Information Oveload - en studie om informationsarkitektur och användbarhet på webben.
Webben är idag en viktig kommunikationskanal, men för att kommunikationen skall fungera effektivt krävs kunskap om användarna ? Vilka är de man kommunicerar med? Vad har de för kunskaper, förväntningar och behov? Stora webbplatser innehåller mycket information och denna information måste struktureras för att folk enkelt skall kunna hitta den information de söker. Region Skåne lanserade år 2005 Vårdgivarwebben. En webbplats med syfte att förse alla vårdgivare i regionen med gemensam hälso- och sjukvårdsrelaterad information. Webbplatsen innehåller ett rikt och varierat informationsmaterial.
Den uppkopplade enkätundersökningen : En studie av informationsvisualiseringen i Mentimeter
A new phenomenon on the Internet is the online audience response. Mentimeter is a web-based tool where you can create online polls. The users can then cast a vote and the result is shown in real time. We want to test the information visualization in Mentimeter and we base our hypothesis, that a better graph design is possible, on the work of Edward Tufte and Stephen Few. Edward Tufte is an emeritus at Yale University, where he held courses in statistical evidence and information design and has created theories about how visual information should be designed.

Abstract The technology has made it possible for you as a train traveller to be available in other places than stations and on the train. You now have the possibility to communicate by the phone or through the Internet to get information about the train you want to take. Development in mobile technology gives us new possibilities to communication. We want to find out whatever SMS would be a suitable approach to inform passengers about delays. The problem formulation is ?If the technology is available to inform the passengers about delays in an more effective way than today, then why not use it? The ?Kustpilen? that operates in Blekinge and Skåne is the case for our study.
To derive quality from quantity
The purpose of this master thesis is to present a model that illuminates the important factors when deriving technical information from market data within a company. For companies to be able to become and stay competitive in the market, product quality is an important factor. Whilst good product quality leads to customer satisfaction and loyalty, lack of quality brings costs in service and replacements. To improve product quality, the developers need information and knowledge about what quality issues affect existing products. Most companies gather data from market about known issues, but in order eliminate known quality issues in new products; this data has to be transformed into information and knowledge.
Be Wise condomise: a study in Botswana on the spread of AIDS information and how the information is being received
AIDS is a huge problem in the world and it is spreading rapidly, especially in Africa. Botswana is one of the worlds worst-hit countries, with over one-third of the inhabitants infected by HIV/AIDS. The measures that have been taken to stop the spread of AIDS are to inform and enlighten people on how the disease is spread and how to protect oneself. The aim of this thesis is to investigate what different ways of informing people about AIDS different organisations make use of in Botswana. The thesis also addresses how some receivers of the AIDS information experience it.
Partners erfarenhet av information vid hjärtinfarkt : En systematisk litteraturstudie
Bakgrund: Hjärtinfarkt påverkar patienten och dess partner emotionellt under lång tid vilket gör det betydelsefullt med god information till båda parter.Syfte: Syftet var att belysa partnerns erfarenhet av information när deras make/maka har drabbats av hjärtinfarkt.Metod: Studien var systematisk litteraturstudie där artikelsökningar gjordes i databaserna Cinahl, PubMed och PsykINFO. Av de tolv artiklar som har använts var fem kvantitativa och sju kvalitativa vilka analyserades med hjälp av Lundman och Hällgren Graneheims (2012) innehållsanalys.Resultat: Resultatet presenteras under rubrikerna: Informationskällor, informativt stöd, informativa brister och informationsbehov. Slutsatser: Rutiner vid informationsprocessen kunde hjälpa sjuksköterskan att ge adekvat information. Partnern upplevde det positivt att tala med andra som varit i liknande situationer vilket var något som sjuksköterskan kunde utnyttja i sitt arbete..
Information som självständigt objekt : ett alternativt skydd för företagshemligheter?
Vi lever idag i vad som populärt brukar kallas för ett informationssamhälle, vilket innebär att det i många företag förekommer en avsevärd mängd företagsspecifik information. Det kan röra sig om specialutvecklad källkod, om affärsplaner, kunddatabaser, organisationslösningar med mera. Sådan företagsspecifik information kan skyddas både genom immaterialrättsliga regler och genom de regler om skydd för företagshemligheter som finns införda i svensk lagstiftning. Dessa regelverk är i svensk rätt intimt förknippade med en syn på information som något abstrakt och icke-fysiskt, något som i sig självt inte kan ägas på samma sätt som lös egendom med fysisk substans. Trots att information därmed inte kan ägas, i ordets traditionella betydelse, har lagstiftaren ansett att det i vissa fall är berättigat att inte se information som allmän egendom, utan att det finns anledning att skydda informationens rättighetshavare från obehörigas tillgrepp.

