This thesis examines source criticism and critical thinking among upper secondary school students in social science in three different schools in Sweden. Our particular focus lies in investigating the student's critical thinking skills and evaluation of digital sources when they work independently with different projects. How do students value and sort the information they find? We looked furthermore at what factors that may influence students in their evaluation of sources. Moreover, the purpose of this thesis to investigate how the student's critical thinking skills can be used as tools to become more information literate in a learning context.

This essay is focused on the marketing phenomenon buzz marketing. Buzz marketing is all about making the consumers to talk about your product. In the world we are living in with all the marketing messages, companies tries to find new ways to reach the consumers with their marketing message. This essay, with the title: Among children, laser swords and lions. ? How do we approach and utilize the cultural experiences of children? is an approach to participate in a scientific discussion in the field of cultural experiences. This text is an attempt to show the importance of paying attention to, how children express themselves, and place their activities in social and cultural contexts. By doing so and approaching children and their activities with an intercultural point of view, I can use my new found knowledge and use it to stimulate their future learning progresses in different fields.

Informationskompetens i skolan : En kvalitativ undersökning om hur lärare arbetar med informationskompetens i skolans lägre årskurser och vilken roll skolbiblioteket spelar i den processen.
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to examine and understand how teachers of younger children teach information literacy and also what part the school library and the school librarian take in this process.I have, in the study, used parts of Limberg & Folkesson´s IDOL project as my theoretical framework and the material was collected through qualitative interviews with four teachers. My result of this study indicates that many teachers have a vague idea of what information literacy is. My study also indicates that teachers only teach information literacy occasionally. This despite the new curriculum (Lgr11) which clearly indicates that information literacy is a priority. Some of the teachers express an opinion that the students, for example; in their source critical ability, develop this skill with age.
Human-cattle interactions and attitudes within dairy farming in Sweden and The Netherlands
Human-animal interaction is suggested to be a main feature within livestock production. The quality of handling, for instance, appears to be greatly depending on the attitudes and behaviour of the stock people. Various studies have been conducted on relationships between human and animals, but few have looked upon differences in human-animal interaction and attitudes between countries. Two countries often discussed in livestock production are The Netherlands and Sweden. It would be of interest to compare these two countries to find out whether (assumed) differences are reflected in the attitudes between animal handlers.

Webbaserade tillämpningar och kopplingar mot olika programsystem har blivit allt vanligare i och med det så kallade IT-samhällets utbredning. Tidigare har de flesta webbsidor varit statiska sidor där information ej kunnat påverkas av användaren. Numera bygger webbtjänster allt mer på dynamiska lösningar där information genereras ur en databas vid det ögonblick den efterfrågas. Detta examensarbete har bestått i att hämta information från ett ekonomi/tidrapporteringssystem och dynamiskt skapa rapporter av denna information i ett webbaserat gränssnitt. Ett antal rapporter har fördefinierats och användaren kan styra vissa urvalsparametrar för att hämta informationen.
Informationsbehov hos förstainsatspersoner, SOS Alarm och blåljusaktörer vid räddningsinsatser
Tillgång till relevant information är av stor vikt för SOS Alarm, polis, ambulans, räddningstjänst och förstainsatspersoner. Likaså kan brist på information försvåra en räddningsinsats då det kan orsaka en försämrad situationsmedvetenhet hos aktörerna som kan göra det svårare för dem att fatta goda beslut. En utforskande studie utfördes för att ge en första inblick i vilken information som är viktig för dessa aktörer, vilken information de använder sig av, vilken information de saknar och hur tillgången till information kan påverka situationsmedvetenheten hos aktörerna. Semistrukturerade intervjuer med Critical decision method som utgångspunkt utfördes med nio deltagare där fokus låg på informationsbehov. Två huvudsakliga informationsområden visade sig vara en beskrivning av olyckan och dess geografiskt läge.

The purpose of this master thesis is to evaluate how the current share price and market consensus affect security analysts target price and if an investor should pay any attention to it. Empirical data is primarily collected from qualitative interviews with ten security analysts but also from a quantitative e-mail survey. Our main finding is that security analysts are indeed affected by each others earnings forecasts as well as the current share price. This is not strange, it is in several aspects rational. Security analysts has often nothing to gain by standing out too much and not either by spending too much time trying to create their own opinions due to lack of time or the complexity of what is analyzed.

The purpose with this study is to enlighten and discuss the information and communication which is spreading through social media, about the tourist operators and also to examine the operators view on social media. Social media can be described as a tool to use word of mouth on the Internet. To make this possible, five actors involved in tourism were picked on Gotland and interviewed for a content analysis. The results showed that the use of social media as an information channel before the consumer buys a trip, has increased. The study also shows that the selected actors have a lot of work to do, before they understand how to use the social media in their best interest for further developing their companies.

A good flow of information in organizations is one of the key aspects of how we define a well-functioning organization. The information flow could be internal as well as external between actors within as well as outside of the organization. In a logistics organization this flow of information is equally important as in any other kind of organization. In this paper we have explored information flows in logistics organizations by applying, boundary spanning and the mobile-stationary divide perspective. In boundary spanning the main goal is to erase or relocate some of the boundaries within an organization, in our case to make the flow of information internally as well as externally better.

Är det svårt att hitta i en mobitelefonmanual? : En kvalitativ fallstudie om informationssökning och användbarhet
This master thesis states the following questions: Is it easy or difficult to retrive information from a mobile phone manual? How can the search process be described among user for a mobile phone manual? What similarities and differeces can be identified between users? Arhe there any variables that affect search performance such as reading skills or technical domain knowledge? Eight mobile phone users participated in an empirical observation and the scope was to find information in a paper version of a mobile phone manual according to given tasks. The results shows that some users has problems to retrieve information due to that the correct page in the mobile phone manual could not be located. The results show that the user is using several search strategies, for example the table of contents and the index, when trying to locate information. The results also revel that the user initiates multiple search steps before the correct information can be located.
Förstagångsväljare och medier 2010 : En kvantitativ studie om politisk information och unga väljare i en fragmenterad medievärld.
Denna studie går ut på att undersöka vilka mediekanaler unga förstagångsväljare använde sigav för att få politisk information innan och under riksdagsvalet 2010. Syftet är också attundersöka hur traditionella massmedier, som tidigare varit den dominerande källan förpolitisk information, står sig i relation till sociala medier i den fragmenterade medievärld vilever i idag. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är utifrån Uses and Gratifications-teorin samttidigare forskning rörande förstagångsväljare och sociala medier. Metoddelen är kvantitativ iform av en frågeundersökning med gymnasieelever som läser sista året på gymnasiet.Datainsamlingen genomfördes i Sundsvall och Jönköping under december 2010. Resultatet visar att unga förstagångsväljare fortfarande anser att de traditionella medierna,främst TV, är de viktigaste för deras politiska information. Det framgår också i resultatet attdet politiska intresset hos unga ökar under valår.
Komvuxstuderandes informationssökning och biblioteksanvändning som redskap i lärandet
The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate how students at an upper secondary school for adults use school and public library when searching for information for school assignments. The focus in this investigation is on the feelings and experiences of the process of the information seeking and use. The focus is also on the students experiences of school and public libraries and the help they receive from them in learning. The method used is focus groups interviews. Two groups were interviewed.
