Denna uppsats försöker att med hjälp av en teleologisk lagtolkning få fram syftet och ändamålet med Europaparlamentets och rådets direktiv 2002/30/EG om regler och förfaranden för att av bullerskäl införa driftsrestriktioner vid flygplatser inom gemenskapen, nedan kallat driftsrestriktionsdirektivet. Utifrån denna rättsliga tolkning förs en övergripande diskussion om hur detta direktiv eventuellt skulle kunna genomföras i svensk politik för att bäst kunna skydda miljön och ge acceptabel rättssäkerhet för de lufttrafikföretag som drabbas av driftsregleringarna. Av den rättsliga tolkningen framkommer att det främsta syftet med direktivet är att vidta åtgärder för att minska flygbullret vid flygplatser med särskilt allvarliga bullerproblem, med ändamålet att skydda de kringboendes hälsa och miljön. I och med införandet av en ?god avvägning? vid införandet av driftsrestriktioner blir dock det egentliga ändamålet med direktivet att uppnå största möjliga miljövinster på det mest kostnadseffektiva sättet.

The impact of computer programs in safety-critical systems has increased in the past decades and computer-based systems can now be found in a wide range of applications. A new approach for developing dependable systems is documenting all design rationale that affects safety using Intent Specifications. A recent approach for developing complex systems efficiently and in an upgradeable manner is Component-Based System Engineering. In this thesis, these approaches are combined in the development and upgrade of a Remote Robot Control Unit by using the tool SpecTRM. The case study showed that Intent Specifications and CBSE could successfully be combined.

Strategies for Coping with Reading and Writing Difficulties in Daily Life  This study investigated how seven young adults, who during senior high school underwent a syllable based intervention due to reading and writing difficulties, developed their literacy skills, and what strategies they used to try to overcome reading and writing problems, whether at work, during studies or in their leisure time. The period from when the participants had left school ranged between three and eight years. Qualitative as well as quantitative data was compiled for the study. Qualitative data consisted of  semistructured interviews and quantitative data of tests performed before the intervention and on two occasions after, in order to compare results over time.

Multinationella företag har i och med den ökade globaliseringen fått större möjligheter att investera och etablera verksamhet i länder i tredje världen. Företagen i dagens samhälle har en stor betydelse, och de förväntas ta ansvar för sin verksamhet, även då det gäller miljömässiga och sociala förhållanden. Studien syftar till att undersöka hur möjligheterna ser ut för multinationella företag att anta initiativ för miljömässiga och sociala dimensioner av sin verksamhet, ett sk CSR-arbete. Intervjuer med tre stora svenska företag, IKEA, SKF och H&M, har genomförts och ett antal dokument från företagen har också analyserats. Bland det som tycks vara av vikt för att kunna ha en hög ambition med ett CSR-arbete kan vi bl a notera att valet av konkreta verktyg för ansvarstagandet bör anpassas efter företagets kundbild och produktionsförhållanden.

The outset of this study is to contribute to the literature concerning China?s increasing economic interest to engage in the African context, its economies and resource abundandce. The overarching research problem is that the approaches held by the respective African state entities may facilitate increasing development gains for the recipient state of this economic interest in principle. To adress this research problem the study is undertaken by conducting a comparative case study where three cases/states, with presumably diverging economic and political status, are likely to effect their overall state approaches differently.Research questions, which are addressed by the creation of an idealtype analytic matrix, concern whether the states of South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe take on a more ?permissive? or ?restrictive? approach towards China?s economic interst and whether the approaches can be looked upon on both aggratege and case/area-specific levels.The main findings are that a clear tendency of the ?permissive approach? may be noted on a aggregate level for all cases.

The aim of this paper is to analyse how the term attractiveness is interpreted in Swedish contemporary urban planning. The focus is to analyse how the term is discursively constructed and by this highlight the conceptions that exist around what makes a city attractive. We want to emphasize the importance of a deeper understanding of how attractiveness is used in urban planning and how the term is a part of the development of our cities. Given the use of attractiveness as a part of visionary goals for Malmö´s and other Swedish cities future development, our intention, therefore, is to enhance the understanding of what the use of attractiveness means in respect of the creation and construction of power relations in time and place. The framework of our analysis is based on the discourse theory approach and used as a way of understanding how urban ideals is discursively constructed.