AbstractPropose/Aim: The aim of this paper is to examine why the view of the conceptions, within the field of professional information and communication, seem to differ within the labour market of Sweden. This paper will investigate the two main professional roles that are at the centre of the field?s confusion and disorder. These are the Information Specialist and the Communication Specialist. The main question here is to answer whether there is a significant difference between the two or not and also gain knowledge about why the two titles are not used consequently within the labour market.Material/Method: The method used for this study is of a qualitative character.

The explosion of information technology has given users direct access to an ocean of information. Increased availability puts increasing demands on the ability of students and researchers to search for, filter, and structure information. In response, the role of the research library has shifted from being primarily an information resource to being an educational resource with a focus on teaching users what is known as information literacy. This thesis is a study of user-education at the Karolinska Institute Library KIB, the largest medical library in the Nordic countries. KIB has invested significant resources in developing user-education, and has a full-time user-education developer and a formal pedagogical platform for user-education.
Patienters upplevelser av information inför en operation
Inför en operation med generell anestesi upplever en stor del av patienterna oro som uttrycker sig på olika sätt. För att patienten ska kunna uppleva trygghet och delaktighet i sin vård är en god vårdrelation mellan anestesisjukskörskan och patienten centralt. Genom information kan patientens oro minska samt upplevelse av trygghet öka. Syftet med studien var att belysa patientens upplevelse av patientinformationen. Studien utfördes med kvalitativ ansats med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer.
Strategins inverkan på chefers upplevda informationsbehov
Vi vill undersöka kopplingen mellan företagens strategi och chefernas informationsbehov. Vi gör detta för att se hur chefernas informationsbehov ter sig utifrån vår tolkning av Porters teorier. För att uppfylla vårt syfte och för att besvara vår problemformulering har vi använt oss av en deduktiv, kvalitativ metod som bygger på personliga intervjuer med fyra verkställande direktörer. Våra slutsatser är:Företagens strategi påverkar informationsbehovet.De differentierade företag vi undersökt tillskriver information om hot och möjligheter lika värde och går därmed inte miste om information om hot från sina konkurrenter. Ej i enlighet med en tidigare studie av Jennings & Lumpkin.
Intranät från ett användarperspektiv: En fallstudie om hur en grupp bibliotekarier upplever och använder sig av intranät i deras yrkesroll.
This is an investigation into the ways in which a group of librarians experience and make use of the intranet in their vocational role. The theoretical frame of reference consists of a model of how professionals seek information, which is based on a role-theory. As a method, I have applied a qualitative case-study. Using semi-structured qualitative interviews I have interviewed five librarians and the webmaster responsible for the intranet in their library. I have investigated how elements such as the age and vocational role of the librarians affect their use of the intranet.
En diktaturs väg in i Informationssamhället Kina och World Summit on the Information Society
This masters thesis investigates the relation between China and the Information Society as it is manifested in the UN conference the World Summit on the Information Society WSIS. The first phase of this two-phase conference took place in Geneva 10-12 December 2003, with two documents, Declaration of principles DP and Plan of action PA, as main results. The information policy is central to an authoritarian rule in its efforts to keep control over the national identity. The thesis investigates the impact that the information revolution and Internet might have on the Chinese national identity through the acceptance of DP and PA in various aspects. With the use of the information science theories by Manuel Castells and Frank Webster, the vision of WSIS was compared with the Chinese information policy.
Strukturering av besiktingsfeloch information : En undersökning av besiktningsbilagor
Inspection errors are nowadays usually written with pen and paper during building inspections. A company in Stockholm is developing a method by which inspections are made digitally from the beginning and where the inspection attachments shall be stored in a database. The idea of this method is that entrepreneurs can use the database to get an experience feedback from previous surveys so that they can improve their production processes. One problem that occurs is how inspection errors will be sorted into the database. They have to be sorted so that contractors or clients can use and sort out the information in a sensible way when they want to evaluate and make improvements in their production processes.This thesis examines how the inspection errors can be sorted in a structured manner.

Background: Resources that are hard to put a value on and cannot be classified as assets in the balance sheet as well as the development towards the information society has led to an increasing need and use for voluntary information in the annual reports. The increase of voluntary information can foremost be seen in the field of human resources.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to describe the development of voluntary information about human resources in the annual report of a number of Swedish quoted companies. The purpose is also to see if there is a difference in the development between manufacturing companies and service companies.Method: Six manufacturing companies and six service companies were chosen from the Stockholm exchange A-list. Using both a qualitative and quantitative research method the annual reports of the chosencompanies were studied for the years 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, and 2003. A model consisting of seven categories; health, diversity, recruitment, staff turnover and comfort, benefits and motivation, education and competence development, was developed to clarify were the development took place.Conclusions: After finishing the study one can tell that the amount of voluntary information about human resources in the annual report has increased even though the percentage share of the total annual report only has increased appreciably for manufacturing companies.
