Barren rearing environment and early weaning of piglets can lead to a high level of distress, behavioural disturbances and reduction in weight gain. The main aim of this thesis was to study the effects of potential enrichment objects on piglet?s behaviour and weight gain during the pre- and post-weaning period. The second aim was to examine what type of object stimulated the highest frequency of interaction. The study was carried out at the Swedish Livestock Research Centre in Lövsta where a batch of litters from 10 first-parity Yorkshire sows were used.

AbstractIT can facilitate communication among individuals and connect people across geographical distances. On the contrary, citizens of the society who do not use communication technologies to some extent might feel excluded from the information society. As elderly citizens are already in a vulnerable position for the digital divide, communication technology becomes an important tool for interacting with friends and family. The social situation of elderly, 60 years of age and older, is a topic of current interest since they are the fastest growing age group in the world today. Further, social interaction becomes more important among elderly since it has a positive effect on well- being.

Syftet med denna studie är kunna uppmärksamma det sociala deltagandet och utbytet som sker mellan barnen utifrån en interaktion i leken. Jag vill göra pedagoger medvetna om när samspel sker, hur samspelt ser ut samt dess betydelse för barns tidiga utveckling av ett socialt beteende, det vill säga att kunna delta i andras upplevelser och erfarenheter samt själv kunna delge upplevelser och erfarenheter, att föra en ömsesidig kommunikation. Lev Vygotskij och Daniel Stern beskriver hur och när barnen bli medvetna individer som börjar kunna delge samt delta i egna och andras upplevelser och erfarenheter genom samspel. Vygotskij talar om vad barnen klara av själv och tillsammans med andra medan Stern beskriver barnens utveckling av det interpersonella som behövs för att kunna förstå sig själv och andra. Jag har valt att genomföra en kvalitativ undersökning med observationer av tre- och fyraåringars lek på en förskola för att uppmärksamma deras samspel. I resultatet kom jag fram till att barnen lär sig förstå sin omvärld genom att pröva och utforska tillsammans, de kommer tillsammans fram till det som går att veta. Kommunikationen är en viktig del i att vara en social individ och denna kommunikation uppstår redan i tidig ålder då barn uttrycker sig genom kroppsspråket det vill säga blickar, minspel med mera. The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine children's communication and interaction during story time at the public library. The aim is also to examine how to develop the story time ? in terms of participation and equality ? at a specific library.Action research was used as a research strategy and participant observation, log, tutoring and interviews as methods to collect data. Since action research is done on the basis of practice, a significant collaboration with the librarian and the participant children is taking place within this study.Research from the fields of Library and Information Science, Education and Childhood Sociology form the interdisciplinary research area to which this study links. The theoretical framework consists of theory and concepts from the Socio-cultural Perspective, Poststrucuralist Feminism and Childhood Sociology.

Syftet med det här projektet är att redovisa ett system- och framtidsperspektiv på designprocessen och industridesignerns roll, vilket också ska resultera i en tydligare definiering och kartläggning av designprocessen samt angränsande ämnesområden.Omfattande faktainsamling gjordes därmed i form av litteraturstudier, studiebesök samt informationsökning på internet. Detta skapade sedan en god grund för kommande intervjuer. Intervjuerna genomfördes med representanter från både lärosäten och SVID samt med verksamma designers, detta i syfte att få fram olika perspektiv och synsätt på de specificerade områdena.Baserat på informationen från faktainsamlingsfasen samt intervjuerna, gjordes en kartläggning av designprocessen med en tydligare koppling till makro- och mikromiljön samt Design Management. För att tydliggöra ytterligare sammanställdes också frågeställningar som härrör till arbetsgången.Gällande Industridesignerrollen valde jag att (baserat på intervjuresultatet) visualisera en bild av tänkbara framtida fokusområden och kompetenser.Jag kan konstatera att designprocessen utvecklats till att innefatta mycket mer än ?design av produkter?.

Purpose: The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether and how nine teachers of special education for older students, primarily at Upper secondary school, consider the smartphone an appropriate pedagogical means of assistance to improve participation and to support students with special education needs within and outside the school environment. Theory: The theoretical framework for the study is the sociocultural perspective on learning. The sociocultural perspective is related to the relational perspective and sociocultural learning theory involves learning and participation in school. It views the human being as socially active within a certain historical and cultural context which actively influences the way we act, how we learn and develop through interaction with others in the social, everyday practice. This is a study about children?s welfare and the Child Care Board way of working in Malmö city. We decided to make this a narrative and document analyses where the main focus have been the interactions between human beings, which means everything from the interaction between parents and child as well as the interaction between families and society.We wanted to investigate any possible alterations within the working system between 1931?1940. Our analysis showed that there hasn?t been a big change with the Swedish legislation.

Children at the age of six, has since 1991 been allowed to start their tuition in the Swedish school system. Studies reveal that; the first school year (preschool) can be a stressful task dueto the new environment, new friendships and higher expectations.The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how the teachers perceive their own role in the transitioning process from preschool to school. This purpose required a method of qualitative complexion and therefore qualitative interviews were used. The material is based on four interviews with four different teachers. The teachers were asked the same question considering; the transition from preschool to school from a pupil point of view, their own role in that transition and their opinions on different educational tools.

Our purpose with this research is to highlight that there is a scope for increased value creation in the experience room during concerts, and how value-enhancing strategies can be a competitive advantage for different venues. In our investigation of this we have worded the following research question: How is the perceived customer value affected during a concert in the experience room and its physical environment? This master thesis in library- and information science is about the intermediary function of the library room from an environment-psychological point of view. Young people are a group in society who often reduce their visits to the library when growing up. There are lots of reasons for this maybe more attractive activities occur outside the library doors, making the young choose not to use the library. But if the library interior is attractive in itself, and has a welcoming atmosphere, there might be a change and the young people may well choose to pay the library a visit. What is important to young people how do they want their library room to look? Our purpose is to see how the physical environment affects young people in libraries.

Språkliga och kulturella skillnader kan leda till komplikationer i den textila tillverkningen med tanke på att kommunikationen mellan beställare och producent ibland kan missförstås. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur man, med hjälp av avancerad fotografi, kan förenkla den sömnadstekniska kommunikationen mellan producent och leverantör. Framtagningen av resultatet har gjorts med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med två experter inom områdena fotografi samt produktion. Det har även utförts intervjuer med en inköpsassistent på ett stort internationellt svenskt modeföretag och en intervju med designer/inköpare vid ett mindre företag. Det har vid sidan av intervjuer utförts experimentella observationer där framtagning av en fungerande manual för 360° fotografering har skett.
