Storage of biomass is often associated with problems such as heat development, dry matter losses and reduction of fuel quality. The rise in temperature can potentially cause a risk of self-ignition in the fuel storage. Moreover, emissions from storage piles can cause health problems in the surrounding. The dry matter losses and reduction of fuel quality can have economical effects. The aim of this thesis project is to develop guidelines on how to store large amount of biomass at Vattenfalls heat and power plants in an optimal way.

Soils in a metal contaminated site on Stångberget in Gusum in southeastSweden were investigated and compared to relatively unaffected soils a fewkilometres away. Pollution came from historical release of untreated flue gasesfrom a brass mill. The objective was to find information on how high the metalconcentrations are, if metals from the polluted soil affect the surroundings andif the metal contamination affects the microbial community. The soil wasinvestigated using several different methods, such as field XRF measurements,chemical analysis of metal, carbon and nitrogen content, pH, acid neutralizingcapacity, texture, soil depth, field leach tests, sequential extraction and microbialfunctional profiles. The study showed that copper and zinc concentrationswere above Swedish Environmental Protection Agency guidelines for lesssensitive land use on the entire investigated area.

Efter införandet av de internationella redovisningsstandarderna år 2005 vars syfte är att tillfredställa behovet av jämförbarhet och harmonisering bland företag, har många förändringar skett. Förändringarna innebär att den nya redovisningspraxisen har blivit obligatorisk för de svenska företagen att följa. I och med att företag bedriver utlandshandel bidrar detta till valutarisk, något som företag måste handskas med. Ett behov av att hantera dessa risker står i fokus bland företagens verksamheter och är även något som uppmärksammas bland företag, de finansiella rapporternas användare samt investerare. För att kunna minimera/eliminera valutakursrisker är finansiella instrument de främsta redskapen.

Denna uppsats undersöker om det finns något samband mellan vilken typ av företagskultur ett systemutvecklingsföretag har och till vilken omfattning de jobbar med användarmedverkan. I uppsatsen presenteras begreppen användarmedverkan och företagskultur. Intervju- och enkätundersökningar har genomförts för att belysa företagens företagskulturer samt hur de arbetar med användarmedverkan. Intervjuerna och enkäterna ligger som grund för studien och dessa visar att det finns ett samband mellan omfattningen av användarmedverkan och ett företags företagskultur, men dock enbart sett utifrån företagens vilja och ambitioner att jobba på detta sätt. Något samband mellan hur företagen verkligen jobbar med användarmedverkan sett till deras företagskultur har inte kunnat bekräftas..

Uppsatsen behandlar det finansiella instrumentet Contract for Differences (CFD) i förhållande till främst flaggnings- och budpliktsreglerna och sekundärt i förhållande till reglerna om otillbörlig marknadspåverkan. Flaggningsreglerna föreskriver en plikt att informera marknaden då man ökar eller minskar sitt aktieinnehav i ett noterat bolag över vissa gränsvärden, antingen vad gäller rösträtter eller andel av samtliga aktier i bolaget. Härigenom främjas transparensen på marknaden. Budplikt innebär en skyldighet att rikta förvärvserbjudande till samtliga aktieägare i ett noterat bolag när man uppnår 30 procent eller mer av det totala röstetalet i ett noterat bolag. Budplikten är betydligt mer ingripande än flaggningsplikten.

This report aims at giving you as a reader a basic knowledge in measurement techniques used in the road/land construction and witch instrument and methods that is commonly used. It also tries to shed light on the problem with unfinished or incomplete blueprints, which cause additional work performed by the surveyor. This report is written in collaboration with PEAB Umeå whom has given insight in their work.The goal of this report is to examine what kind of work surveyors has to perform on blueprints delivered by a technical consultant. The reader of this report gets a run-through of the different theoretical measurement techniques used today and a short explanation of different measuring instruments used by surveyors in their day to day work. Computer programs used in the field of construction are briefly explained, and some of the most common file extensions used, for example dwg and Land-xml.The report concludes in a questionnaire that was sent out to surveyors employed by PEAB.

