Enhetlig samklang och vidgade uttryck: Sammansmältningen av elgitarr och stråkorkester i en musikdramatisk ljudnovell

Den här uppsatsen tar upp möjligheterna att få elgitarr och stråkorkester att samklinga trots deras skilda klangfärger och speltekniker. Som grund att applicera min forskning på har jag skrivit manus och spelat in en ljudnovell. Till den har jag sedan komponerat bakgrundsmusik bestående av stråkorkester och elgitarr. För att möjliggöra inspelning och bearbetning av musiken har jag använt ett sequenserprogram som heter Cubase. I processbeskrivningen går jag igenom sex olika exempel från ljudnovellens musik och redogör för hur jag provat olika spelsätt och redskap.

Konstruktion och utvärdering av Current Conveyors

Normally the operational amplifier is used as a component in active filter design. The goal for future components in filter design is large bandwith and the use of low supply voltages. The use of current-mode instead of voltage-mode circuits gets a step closer to the required performance. A component that use current as the signal conveying part is the current conveyor. In this report a comparative study between two current conveyor structures of second generation (CCII) is performed.

?Behind The Mirror? Perception och tolkning av Blutengel hos deras fans

This paper strives to answer ?What happens to the experience of diehard fans when a groupchanges an original song?? and the musical example for this are the German group Blutengeland their songs Behind The Mirror and Reich mir die Hand, which they first performed assymphonic versions at 2012?s Gothic meets Klassik in Leipzig, Germany. Theoretically thispaper is built on the idea that musical meaning conjures not only from the music itself, butalso from the perceiver and the situation.Through five interviews this paper answers who the informants are, what music means forthem and specifically, what the music of Blutengel means for them. The result shows that theinformants were acceptant to the musical change, but for some disappointment would occur ifthe band continued with orchestral instrumentation. The limit for acceptance seems not to liein musical rearrangement but instead in changed artistic identity..

Interpretation och dissonansbehandling på kromatisk nyckelharpa

By describing and analyzing a self made composition for the Swedish folk music instrument ?nyckelharpa? with emphasis on playing techique, dissonance treatment and interpretation questions are reflected upon regarding how dissonances and andvanced harmonical progressions are treated on a limited instrument such as ?nyckelharpa?. By emphasizing the traditional norm connected to the interpretation and instrumentation of traditional Swedish folk music (a traditon in which the nyckelharpa is included) and comparing the te- chniques connected to it with the recent composed material in a western classical context the possibilities and limitations in composition and interpretation are further investigated. Thus the musical experience and the documentation of the process of composing a concert for nyckelharpa provides a knowledge base for reflective analysis upon questions regarding interpretation, composition and dissonance treatment. This thesis also provides a brief summary of traditional playing and bowing technique as well as a short historical description of the Swedish traditional instrument ?nyckelharpa?..

Optimering av ultraljudssändare- och mottagare avseende räckvidd, strålningsvinkel och energiförbrukning

Embedded Systems Lab at Umeå University is currently part of a research project with the purpose to examine the behavior of dairy cows inside a barn. Each cow needs to be tracked with a precision of 50 cm, and since GPS-technique has poor functionality at indoor environments, an indoor positioning system needs to be developed.Embedded Systems Lab has already developed an indoor positioning system using IR-light and radio, but since this system demands extensive infrastructure and is rather expensive, an alternate positioning system using ultrasonic pulses and radio is being examined.In this report the range, beam angle and current consumption of ultrasonic transmitters- and receivers are investigated. Three different driver stages for the transmitter is tested, and two amplifier solutions for the receiver. The report also describes how the length of the transmitted ultrasonic pulse affects the received signal, accessibility of a ?shadowed? signal, and the effect of different sound frequency..

Public Hear Aid

This project started when LIC Audio AB wanted help with development of a hearing aid for public rooms. The problem is that a lot of people suffer from some sort of hearing impairment. In places with a lot of people and background noise the problem becomes bigger and the sound seems to flow together. During the project we found the solution for the problem in the shape of a headphone. The headphone receives a signal from a preinstalled hearing loop.

Long time-series of pressure measurements often have high quality because the early instrumentsare more or less the same as the modern ones. A time-series from Lund consisting of three dailymeasurements from 1780-1997 has been homogenised and is therefore suitable for analysingpossible influences of the enhanced greenhouse effect. According to a two-layer model of theatmosphere one finds a shift in the frequency of baroclinic instability due to an increasedtemperature gradient caused by the increasing CO2. Baroclinic instability over the Atlantic Oceanis the main cause for frontal zone production, causing cyclonic activity over the southern part ofScandinavia. Changes to the baroclinic instability would therefore be traceable in the time seriesfrom Lund.

Utveckling av Breakoutbox för Fuel Flow Transmitter

Development and construction of an electronic Breakout box is the main work for this thesis. The box is a part of a test system for the component Fuel Flow Transmitter and should convert signals to be suitable for a frequency counter. A previously constructed Breakoutbox for this purpose is being old and needed to be recreated. So SAAB Aerotech, Aircraft services, the company for the thesis work wanted to construct a new, more sustainable Breakoutbox adapted to a more modern technology. The signals to the box comes from the transmitter and should be converted to suitable signals for a frequency counter so it can show pulse and time difference between the signals.

