Legitimation för förskollärare : Statens strategi mot ökad professionalisering
This essay discusses the decision of licensing for nursery and school teachers. In Swedish society there has for a long time been discourse about professionalisation within various industries, including teaching. One strategy towards achieving professional status is official authorisation of a profession, which occurs when a profession obtains licensing. In February 2011, the Swedish government announced the decision that nursery and school teachers would be licensed. This means that only those with an education can be employed as a teacher and obtain that license.

Skulle du spela vidare? : En analys av narrativ och spelmekanik i episodiska spel
Episodic gaming is a relatively new phenomenon, that hasn?t been as extensively explored as other areas in game research. In this paper we research how episodic narratives and gameplay engage players compared to regular continuous storytelling. By exploring this we get a better understanding of how to design games that captivate players to the point of them wanting to play the next episode. A user study is conducted where ten players play two episodes each of an episodic game. We apply observations and interviews to capture a large amount of empirical data.
Hur ser verkligheten ut? : En studie av olika människors syn på och tankar om diskriminering och annan kränkande behandling
On the 1st April 2006 a new legislation came into effect in Sweden; The ProhibitingDiscrimination and Other Degrading Treatment of Children and Pupils Act (2006:67). TheAct is applicable to education and other activities referred to in the Education Act(1985:1100). This dissertation aims to examine how teachers work to combatdiscrimination, and establishes whether headmasters and teachers have changed their work procedures since the law came into force. In order to seek the answers to my questions I have conducted 8 qualitative interviews with headmasters and teachers from two schools in a community outside Karlstad, with both schools comprising of students from pre-school until year 6.Discrimination is not a new phenomenon in schools, but neither is the fact that it is theschools? responsibility to work against discrimination. Discrimination is still taking place, despite discrimination laws being clearly stated within the Education Act (1985:1100) andthe school curriculum.
Dubbelkönighet hos mört : normalt eller miljöinducerat?
A number of chemical agents, and their degradation products, have been
recognized as having estrogenic activity on animals. On fish they interfere with
endogenous estrogen and in many cases mimic its activity, thus increase estrogenic
reponse, with elevated levels of vitellogenin. Hence they are called Endocrine
Disrupting Chemicals, EDCs. Vitellogenin levels is often used as a biomarker of
exposure to estrogenic pollutants. Wastewater from sewage treatment works
contains chemicals known as EDCs, and there are evidence of roach (Rutilus
rutilus) living in recipients of such wastewater having traits of both gender, i.e.
oocytes in male gonads (intersex) on histological examination.
This study was done on roach living in Lake Funbosjön Uppland, Sweden.
"Det är så lätt, det är bara att gå in och trycka på ett par knappar." En rättssociologisk utvärderingsstudie av lagen om upphovsrätt (Lag 2005:359) och de viktigaste orsaksmekanismerna bakom fildelning
The purpose of this study was to find out why the law that regulates downloading copyrighted material does not work and which of the most important main reasons lies behind downloading behaviour. The phenomenon being well investigated earlier has actualized a new demand for normative investigation in connection with the hot debated IPRED-law.Using qualitative method comprising of interviews with three typical file sharers and anchored in Max Webers action typology, rational choice theory and the norm model followed by two assessment models, we found that four important reasons lies behind downloading behaviour: 1) economical reasons was the most central and frequent determinant followed by 2) accessibility and comfort, and 3) social acceptance and moral and also 4) habits. Although the content of the law was correctly provided by the interviewees, it was clear that they did not perceive the impact of the law as meaningful or threatening. The results, being compatible with previous research, are discussed in terms of the named theories and assessment models. We suggest further research to take into account peoples norms as the new IPRED-law soon will be functional as well as studies from a perspective of the legal rights of the individual..
Attityder till design : samt studie- och yrkesvägledare
The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say? What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.
Hjälp! Eleven sa svartskalle! : En kvalitativ intervjustudie om hur lärare bemöter främlingsfientlighet i klassrummet.
In a multicultural society such as Sweden opposition between different ethnical groups can be hard to avoid. In the educational arena there is legislation and there are guidelines that aim to avert any kind of xenophobia directed at individuals or groups. As teachers occupy the end point of the educational chain the execution of these guidelines is for the most part left up to them. This paper aims to study how teachers handle situations where xenophobia is present and if so how they work preemptively against it. It also takes a closer look into the notion of professionalism within the teacher force with the aim of trying to answer whether teachers reach the requirements of professionalism. To do so we apply Gunnar Berg?s definition of the term 'professionalism' together with other scholars' thoughts on the subject.
Gör om, gör rätt! Om judikalisering och migrationsdomstolens tillkomst
This thesis examines the reasons behind the Swedish migration policy reform which led to a replacement of the Aliens Appeal Board by the Migration Court. This introduced a two-party procedure, oral hearings and enhanced transparency. It was designed to guarantee the rule of law and to thwart political arbitrariness. The transfer of power from representative institutions to judiciaries is referred to as judicialization, and the Migration Courts may be considered a typical example of this phenomenon. However, this can be questioned. The straggling nature of the term implies everything and anything unless cautiously defined.
