This is a qualitative study based on interviews with teachers, social workers and school counselors ? with aim to analyze how norm critical social work is in schools. Gender and sexuality norms are in focus which is analyzed in a intersectional and queer theoretical perspective. The study shows that what is defined as a norm in the society varies both socially, historically and culturally. School is a reflection of its society and therefore also reflects its norms, such as heteronormativity and gender roles.

C-uppsats i dramapedagogik, Akademin för utbildning och ekonomi, Högskolan i Gävle.Syftet med undersökningen är att belysa och problematisera vad det kan innebära för dramapedagoger att arbeta utifrån ett normkritiskt förhållningssätt. Det undersöks med frågeställningarna:- Hur går det att förstå och tolka dramapedagogers erfarenhet av att arbeta normkritiskt? - Vilka strategier går det att finna i dramapedagogers normkritiska arbete? - Vilka styrkor för att arbeta normkritiskt går det att finna inom dramapedagogiken? - Finns det några svårigheter i mötet mellan dramapedagogik och normkritisk pedagogik?Undersökningen är kvalitativ med en hermeneutisk ansats som utgår från queer- och Intersektionalitetsteorier och anti-opressive education.

Denna kvalitativa studie har som syfte att undersöka hur de betydelser av genuset kvinna som förmedlas av chilenska dagstidningar mottas av kvinnor i Chile; detta satt i relation till kvinnornas egna situationer i livet och positioner i strukturerna. Den består dels av en analys av tidningsartiklar där kvinnor förekommer, dels av intervjuer med åtta chilenskor om hur de uppfattar dessa. Fokus i analysen av intervjuerna ligger på vilka variabler intervjupersonerna associerar kring gällande kvinnorna i artiklarna, på huruvida de uppfattar dem som handlande subjekt eller ej samt på huruvida de intervjuade kvinnornas uppfattningar kan kopplas till faktorer som klass/samhällsgrupp, etnicitet, ålder, moderskap och äktenskap/samboende gällande dem själva. Inga entydiga slutsatser kan dras. Faktorerna klass/samhällsgrupp, äktenskap/samboende och moderskap tycks dock vara av större betydelse än ålder och etnicitet för de intervjuade kvinnornas mottagande av artiklarna..

Female musicians and actors are being disadvanteged in the music industry, because of standards that prevents women from participating on equal terms. Unequal distribution of resources and status depends on power structures which creates an hierarchy. This study is about how an organization, Femtastic, works for equality and diversity in the field of music, how they experience their positions and their possibilities. Also how they relate to the cultural policy objectives. Femtastic is trying to create a structural change in the male-dominated music industry.

Sweden has an active and growing culture of feminist comic book artists that use comedy as a mean of disseminating political ideas and critic. In this essay I do a reparative reading of Sara Granér?s comic book All I Want for Christmas is planekonomi in order to find out if it advocates alternative orders and/or ways of expression. By exploring what the comic book does to me as a reader and how, using the term ?skev? ? a hybrid of queer that examines normativity not strictly tied to sexuality ? and gulesque theory ? a mix of feminism, cuteness, the grotesque and riot grrrl ?, I show that the comic book, through the use of comedy, works as a trojan My Little Pony, reclaiming the girly franchise, while challenging several so-called dichotomies, such as: femininity/masculinity; youth/adult; high art/kitsch.

The aim of this paper is to examine how teachers experience their possibilities to develop democratic teaching in high school and how they reflect upon their position of power within the teaching situation. Four professional high school teachers have been interviewed for the study. The theoretical perspective of the study is an intersectional view on power and a view on democratic teaching which is partly built on the high school curriculum, but mainly defined by deliberative conversations, anti-oppressive education and norm-critical education. The result of the study is focused on three themes, which were shown in the analysis of the interviews. These themes are: choices of teaching content,  authority of the teacher and democratic teaching.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka hurorganisationer som arbetar med jämställdhet förhåller sig till feminism. Vidare var det även av intresse för oss att se hur de valda organisationernas begreppsdiskussioner kring feminism och jämställdhet hängde ihop med hur man inom organisationerna förhöll sigtilltitulering och marknadsföring. De teoretiska utgångspunkter vi hade var institutionell teori, Intersektionalitet och tidigare forskning som berörde feministisk titulering och marknadsföring. Då vi samlade in vår empiri använde vi oss av ett kvalitativt angreppssätt och utförde semistrukturerade intervjuer med sju respondenter som representerarfem organisationer. Dessa organisationer valde vi med hjälp av ett målstyrt urval där vi hade som krav att de uttryckligen skulle arbeta med jämställdhet.De huvudsakliga resultaten studien visade var att det inte finns några direkt enhetliga åsikter om vare sig de begrepp som diskuterades eller titulering och marknadsföring kopplat till feminism.

