Många konsumenter är snabbare än organisationer på att börja använda ny teknik och utrustning. När de sedan tar med denna utrustning och teknik till arbetet för att på ett mer tillfredsställande sätt utföra sina arbetsuppgifter uppstår fenomenet BYOD som har blivit allt vanligare och vanligare. Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på vad fenomenet BYOD är och hur det påverkar organisationer som anammar det. Dess fördelar och risker har undersökts samt fenomenets utbredning bland svenska organisationer. Tidigare undersökningar har legat till grund för att identifiera ofta förekommande fördelar och risker.

In modern society in terms of economics and environmental impact, it is important to ensure that a company is as energy efficient as possible to reduce the amount of energy used. About 10 TWh of electricity used annually to pump drives in Swedish industry. Therefore, pumping system has great potential for energy savings.The objective of this report was to determine how much energy and money that can be saved with the insertion of variable speed drive to six pumps on Bleach plant 4 in Skutskär Mill. The work was performed with electrical measurements during one week, analysis of pump curves and the compilation of production data over a year.The results show that four of these six pumps were profitable and yielded an annual saving of 1172 MWh of electricity and 560 000 SEK. With an economic lifetime of 10 years and a discount rate of 6.8% the final result for the entire life-cycle savings became 3 355 000 SEK.

This Masters thesis concerns epistemology in Knowledge Organization KO, as a field of study in Library and Information Science LIS. Using a theoretical model by Birger Hjørland and foucauldian discourse analysis as springboards, this study analyses three epistemological discourses in the practice of KO. The aim of the study is to show how these discourses are constituted and demarcated in relation to KO, as well as to examine how they fit into Hjørlands model. A brief historical outline of some epistemological trends in LIS is sketched, as well as examples of how different epistemological schools influence different parts of KO, e.g. information retrieval, indexing- and classification theory.

 Syfte: Att undersöka huruvida patienterna upplever det postoperativa förloppet avseende smärta i hals, heshet, smärta vid sväljning samt generellt obehag beroende på om endotrakealtub (ETT) eller i-gel supraglottic airway device (SAD) använts i samband med generell anestesi vid elektiv kirurgi.Metod: I denna kvantitativa tvärsnittsstudie samlades informationen in på formulär. Parametrarna skattades av patienterna med hjälp av visuell analog skala (VAS). 60 patienter tillfrågades konsekutivt till studien och 13 föll bort vilket resulterade i 47 patienter som fullföljde studien.Resultat: Gällande graden av smärta i hals, heshet, sväljsvårigheter och allmänt obehag postoperativt så skattade sammanlagt sju deltagare i grupperna med ETT och i-gel ett VAS värde över 3. Patienter som haft ETT upplevde signifikant mer heshet, och sväljsvårigheter än patienter som haft i-gel.Slutsats: Denna studie visar att patienter som får ETT eller i-gel skattar sina besvär avseende smärta i hals, heshet, sväljsvårigheter och allmänt obehag i en låg frekvens. Dessutom påvisas att majoriteten av de som skattar besvär gör detta i de lägre segmenten av VAS skalan..

This study investigated whether in-situ audiometry, delivered via hearing aids, is a better option as a basis forprescribing hearing aid amplification, compared to conventional audiometry. By examining the real ear insertgain (REIG) in 29 ears (18 subjects), that had been fitted with a hearing aid programmed using both conventionalaudiometry and in-situ audiometry, the study looked at whether in-situ audiometry based prescription is closer tothe NAL NL1's fitting target than audiogram based prescription. The hearing aid Siemens Pure 7mi with speakerunit M was used on all participants. The results showed how in-situ audiometry based gain at certain frequenciesis more consistent with the target curve, especially at 1000, 1500, 2000 and 4000 Hz. It was not establishedwhether the findings of the study were statistically significant.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka viktutvecklingen hos barn födda i gestationsvecka 33, avseende tillväxt i förhållande till förväntad intrauterin tillväxt, fram till beräknad fullgången tid. Studien genomfördes med en retrospektiv design, där 12 journaler granskades. Kvantitativa variabler har identifierats och analyserats.

Restraining animals causes stress that not only decreases the animal?s wellbeing, but may also influence the research results. The first aim of this study was to train mice to voluntarily stand still using positive reinforcement training. Another benefit of teaching a mouse to stand still is that you can avoid anaesthesia for some procedures.

Most of the portable electronic devices use a battery as a primary power source. Nowadays, when the applications are becoming smaller and smaller and more power efficient, the designer needs to concentrate more on reducing power consumption, using secondary power sources and introducing power storage devices. Multiple power source availability and a power storage device on the board will make the applications much more useful and efficient in everyday use. This thesis proposes a power supply unit (PSU) for wireless sensor platforms which is capable of supplying a sensor node with energy from multiple sources, as well as status information from the PSU. Present power storage devices, like electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and batteries, have become more and more common as their characteristics have developed.

Det kan exempelvis påverka kvinnans välmående under graviditeten i form av högt blodtryck, graviditetsdiabetes, risk för intrauterin fosterdöd och en långsam framskridande förlossning. Krav ställs på barnmorskan i mötet med den gravida kvinnan med BMI ? 30 kg/m2 då kvinnan önskar att få information om risker kring graviditeten utan att barnmorskan är dömande.

This thesis is the result of the investigation and solution of a mechanicalproblem regarding flywheel malfunctions. A flywheel is, in short, a devicethat relies on a rotating object?s moment of inertia to store energy overshort time spans. This project is part of the development of a fourthflywheel prototype at the division for electricity at Uppsala university,which uses magnetic levitation to keep a hollow cylinder rotating at veryhigh speeds inside a vacuum chamber. Should the magnets fail however, orsome other error occur that leads to an uncontrolled state of rotation, thecylinder needs to be stabilized mechanically by a device usually referredto as ?back-up bearing?.

The exclusion of visually impaired from the information flow presented to us through signs was what led me into this project. With a growing amount of information being presented to us on signs and digital information surface the need of communicating this information in a way that could be read by visually impaired is evident. Looking into different ways of communication, my goal was to create something that filled the need of the visually impaired without branding them as disabled. Having a close relative with bad eyesight is became evident on how much it limited her in her everyday life, not being able to navigate herself without the support of her husband. Through interviews with her and others with varying diagnoses I reached an insight in their situation. To my surprise they still favored a visual form of communication before an auditory or tactile form, because it?s easy to survey and quick to interpret.

As requested by the company Husqvarna AB, we have developed a prototype of an electrical start device to a chainsaw. This was done through the development of new details in Catia, which has been integrated with existing details. Electrical components have been purchased by HAB electronics. In parallel with the modeling calculations was done, which was the basis for determine dimensions and the choice of an electric motor and gears. Prototype 1 improved gradually and led to prototype number 2, which became the final result.
