The following essay describes a study made in Sweden in the autumn of 2010 at Södertörn University. The main purpose with this study is to find out and describe how people´s own understanding of being multilingual has influenced them. The objective behind this is to create a wider understanding for the phenomena. Therefore, the phenomenological perspective is used to describe the subjective reflection of a phenomena, in this case multilingualism. A qualitative method is being used for data gathering, implying conversational interviews with six multilingual people born in the 1970s and 1980s.The results show that the people interviewed mostly use their mother tongue in conversations with their parents and relatives today.

The purpose of this thesis was to develop and optimize a method of analysis for combustion of organic chemical products, followed by an ion chromatographic quantitative analysis. This was to be achieved with the decomposition equipment IKA AOD 1. The aim was to receive a precise and repeatable method that would be able to be applied to the process of qualification and technical marking of chemical products at the company, OKG AB in Oskarshamn. A complete Instruction for the decomposition equipment and the method of analysis was written. A number of parameters were chosen from the general method of the combustion equipment, which then was tested parallel with a simultaneous development of an appropriate ion chromatographic method.

Grammar is one of the most problematic areas when it comes to teaching a language; to know if or when, and how grammar should be taught, are relevant questions to all language teachers. The aim of the study was to investigate teachers? attitudes towards teaching grammar, and how much, how and why they use the methods that they do. Therefore semi-structured interviews were undertaken with six 9th grade English teachers. The main results showed that all six teachers were positive to formal Instruction, and they considered implicit knowledge of grammar superior to explicit knowledge.

In autumn of 2021, the anthology A Bridge of Poetry was given to all six-year-olds in Sweden. The anthology contains both older and contemporary poetry, as well as both children?s poetry and poetry written for experienced readers. The idea is that, with the help of an adult, texts and images, and in some cases short movies, will together stimulate children?s thoughts and initiate conversations, as well as arousing children?s curiosity about poetry.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate how the students at Chalmers University of Technology at Lindholmen in Gothenburg use libraries in their schoolwork. The empirical material consists of the answers of questionnaires that were handed out to two classes of students, on the second year of their education. To illustrate the topic there are a theoretical frame and examples of earlier studies. The theoretical frame is Limbergs texts that deal with for example information seeking and how important it is in all education. The earlier studies are about student's different ways of using libraries.

The purpose ot this study is to investigate how two teachers of fifth grade say they are working with reading comprehension in their teaching. Furthermore the aim is to investigate how the teachers' Instruction in reading cmprehension expresses itself. The study was conducted from a teachers perspective and the questions that the stydy will answer are: How do two teachers in fifth grade believe they should teach in order to develop reading comprehension among their own students, and what methods, activities and materials are the teachers using in order to develop students' reading omprehension in the educational practise. The methods used during the study were interviews and observations. The observations were made in order to complete the picture from the interviews.

The aim of the study was to a) examine what leader behaviors individual and team athletes prefer and b) examine what leader behaviors men and women prefer. A questionnaire (The Leadership Scale for Sports) was distributed to 168 individuals, from which 130 were included in the study. The data was analyzed in SPSS, in which a three-way and a two-way variance analysis were performed. The results showed that individual athletes preferred the behavior dimensions ?Training and Instruction?, ?Positive feedback? and ?Democratic behavior? to a higher degree than did team athletes.

Syfte och frågeställningar:Uppmärksamheten var stor då resultatet efter senaste PISA -undersökningen redovisades. Resultatet visar en fortsatt försämring av svenska 15-åringars läsförståelse. Mot bakgrund av detta undersöks i denna studie hur lärare arbetar med läsförståelsestrategier i klassrummet. Syftet med studien är att undersöka och utveckla kunskap om vilka metoder lärare anser vara framgångsrika för att underlätta läsförståelse för elever i behov av särskilt stöd.Studiens frågeställningar är:Vad uppfattar lärarna att läsförståelse innebär?Vilka läsförståelsemetoder beskriver lärarna att de använder i sin undervisning och vilka läs-förståelsemetoder observerar denna studies undersökare i undervisningsverksamheten? Vilka aktuella läsförståelsemetoder och begrepp finns för att underlätta läsförståelse och vilka uppfattar lärarna att de använder? På vilket sätt kan arbetet med läsförståelsestrategier gynna elever i behov av särskilt stöd?Teori, ansats och metod: Studien är kvalitativ och utgår från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv genom undersökning av so-ciala praktiker i klassrumssituationen.

The purpose of this study was to examine how the genrebased Instruction applied in multicultural classrooms. My observations were carried out in three different classrooms, whit the educators constantly working on language development off the students. Two observations were carried out in Swedish, with a teacher of Swedish as a second language and the Swedish-teacher working with students together. In these two lessons in Swedish, I took away from Pauline Gibbons model, while the third lesson in civics I assumed from Eija Kuyumcu genre model. Both models are based on the Australian research around the genrebased teaching.

I denna uppsats jämförs och diskuteras gynnsamma faktorer för elevers läs- och skrivutveckling. Jag lyfter fram tre olika forskares syn på vad som kan ha en positiv inverkan för elevers utveckling på området och sätter det i relation till gynnsamma faktorer för lärande i stort. Frågeställningarna berör likheter i forskarnas metoder, lärarrollen samt lärande utifrån individ- och grupperspektiv. Som jag skrev ovan så fokuseras arbetets kring tre huvudtexter. Dessa texter är Judith Langers Effective Literacy Instruction (2002), Palincsar och Browns Reciprocal Teaching (1984) och Graham, Harris och Santangelos Self-Regulated Strategy Development (2008). Dessa tre texter ger tillsammans en bild av faktorer som kan vara av betydelse för både läs- och skrivutveckling. I resultaten av studien kommer bland annat vikten av att eleverna lär sig strategier fram.

SAAB Security and defense solutions i Järfälla har ett system som används av militären för övervakning av flygplan. Systemet visar på en datorskärm en karta över Europa där flygplanen visas med markeringar från data som samlats in av radars. Då data samlas in med en låg frekvens visas ytterligare en markering som kallas målspår. Dessa målspår beräknas fram med tunga matematiska beräkningar och sköts av datorns processor.Det finns ett önskemål om att flytta dessa beräkningar till datorns Grafikkort med hjälp av OpenCL och därmed frigöra processorns resurser. OpenCL har implementerats med två olika Java bindings och prestandaskillnader mellan dessa samt de ursprungliga beräkningarna har undersökts.