The purpose of this study is to examine how adolescents can participate and have influence in the society, by making obstacles and opportunities that are considered central for their possibilities to power visible. National and international research indicates that adolescents opportunities to participation and influence are limited by the structures of society. A qualitative method was chosen, in which group interviews were made with 14 youths in development areas in Örebro. Theories are presented which constitute tools for analysis of the obtained results and has been chosen based on power- and participation perspective. An analytical model has been used to illuminate what kind of participation adolescents have in different parts of the society, where the concepts from the theoretical perspectives, power and participation are inserted.

This thesis analyzes the media debates generated by the election of Omar Mustafa to the board of the social democratic party, and the appointment of the conservative Minister of Labour, Elisabeth Svantesson. More specifically, the aim is to analyze newspaper material through a discourse analyze, to see if and how religious affiliation effects the possibilities to act as a political representative. Theories of othering and intersectionality serve as theoretical points of departure. Further, chains of equivalence from Laclau and Mouffe?s discourse theory are used to study how categories as ?us? and ?the other? are constructed in the material, and how these processes of categorization relate to the intersection of religion, gender and ethnicity.

The study aims to evaluate how teachers in my research have reasoned regarding gender and gender equality, notions on ethnicity, and specific conceptions or constructions on ?swedish-ness? and ?immigrants?. The vital point in this study will be to examine the relationship be-tween gender equality, ethnocentrism and racism. The question formulation that I have ap-plied are: On what grounds teachers conceive the concepts of gender and gender equality? How do teachers experience their work with gender equality in remedial classes? Do the teachers that work in remedial classes experience any obstacles in the pursuit of gender equal-ity in their daily work? I have used the method of qualitative interviews with five teachers in remedial classes from five different schools.

Syftet med studien som redovisas genom denna uppsats var att undersöka fenomenet asexualitet, genom att undersöka vilka normer som präglar informanternas, som identifierar sig med asexualitet eller som asexuella, berättelser om sina erfarenheter och tankar. Materialinsamlingen utfördes genom kvalitativa intervjuer med informanter som identifierar sig med asexualitet eller som asexuella och materialet analyserades genom grundad teori. I denna studie belyses aspekterna hur det är att leva som asexuell, vilka normer som genom sexualitet, ålder och genus existerar i relation till asexualiteten och vilken betydelse dessa förväntningar i form av normer får för informanterna och deras förhållningssätt till dessa normer, samt deras relation till begreppet asexuell och asexualitet som en identitet. Resultatet visar på att asexualiteten som identitet görs till en (o)möjlighet då den sexualnormativitet, de normer och begreppet asexualitet och dess mångfald gällande betydelse gör asexualiteten till både en möjlig och en omöjlig identitet..

In this study I have analysed the national tests in Swedish between the years 2006-2010. These tests are given to all students in the public schools in grade 9 and 10. I wanted to see if I identified an over-representation of a certain category of people in the texts given to the students. I analysed the texts from an intersectional perspective and I used primary Lena Martinsson (2007), Framtidens feminister and her categories and theories and Moria von Wright (1998) Genus & text- när kan man tala om jämställdhet i fysikläromedel?, and her gender categories in my study.

This study aims to examine attitudes and conceptions of staff who work with mentally disabled persons, concerning normalization and gender. Six qualitative interviews with such professionals were performed and subsequently analyzed. Since the method of this study is qualitative, no claim of generalizability is made. The interview material has been categorized into themes by means of coding. The result of the study is presented according to those themes.

The purpose of this study was to examine the laws, govern documents and guiding principals that are available for schools and their work regarding the work against discrimination, insulting and other forms of harassments, and then to form a method for the schools to implement this work in practice.The work to counteract discrimination, insult treatment and other forms of harassments should be done both in a short term and a long term. In this paper there is a presentation of a project, a set of lessons that was created and carried out as a trial. The project aims for conscious making among children and students in school regarding norm, deviation, discrimination and power and the fact that equal treatment is hard to achieve. The basic purpose behind the project is to offer a tool to schools and teachers so that they can decrease the possible gap between the laws and the practice of these laws by creating awareness among students and other teachers. The long term work for achieving equal treatment should be done on a political level.

The aim of this paper is in part to distinguish the ideas raised in the Swedish political debate on the new discrimination law in relation to protection of groups. Is protection by law against discrimination needed for the individual or the group? If it is needed for members of groups, are these groups viewed on as static or variable. Are there any conflicts present between group interests? We link these ideas to three different theoretical perspectives: multiculturalism, feminism and intersectionality and further examine the differences and contradictions between the perspectives represented by members of parliament.