Sensorfinger

Målet med detta examensarbete är att ersätta den tidigare lösningen av sensorfingret med andra komponenter, eller hitta en annan sensor med motsvarande funktion.Arbetet har begränsats av att ESAB vill ha ett mekaniskt finger för användarvänlighetens skull. Efter en förundersökning av olika typer av sensorer har vi valt att använda oss av trådtöjningsgivare som sensorer till det mekaniska sensorfingret. I och med detta val behövde vi även komma med ett teoretiskt förslag på en mekanisk upphängning av sensorfingret.Vi har byggt upp två separata Wheatstonebryggor med varsin instrumentförstärkare (INA125). Utsignalen från bryggorna är relativt liten och behövde förstärkas cirka 2000 gånger.Nollbalansering av bryggorna har skett manuellt med potentiometrar men vi har även gett ett förslag på en lösning där nollbalansering kan ske med ett enkelt knapptryck. Knappen är placerad på upphängningen på ett sådant sätt att man inte kan trycka oavsiktligt på knappen.Resultatet av arbetet är en uppkoppling på en experimentplatta samt förslag på hur upphängningen och sensorfingret designmässigt kan se ut.För vidare arbetsgång behövs en prototyp för att testa livslängden och ta reda på vilken känslighet som är mest optimal..

Ultraljudsmätare för bubbelfälla

This bachelor thesis is about an ultrasonic sensor, implemented in a bubble chamber in Artis. The sensor consists of the piezoelectric sensor and an electronic control circuit. The control circuit consists of a programmable microprocessor, PIC18F2420 and a circuit, which sends the excitation signal to the piezoelectric sensor, and later receives the echo. This bachelor thesis consists also of a theoretical study, which examines different techniques of liquid level sensing in a chamber. The study discusses which factors are important in liquid level sensing and examine accepted methods.

"Din sökning gav tyvärr inga träffar" : en kvalitativ enkätstudie om användares svårigheter med att söka noter i Statens musikbiblioteks onlinekatalog

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to study how well the online catalogue of The Music Library of Sweden works when ordinary users are searching for sheet music. The issues studied are: Why do the users fail to find the sheet music they are looking for? Do the users take advantage of the possibilities that the classification codes of the SAB system offer? If not, why?The source material of the study is 144 comments from a user questionnaire about the online catalogue and, in addition, the search log for one day (513 queries). The comments were sorted into seven groups depending on the type of information need, for example searches for certain instrumentation or genres and problems with spelling.

MEMS baserad referensoscillator

The interest in tiny wireless applications raises the demand for an integrated reference oscillator with the same performance as the macroscopic quartz crystal reference oscillators. The main challenge of the thesis is to prove that it is possible to build a MEMS based oscillator that approaches the accuracy level of existing quartz crystal oscillators. The MEMS resonator samples which Philips provides are measured and an equivalent electrical model is designed for them. This model is used in the simulations of the Pierce oscillator and the transresistance amplifier oscillator that are evaluated in this thesis. Finally the Pierce oscillator is implemented in the A BCD2 process and manufactured at Philips Semiconductors in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Pedagogiska verktyg i arbetet för elevens motivation : En studie inom särskolan

This study was conducted at a special school for children with autism and developmental disabilities. The study consists of three interviews where pedagogues have different experiences of working with children in need of special support. The aim is to get an idea of how teachers think about working with children autism, but above all to find out what methods and educational tools that are used, and why they are used to best motivate students to a rewarding education. Sense of coherence (SOC) is a central concept and a theoretical basis of the study relating to the student to create comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness in life. All of these three are essential for the student to find a predictable environment.From the result shows how schools and teachers use different methods and different tools, but both have a focus to help the student find motivation in the learning process.

Kling eller klang?: om möjligheterna att kombinera orkesterinstrumentsamt sökandet efter den homogena ensemblen

Denna uppsats undersöker hur blås- och stråkinstrument kan kombineras i en kammarensemble för att tillsammans uppnå en homogen klang. Åtta böcker i orkestrering har studerats med huvudsaklig inriktning på anvisningar som är relevanta för kammarensemble med enkelbesatt stråkgrupp. Vidare har tre verk för kammarensemble studerats: Louis Spohrs Nonett, Arnold Schönbergs Kammarsymfoni nr 1 och orkestermellanspel ur Benjamin Brittens opera The Turn of the Screw. Utdrag ur de tre verken analyseras utifrån samklangs- och balansaspekter och jämförs med innehållet i orkestreringsböckerna. Ett lyssningstest har genomförts där en testgrupp har fått lyssna på skalor som spelas av olika instrumentkombinationer.

Rostfärgat slam i dränagesystem vid vattenkraftsanläggningar : orsaker och åtgärder

From embankment dams is something that has long been noticed and given rise to different questions. The most serious question is if the sludge is a result of inner erosion through the dam, and thus consists of material transported from the dam. Concerns have also been raised whether the sludge could interfere with the systems drainage capacity and thereby lead to high pore pressure in the dam, or if the measurement of seepage is disturbed, as the measuring is usually made via Thomson weirs, which could risk being blocked. The result of this investigation shows that the sludge is a result of the oxidation of iron by iron bacteria, and to the greater part consists of these oxides as well as the bacteria?s own structures. The iron oxidizing bacteria, FeOB, oxides ferrous iron to ferric as a part of their metabolism, and thereby create large quantities of iron(oxy)hydroxides.
