Denna rapport berättar om vårt arbete med att ta fram ett inredningskoncept till den nya kårpuben i Eskilstuna. Vi har med hjälp av våra kunskaper inom informationsdesign och rumslig gestaltning arbetat fram ett förslag, anpassat efter uppdragsgivarens önskemål. Våra uppdragsgivare är Kårhusstiftelsen och Mälardalens studentkår. De ville att inredningskonceptet skulle vara målgruppsanpassat med funktion, flexibilitet och nytänkande i fokus. Då kårpubens personal till största del består av ideell arbetskraft ville de även att inredningskonceptet skulle underlätta det dagliga underhållet av verksamheten.

This project is a deepening in how the space in psychiatric care setting can promote and improve thepatient?s well-being. The aim with this study was to create a manual for architects and the care to takepart of. This would consist of different aspects of how the space can be created for a more secure,care taking and healing space. With help of the manual the study would continue by creating a healingpatient room in a psychiatric clinic.The main questions were; can we create an environment which improves the healing process for thementally ill? What are the factors that we need to consider to creating a room for psychiatric care?This study only looks at the patient room, the common room and how the environment can affect theiremotional and physical well-being.By taking part of already made studies in this subject or similar, making my own studies by visitingpsychiatric departments and exploring how the spaces there contribute or not contribute to the healingprocess of the patient.

We can see an increasing middle age population in large parts of the world. People are healthier when they retire than they were before. As people grow older, physical and mental changes occur that can make the use of cars more complicated. The possibility to travel by car is important for many people to keep the connection with the society and to feel independent. How can Volvo cars face the needs of this growing target group?The purpose of this project is to make a car concept that responds to those needs, it is therefore important to maintain the values of Volvo cars.

The landscape in the interior of Norrland has undergone dramatic changes since the deglaciation as a consequence of faultings, earthquakes and tilting of the landscape westwards. Archaeological investigations along former shorelines by the use of models of isostatic land uplift, have revealed many Mesolitic settlements in northern Sweden. Döudden, in the county of Arjeplog, has been investigated by archaeologists that identified settlements from 5200 BC. The objective of this study was to analyse the history of the vegetation and if the vegetation showed traces of human activity during early Holocene, by pollen analysis. The purpose of this thesis is to create conditions in order to plan lighting to a library room after children's needs and wishes, and to gain deeper knowledge about how children experience different lighting environments and what they perceive as good lighting. I was given the task by Huskvarna library to design a lighting plan for their children's department. This is part of the project "Library 2.1-room as a medium" that is going on at Huskvarna library since fall 2007. My questions at issue are: 1. What do children consider as good lighting in a library? 2.

This thesis is about a part of the marquetrytechnique, scorching. Scorching is made by heating up something, put a veneer into the heated substance and make a controlled burning. This technique is old but still used today and have according to me great potential for development. In my work I wanted to give the scorching greater room then I earlier have seen. I wanted the scorching to be the dominant ingredient for a decorative element in a piece of furniture or an interior.

The aim of this study is to find a method to incorporate the energydemand of a building in the investment cost estimate.The study is based on an actual apartment block. The significant energyaspects are identified, and changed to more energy efficient options.These are then simulated using the energy calculation program VIP+.The calculated energy need is used in the investment cost estimate, andthe simulated alternatives are compared in regards to their economicalprofitability.Depending on the focus, different alternatives are the most advantageous.Since this study aims to show which alternative is the mosteconomically profitable, the annual profit is the parameter of mostimportance. This means that individual measuring of heating and hotwater use is the recommended change of the original house. A changeof the windows to new ones with a U-value of 1,0 as well as 0,8W/m2K also results in a positive change of the annual profit comparedto the original house..

The competition for people´s attention becomes harder and harder. If the libraries want to continue to attract visitors it´s important that their business is promoted. The purpose of this thesis is to in-vestigate how two public libraries work with marketing. The study is based on a marketing model, introduced by Philip Kotler and further developed by Eileen Elliott de Sáez. Kotler believes that marketing is a social process and that everything can be promoted.

The Earth and everything else in the universe was created in the Big Bang around 14 billion years ago. A point with tremendous density and mass began to expand and more and more atoms began to form. From the first and lightest like hydrogen and helium to heavier atoms such as iron and eventually gold. The formation of the Earth occurred about 4.6 billion years ago and so the first gold atoms were concentrated only here. It is however believed that much later in Earth's history an extra supply of gold occurred thanks to massive meteorite bombardments.
