The purpose of this Masters thesis has been to examine the importance of libraries for girls leisure time in secondary school. Focus has been on the use of the library as a leisure activity. Interviews were carried out with six girls of the ages 13 to 16. The conclusion of the study is that the library is of importance for the girls mostly through its books. Reading turned out to be an important leisure activity for the girls and the books provided by the library were of significance for their identity development.

Possessory liens and legal liens are two securities that has been the subject of debate from legal scholars for quite some time. Possessory liens are often viewed as a weaker security compared to legal liens. However, upon closer examination it turns out that possessory liens in most cases provide the the same opportunity to sell the property withheld as security. This possibility makes possessory liens resemble, if not be identical to, legal liens. Both securities arise by operation of law and grant the right to both withhold and sell property in the event of non-payment.

Sweden is in the initial phase of forming a national forest programme (nfp). The establishment of an nfp has been evoked by international policy developments and a national debate questioning Swedish forestry and forest policy. National forest programmes are participatory processes for the development and implementation of forest-related policies and international commitments. Hence, the aim of this master thesis is to assess the stakeholders? acceptance of participation and integration of international issues within the Swedish national forest programme.

Dagens BI-system ger företagen möjlighet att utifrån företagens olika datakällor ta ut rapporter som kan användas i arbetet med styrning och beslutsfattande. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva och analysera hur BI-system kan användas i styrningen på flera nivåer i två stora svenska företag för att stödja beslutsfattande. För att få en djupare förståelse för ämnet valde vi att göra en kvalitativ undersökning med en deduktiv ansats.

This case study examines how individuals involved in the Swedish peace movement have navigated their peace activism due to the intensified security debate which followed Russia?s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. By conducting semi-structured interviews with peace activists involved in the Swedish peace organization Svenska freds- och Skiljedomsf?reningen, the study aims to provide insight into how peace activists, and the peace movement as a whole, can be affected when the security debate intensifies. By applying a theoretical framework consisting of Political Process Theory (PPT) and Discursive Opportunity Structure (DOS), as well as previous studies and literature on social movement organizations and peace movements, the study?s objective is also to apply context to the observations made by the peace activists in the study.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur styrelserna i börsbolag som ännu ej omfattas ser på effekterna av detta. Mer specifikt innebär detta hur man har uppfattat Koden och motiven bakom, vilka förväntningar det har på arbetssätt samt om man ser ett värde med den. För att göra detta genomfördes en enkätundersökning som gick ut till styrelseordföranden på Stockholmsbörsens Small Cap-lista.

I have examined acclimatization models in pre-school. My emphasis is on the shorter acclimatization models. To begin pre-school is a big change, not only for small children, for the whole family as well. It is important to get a good acclimatization in pre-school, and one of the things it takes to achieve that is to interact with the parents. The reason why I chose this subject was because we have not studied much literature about this subject during our education to become pre-school teachers.

The digitization of patient data and medical records used by the healthcare-industry in Sweden is rapidly developing. However; developing and changing things in this field is not an easy task because of the circumstances surrounding it. Digital systems intended to process, and hold, sensitive personal data, such as medical journals, must be developed with laws, confidentiality, integrity and availability in mind to secure that none of this data gets compromised.A complicating factor in regards to this is the fast rate of development within IT in contrast to the much slower bureaucratic process of the justice system. Corporate governance intensified due to the corporate scandals in the USA which led to a new law the so called Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).In 2005 the "Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning" (The Code) was introduced. The main purpose of The Code is to strengthen the confidence in Swedish companies quoted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The Code focuses on the working process of boards. The rules set by The Code places higher demands on the board.  Among many other duties the board has to establish long term operational goals and strategy.

Corporations meet complex challenges as they operate on a global market. Global multidimensional problems are referred to wicked problems and which cannot be solved only managed. In this case, of certified palm oil, palm oil production can be seen as a wicked problem due to deforestation of rainforest, land grabbing and social conflicts. There are also conflicts regarding the value and interest of palm oil. This thesis investigates the Swedish transformation for certified palm oil and how actors in the Swedish food market address this transformation to have certified palm oil in their production. The aim of this thesis is to explain enabling factors to address the governance gap of ethical sourcing in the food industry.

Tutor: Malin Stegmann McCallion. ?Democratic Accountability in Networks? The aim of this study is to highlight the problem of the democratic deficit in the private-public partnerships in Sweden. This is a comparative case study with four ideal types.

The aim of this comparative study is to analyse the French and the Polish regional governance in order to see if there are any differences in their regional ruling systems. Further more I will study their different possibilities in taking part in the European Union regional political market. The shape of the regional systems will be explored both organisationally (study of the institutional entities of the regional construction) and functionally (study of the competencies of the regional body etcetera) to focus on its cause on the regional development. My over all focus will be to find out whether regional rule means differently in the countries France and Poland.Several questions are dealt with and the two main ones are as follows; How do the different structures of the form of government in France and Poland influence the governance on the regional level? Do Poland, as a new member state of the European Union, have what it takes to face the challenges of the new membership; or are there a complex of problems arising from the admittance that prevent its regions from fully taking part in the European regional political market?Some of my conclusions are as follows;There are major differences between the two countries when it comes to their regional ruling systems leading to different abilities in taking part in the European regional political market.
