Uppvärmningssystem - En analys av valmöjligheter för småhus
When constructing a new house many questions appear, from architecture to decisions regarding installations. Sweden is situated in a cold part of the planet and questions regarding which heating system to install face everyone who decides to build a new house. This thesis describes a construction solution of a villa in Kiruna. The extended essay analyzes which heating system is most suitable for the construction. The options are geothermal, district and pellet heating systems.

The EU Council adopted in 2007, environmental and energy goals with the aim of them must be met by 2050. This, in combination with those of the Swedish government 15 enacted environmental goals is supposed to lead the way for the Swedish environmental work.This report has examined measures in properties in the Swedish Cooperative Housing Society (SKB) stocks.The report discusses a range of measures that might be appropriate to apply on the properties to make them more energy efficient.One of the measures discussed, the vent whose primary purpose is to create a good indoor environment for the residents but is also where the most energy is lost.Another measure discussed is insulation of the building envelope on the estate to make it more energy efficient. To put extra insulation on the building envelope is important because of the large amount of energy that is lost through the walls, ceilings and floors.Future actions that may be implemented is individual billing of heating and hot water. This system has been used in European countries since the 70's and today the EU wants to increase the own individuals control over their electricity costs. This has led to a discussion whether to implement the system in Sweden or not.However, there are a number of equitable measures to be sorted out before the system can be used in any great scale.Finally, it is important to remember that environmental measures should be the primary and the pursuit of cost reductions the secondary otherwise you risk the environmental work to be counterproductive..
Framtagning och analys av en arbetsmodell för kartläggning av användarbehov
This study began with a mission statement from the firm Tobii Technology AB to identify customer needs in the relatively new and rapidly growing market for eye tracking analysis. After consuling external experts, the authors however found that the availability of previous academic published market studies of new and fast growing markets was poor. Therefore a decision was made to execute the task and at the same time create a methadology for future studies in this area. The identification of customer needs, which formed the basis of the insights and analysis, led to frequent discussions between the authors and the firm's supervisors. This resulted in a project plan and a decision that an iterative model would be used, were earlier decisions would be questioned and refined throughout the project.
Mellan stad och hav - kajpromenad i Kalmar
The aim of this project is to investigate the meeting between the city and the sea and tolook into how that could be developed and made use of. I want to find out how you can increase the availability of a specific place and make it more welcoming, I also want to bring life to an already existing space and create a central meeting place in the city. The purpose is to give form to an esplanade along a dock in the central parts of Kalmar. Starting with an analysis of this public place, I want to create a concept that is close to the existing context and communicates the contrasts or associations between for example: city and nature, artificial and natural and indoor and outdoor. The primary object of the project is to add a welcoming, public place to the city where you on an accessible way canfamiliarize yourself with the meeting between the city and the sea.
Vattenparken i Enköping : en brukarstudie
Enköpings vattenpark anlades i slutet av 1990-talet som en del i arbetet med att förhindra en hotande övergödning av Östersjön och Mälaren. Dess huvuduppgift är att rena ungefär hälften av Enköpings dagvatten innan det når ut till Mälaren. Förutom denna aspekt har syftet även varit att skapa en attraktiv plats för Enköpings invånare att vistas i och omkring. Min kontakt med parken, från att ha växt upp i närheten, cyklat förbi den under flera års tid, till att faktiskt arbeta i den, fick mig att fundera kring dess övriga men inte fullt så uttalade funktioner. Detta ledde fram till de två frågeställningarna; - Vilken relation har besökaren till Vattenparken och vad betyder den därigenom för dem? För att söka svar på dessa frågeställningar ägde inledningsvis samtal rum med kommunens chef för Vatten & Avlopp, som varit delaktig under hela arbetet med Vattenparken.
The distribution of Moose (Alces alces) during winter in southern Sweden : a response to food sources?
The traditional Swedish way of dealing with browsing damages made by moose, is to reduce the moose population. However, a growing way of dealing with damages made by several ungulate species, including wild boars in particular is to redistribute them with supplementary food sources. Attracting them to settle in habitats less vulnerable to damages made during foraging. This study we tracked collared moose in southern Sweden from January throughout April in the year of 2009. From the tracking data their ?favourite? positions was selected and visited in order to study the features that attracts moose during winter.