The purpose of this essay was to analyze the management and steering of the social welfare service. The objective was specifically to examine how the leaders approach their position as managers of the social welfare service, and also how they approach their way of steering. The social welfare service acts under political decisions, but the management interpret and transform these decisions into actions. The managers of the social welfare service are therefore important from a democratic perspective. The study was based on five qualitative interviews with two managers of the unity, two departmental managers and the head manager of the social welfare service.

I denna studie undersöktes designöverväganden för ett VR-system som ska stödja en arkitektonisk designprocess. Dagens användning av VR-system inom arkitektur är inte särskilt utbredd men anses vara ett stort framtida användningsområde för VR-teknik. Större delen av den forsk-ning som bedrivs inom VR-området fokuserar på tekniken i sig. VR-system skapade i demonstrationssyfte används till att undersöka fenomen som avståndsbedömning och navigeringsförmåga i virtuella världar. Denna forskning är viktig, men är inte tillräcklig för att ge vägledning i hur man bör designa ett VR-system som ska stödja en arkitektonisk process.

Today there is still irrelevant pay differential in society. In Sweden in 2010, the average pay differential was 15,4 percent between the sexes. Only 0,8 percent better than EU:s average.In Sweden the individual salaries increasingly have begun to characterize the Swedish labor market. Based on this, the aim of this study is to highlight the issue of equal pay between men and women from the perspective of individual salary. This would also been doing with a background in the regulatory environment of equal pay.When it comes to equality between women and men it is the area of labor law in EU who is the most developed and in Sweden this is the area who is most affected by EU law.

Large corporations have come to play a central role in today?s society. By analyzing how corporations describe their work with Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, my aim is to review how they view and relate to this role. CSR means that a corporation voluntarily takes a civic responsibility beyond that which is required by law. This can be in order to promote human rights, basic workers rights and a better environment, as well as fighting corruption.In order to get at the role played by CSR, I have studied texts dealing with the subject, which have been published on the internet by the five largest Swedish corporations.

Det kan vara svårt att göra korrekta bedömningar i konflikter likt Afghanistan idag. Nato har definerat insatsen i Afghanistan som en Counter-insurgency (COIN)-operation. Osäkerhetsfaktorerna är många och där skiftningar i framgångarna varierar kraftigt över tiden. Det gör också att i många fall måste det finnas parallella processer för det säkerhetspolitiska arbetet. Komplexiteten med detta har gjort att det har utvecklats multifunktionella strategier.

This essay examines if formative assessment causes any impact on upper secondary school students results in social science. Other questions asked are which group of students benefits most from formative assessment and if any connections can be found between the students result and their cognitive approach to learning, problem solving capability and attitude to school.Two classes from a school in Stockholm were chosen to participate in the study. The theoretical framework is mostly based on former research performed by Black and William (1998, 2003). Multiple methods were used, including an experiment with a parallel-group design with two groups, a survey and a problem solving test. Statistics is used to describe and analyze collected data.Both groups were taught during five lessons in the same field of knowledge with the same kind of teaching, apart from formative assessment.

Many people today are very conscious about their health, at the same time alcohol is a recurring element in many day-to-day situations. IOGT-NTO is an organization that is working towards making sobriety to be the rule rather than the exception. This work is linked together by the organizations communication, which is a vital part to be able to present a unified view outward. In order to do that, it is particularly important that there are common goals and strategies to work towards.

AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to examine the professional female members of a board in listed companies. During the 21st century the issue of female quotation into the executive boards was discussed in both the media and politically due to womens underrepresentation in these contexts.The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the professional female members of boards stories of the role models they have, what characteristics have evolved, the views of others, and the self image. In addition, we want to investigate how women perceive themselves in a male-dominated field to identify how the female identity is created at work.Through a qualitative research in the form of personal interviews, we have gathered empirical material that forms the basis of our results. The answers from the interviews have been analyzed with the help of relevant theories and a social constructionist approach throughout the thesis. For our theoretical approach, we primarily chose symbolic interactionism, identity theories, and concepts such as the glass ceiling and gender strategies to analyze the data.The result of the survey shows that there are many elements that play into how women form their identities.

Due to the attention of several escapes, rescue attempts and hostage situations from Swedish prisons during the year of 2004 a debate about correctional system and safety arose. It resulted in official reports and proposals to improve the safety of the institutions. The incidents of 2004 will most likely have an effect on the discourse of the correctional system. The purpose with this study is to analyse which discourses that today can be distinguished in the correctional system and thereby will be the foundation of the correctional systemof tomorrow. The method used to answer the purpose of the study is a Foucauldian based discourse analysis.
