Användandet av intranättekniken ökar och blir allt mer framträdande i dagens organisationer. Det öppnar upp nya möjligheter för organisationerna att förbättra sin verksamhet och då framförallt den interna informations spridningen. För att få ett intranät som fungerar fullt ut och som används av samtliga inom organisationen, kräver det användarmedverkan i utveckling och utformning av intranätet. I dag skall den enskilde användaren hämta information elektroniskt och användaren får då mer en roll som informationstagare än informations mottagare. Detta ställer i sin tur krav på organisationsledningen som bör se till att användarna får den utbildning de behöver för att kunna hämta information.

Arbetet bygger på att de informationssystem som används idag men som blir allt äldre och därigenom inte klarar de krav som ställs på dem. Detta medför att informationssystemen måste migreras till modernare plattformar, då företagen dels inte klarar sig utan dess nuvarande funktionalitet och dels måste vidareutveckla systemen.Detta arbete tar upp olika sätt som detta kan genomföras på och vilka problem som kan komma att uppstå när detta sker. För att kunna undersöka detta så genomfördes ett antal migrationer. Språken som migrationen kommer att ske mellan är Visual Basic 6 och Visual Basic .net. Migrationerna kommer att ske med hjälp av ett migrationsverktyg, samt ett ramverk som i arbetet skräddarsys för just arbetets typ av migrationer.Det arbetet kommer fram till är att det sker problem vid användande av ett verktyg och även att det inte ger tillräckligt med respons på vad som gått snett under migrationerna..

This thesis is based on a case study for the real estate manager Mimer in Västerås. Mimer provides a great deal of this city?s rental apartments. Many of their buildings have ventilation systems with a type of heat-recovery called ?heatpipe?.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to compare classification codes and feature headings of three different universal classification schemes SAB, UDC and DDC, when classifying archaeological literature. The aim is to determine whether a subject analysis of a title generates similar feature headings in the three systems, and to find positive and negative things about each system from an archaeological point of view. The comparison and the analysis of the 22 chosen archaeological monographs showed that the subject analysis of the titles didnt always generate similar feature headings. This could depend on several things, for example different interpretations of the subject analysis of a document, less knowledge about the system and/or the subject, or the fact that its not the same classifier that creates the codes. The study also showed that the different classification systems did treat the subject archaeology a bit differently, and that its difficult to say that one of them is better for classifying archaeological literature.

Elektronisk handel (e-handel) mellan företag ofta kallad B2B är ingen ny företeelse. Olika företag har genom åren investerat mycket i att automatisera sina interna processer, som har lett till stora effektivitetsbesparingar. Med hjälp av teknikens framfart fick man också möjligheter att utbyta information automatiskt mellan olika företag. Systemintegration kan ses ur ett tekniskt perspektiv och ur ett affärsprocessperspektiv . Det tekniska perspektivet inriktar sig på databaser och tekniker medan affärsprocessperspektivet fokuserar på de processer som utförs i en verksamhet.

Många utav de krav som idag utformas uppfyller inte kriterierna för att vara högkvalitativa. Denna undersökning behandlar hur användbarhetskrav formuleras i kravspecifikationer. Vi har i vår undersökning utgått ifrån en internationell standard (ISO/IEC/IEEE-29148), som innehåller kriterier för hur både individuella och uppsättningar av krav ska formuleras, som teoretisk modell. Dessa kriterier har vi forskningsförankrat genom att studera vad andra forskare sagt om dessa och därefter har vi använt modellen för att genomföra en dokumentanalys av fem olika kravspecifikationer för fem olika informationssystem. Våra slutsatser påvisar att det kan finnas en brist på kunskap kring hur krav bör formuleras i en kravspecifikation och vi belyser även de samband som finns mellan olika grader av uppfyllelse för kriterier hämtade från ISO/IEC/IEEE-standarden och praktiken.