I am a practising classical soprano. After more than 20 years of professional singing, I re-trained my voice according to principles of the old Italian school of singing. In this essay, I examine the origins and priciples of bel canto, with special focus on appoggio and chiaroscuro, two key ingredients in the bel cantao tradition. In this essay I analyze the performative aspects relating to Marina Abramovi?'s The Artist Is Present, which took place in spring 2010 at MoMA in New York, from the context of the artist and work, institution and documentation. In this performance work, for the duration of the exhibition, Abramovi? sits completely still opposite another chair where anyone from the audience may sit. The art arises through this participation.

The purpose of this study is to create an understanding for marketing directors? viewabout how event marketing effect the company?s brand equity in four separatebusinesses. Our question formulation the study aims to answer is:How does event marketing effect the brand equity in international companies?We have chosen to perform a qualitative study with a semi structured research interviewto find out how event marketing as a marketing method, can be applied from theperspective of a marketing director in relation to our theoretical reference frame.To create structure and increase the understanding of our thesis, we will describe thebasics in brand and sponsorship theory, which will fall in to the marketing method ofevent marketing. Further we will describe the brand equity model that we will latermodify for our purpose.

The purpose of this thesis is to show what advantages and opportunities social media offer for B2B-companies (business-to-business), and how they can be used for marketing communications.We have studied how companies can use social media, for example evolving the organization, developing products/services, staying up-to-date, building relations, creating customer loyalty and engagement, building the company?s identity and image, and affecting the buying decisions. We have also studied how B2B-companies can choose media channels, set goals, and measure the results.We have carried out interviews, through phone and visits, with four chosen companies that fit our criterias: Swedish B2B-company that is successful in social media.The result of the interviews show that B2B-companies use social media for various purposes, for example networking (to create and build long term relations with other companies) and to improve the company?s image among the end customers. Most of our interviewees reach their end customers (consumers) in first place and customers (companies) in second place, since many B2B-companies do not yet use social media.Half of our respondents mention that social media should not be used for advertising and campaigns (one way communication).

A large number of system development projects are allowed to proceed for too long, and leads to undesirable project outcomes. Research shows that more than half of the authorities involved reported that at least one of their projects have exceeded their budget, and that a third of all the projects had exceeded the budget. This problem led to the following research question: ?Which factors can explain projects continued escalation within public authorities?? To answer the question, a qualitative case study of the Swedish police?s implementation of PUST, a sort of case management system was conducted. The project received considerable media attention and a large amount of criticism was directed towards the project, partly because the project exceeded the timeframe and budget set at the start.

I takt med ökad globalisering och ökat ekonomiskt utbyte mellan länder världen över blir det allt viktigare att kunna jämföra information i företagens finansiella rapporter. I Europa har ett led mot ökad jämförbarhet varit krav på börsnoterade företag att följa IFRS, vars målsättning är att skapa en redovisning som är jämförbar och harmoniserad på global nivå. 2007 infördes IFRS 7 Finansiella instrument: Upplysningar, som utvecklades då krav på riskupplysningar inte var tillräckliga i tidigare regelverk. Vid införandet fick regelverket större effekt på banksektorn än andra branscher, då bankernas totala tillgångar och skulder i genomsnitt 90 % utgörs av finansiella instrument. Banker har en central roll i samhället och en koppling till alla individer på ett eller annat sätt.Vår studie syftar till att undersöka hur banker på den svenska bankmarknaden lämnar riskupplysningar enligt kraven från IFRS 7, samt hur svenska banker riskupplyser i jämförelse med de utländska bankerna.

This report is commissioned by the Water and Sewage Agency in The City of Mariehamn, Åland. The basic aim is to investigate positive or negative effects of a relocation of the sewage pipe from a wastewater treatment plant, Lotsbroverket. The environmental licence of Lotsbroverket is to be revised and The Environmental Appeal Board at Åland?s Government and Administrative Board has made demands that several possible locations in an outer water area should be examined. The present location of the sewage pipe is in Svibyviken, which has been classified as an ?inner water area?.The objective of this work is to study to which extent the nutrient loading from Lotsbroverket influence the environmental conditions in Svibyviken, and to investigate the suitability of different locations of the wastewater pipe from Lotsbroverket.The way a coastal area looks, i.e., its morphometry, determines to a large extent its ecological characteristics.
