som är realistiska.Fartyg kommer sannolikt att utrustas med olika material eftersom ytor- och utrymmen kommer att behöva prioriteras.