Libraries all over the world struggle against the threat of decreased funding and a lack of governmental interest. In countries with an under-developed library sector the interest from the government is often minimal or non-existent. Since the 80´s Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has contributed to the library development in Central America through the Royal Library of Sweden. Nicaragua was the first country to be counterpart in the project. For a period of eight weeks I have completed a field study in Nicaragua and visited the National Library Rubén Darío and public libraries in the country.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the literary site Vulkan.se affects the conditions for publishing, distribution, incorporation in value systems and feedback in the literary process, as it appears in Lars Furuland?s model of this process. The purpose is also to propose an updated version of the model. This is achieved through a qualitative testing of Furuland?s theory.

Failed system development projects are a common sight within the IT-industry. During the last ten years we have seen several more or less disastrous high profile projects being reported in the news. One aspect that might hold some of the responsibility for these failures is the fact that more organisations are knowledge intensive which makes their work processes difficult to capture in computer systems. How requirements engineering is handled becomes even more important in these cases, where processes are unpredictable and rely on individual judgement and knowledge. In this study we have examined the challenges of developing systems for knowledge intensive businesses through a method of qualitative case study of a university laboratory.

The aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse the antagonism between conservation and development which occurs in historical towns.The base of the study is theories in destination development and cultural heritage tourism in historical towns as well as the consequences expressed in these theories concerning conservation and development. The standpoint was that an empiric study needed to complement the theory. This filed study took place in Dubrovnik in Croatia. The thesis identifies the antagonism between conservation and development based on the theoretical research. Moreover the study adds a perspective to the research through the identification of further dimensions of this antagonism.

Fältsäljare har alltid kännetecknats av att ha ett mobilt arbetssätt där kundkontakt tillhör vardagen och god planering är vitalt. HILTI är ett verktygstillverkande företag som nyligen infört ett mobilt IS-stöd i förhoppning om att underlätta med bland annat planering för fältsäljarna. En explorativ undersökning av företaget har genomförts för att få en uppfattning, utifrån fältsäljarens perspektiv, hurvida denna upplever att yrkesrollen förändrats vid införandet av ett mobilt informationssystem. Insamling av data har utförts med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer för att få en tydlig bild av de förändringar som försäljaren upplever anmärkningsbara. Resultatet visar att systemet bidragit till direkta förändringar i försäljarens yrkesroll.

The purpose of this report is to outline the development of a dynamic Microsoft Silverlight application, which will be able to present products and be administered in a simple manner. The project has been carried out at Incordia AB, a company that specializes in e-commerce, situated in Helsingborg, Sweden. Although the Silverlight application is customized for a particular site, forMicro AB (an ongoing project at Incordia), the template and the classes that are used to manage information, are developed so that they can be used in future projects for Incordia AB..

The aim of this essay was to investigate how social workers, within chosen Social services districts in the northwest of Skåne, work with children placed in foster care. Our purpose was to investigate the interaction between the child and the foster home from the perspective of the Ecology of Human Development. Our questions were:* How do the social worker prepare the child and the foster home before a placement?* What kind of support is offered to the foster home with the purpose of supporting the child?* How do the social worker make the childs contact with the biological parents easier?* To what degree does the social worker work on strengthening the child's network?* Which factors do the social worker decide the allocation of support?* What do the social worker think affects the work with the foster home from a society level?To answer our question we have interviewed nine social workers. We found that the social workers were generally good at perceiving how the micro- and meso-systems, and to a certain extent the exo-system, influenced the foster child.

The study aims to investigate the feasibility of small-scale electricity production with solar electricity systems, also known as PV (photovoltaic) systems, in Australia. Due to the global warming, sustainable energy has in recent years become an increasingly important issue, both internationally and in Australia. With one of the largest dependencies on fossil energy sources in the world, the country's abundant solar radiation is a possible solution to this issue.Both the technical and the economic feasibility of small-scale PV systems were investigated. On the technological side, the electricity generation, distribution and consumption systems were studied. On the economical side, the parameters that drive the profitability of a PV investment were investigated.
