Construction accounts for about 35 percent of the total Swedish energy consumption and most of the energy is used by the large housing stock from the so-called ?Million program?. In the national action plan the government has put forward in energy efficiency. It is mentioned that existing buildings account for more than 90 percent of what is expected to be the housing stock within the coming 50 years. In order to meet environmental objectives its required that the existing stock be reviewed for energy efficiency. The goverment is now initiating a national framework with a budget of SEK 300 million Swedish crowns per year for five years, starting in 2010 to achieve the goal on energy efficient buildings. Energy efficiency of buildings in both new construction and above all within the existing stock are addressed.

Solid waste management is one of the most essential functions in a country to achieve asustainable development. In India, it has been one of the least prioritized functions during thelast decades. The most common ways to treat waste in India today are open dumping anduncontrolled burning. These methods are causing severe environmental pollution and healthproblems. India is one of the world?s largest emitter of methane gas from waste disposal.Since methane is a strong greenhouse gas, even small emissions have large impact on theclimate.

This master of economics paper discuss that the globalization has lead to increasing internationalization among small Swedish IT- companies in the service sector. Sweden has a long history of foreign trade but in the beginning of the Industrialization only large companies that produced goods answered for the foreign trade. Before, the Swedish companies begun their operations abroad in fairly nearby markets and only gradually penetrated far-flung countries. Now this is no longer possible. When small companies nowadays seek growth in other countries there is no time internationalize with the same approaches as before, especially when the company offers a service.

Denna rapport presenterar det examensarbete som gjorts i samarbete med företaget Artimplant. Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram en prototyp av ett meniskimplantat i trikåteknik. Det kräver stickning av en given form och att prototypen ska inneha vissa egenskaper.Ämnesområden som berörs under arbetets gång är textiltillverkning med inriktning mot väfttrikå samt medicinsk textil. Förutom textila ämnesområden tas även ämnen som knäledens anatomi och meniskens uppbyggnad, funktion och skador upp. Kunskaper inom dessa områden krävs för att på bästa sätt ta fram prototyper av meniskimplantat.Att sticka det triangulära tvärsnittet och den böjda formen som krävs för ett meniskimplantat har varit ett arbete som pågått under hela projektet.