Due to increasing regulations regarding new diesel vehicles particulate matteremissions the new Scania truck, Scania Euro 6, has been equipped with a particulatefilter. This component effectively stores the particles in the exhaust gas but must becleaned in order to prevent itself from clogging. The filter is cleaned through aprocess named regeneration which is a thermodynamic process in which thetemperature of the filter is raised through fuel supplied to the exhaust gas.The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to the development of improved controlstrategies of the temperature during the regeneration process through thedevelopment of model-based controllers. These controllers are designed in order tohave good performance in stationary as well as automatic regeneration.In order to develop these model-based controllers a model of the system isconstructed. The model is described as a linear thermodynamic grey-box model withflow varying parameters, showing good results in validation.The model provides a simulation environment during the controller design, which isfocused around the development of linear regulators with the exhaust gas mass flowas a scheduling variable whose size determines controllers? mode of operation.
Förskolerummets pedagogiska dilemma : Pedagogernas syn på miljöns och materialets betydelse.
Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur pedagoger på förskolan tänker om miljön och materialets betydelse för barns utveckling och lärande. Vi har även tagit reda på hur innemiljön på avdelningarna är uppbyggda, om de är traditionella och ser ut som hemmet eller om de är inspirerande för barnen att experimentera och utforska i miljön. Vi har också tittat på hur materialet används och hur detta är placerat och vilken tillgång barnen har till det. Vi har utgått från det sociokulturella perspektivet i studien, vilket menar att det är pedagogen som organiserar miljön runt barnen och att barnen tar hjälp av sin omgivning för att lära och utvecklas. Vårt empiriska insamlande material har tagits fram via intervjuer och observationer.

A building can obtain three different classifications depending on how well it manages to meet the demands. GOLD is the highest classification and is followed by SILVER and BRONZE. The majority of the measures needed to comply with the demands are done during the design phase.

Kan vistelse i skogs- eller hantverksmiljö sänka stressade personers stressnivå? : en jämförande studie
Den gröna naturens betydelse för människans hälsa har länge diskuterats. I dagens samhälle bor allt fler människor i städer med en begränsad kontakt med naturen. Genom att låta personer med höga stressnivåer tillbringa tid antingen i en skogs- eller en hantverksmiljö, och därefter besvara enkäter om sinnesstämning samt upplevelser av miljön, undersöktes miljöernas påverkan på deltagarna. Både den gröna skogsmiljön och hantverkslokalens inomhusmiljö gjorde deltagarna mer avspända, piggare, gladare, mer harmomiska, lugnare och mer klartänkta efter besöket jämfört med före. Dock utmärkte sig skogen genom att den gjorde deltagarna signifikant gladare efter besöket och lugnare även före besöken över tid.
Tätskikt i klimatskal : En studie av byggentreprenörers arbetssätt
As energy prices skyrocket and the environmental issues become more frequently debated, interest in energy-efficient buildings has increased sharply in the past decade. Because of this, the interest to achieve high air tightness in building envelopes have once again awakened, due to a good air tightness contributes to lower energy consumption in several ways and to a healthier indoor environment.As the regulations for energy consumption and controls of achieved air tightness has tightened considerably in recent years, the work regarding sheets for air tightness changed significantly for construction contractors. This thesis includes a study that aims to detect what kind of manuals, recommendations or instructions contractors working according, and how a number of randomly selected construction companies in Halland, Sweden, are dealing with the matter of high air tightness of the building envelopes. The study also includes a knowledge inventory of supervisors, site managers and skilled workers, and what their opinions and attitudes are like towards work regarding the sheets of air tightness. The results have been compared with a similar survey dated to 2004, conducted by the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology.

This report will outline a proposal for the improvement of the baggage sorting facility at Arlanda airport. Swedavia is a state owned company group that operates, owns and develops airports in Sweden. One of their main roles is to create accessibility needed to facilitate and streamline the work at the airport.Swedavia is constantly working to develop new solutions and enhancements that will help to standardize and automate the work at airports without major impact on climate and above all adapt these solutions to work.The project has been aimed to identify and isolate the problem at the check-in counter, investigate the possibility of setting a speed control on the DC motor driving the luggage conveyer belt at the check-in desk so that the luggage does not lose tracking already there, as well as evaluate the new sorting systems planned to be introduce in the upcoming refurbishment of the sorting area.To determine the parameters that are used to regulate the speed of the baggage conveyor belt, information about the inputs and outputs that participated in the process was gathered. Information was collected both practically and theoretically. Process was followed and monitored by the supervisor of the company, and a theoretical study was done separately on my own.
