This Masters thesis aims at investigating how 15-year old girls use the Internet, particularly on their free time, taking a source critical perspective. It includes group interviews. The main question of this thesis was whether there is a need for specific user education. The following four questions were asked: What do they do on the Internet during their free time? In what way do the girls learn how to interact with each other on the Internet? How do they relate to different types of web pages and materials from a source critical aspect? What content do they consider to be relevant in a user education? The study is mainly focused on information use and information behaviour in different contexts.

The purpose of this study was to compare normal electroretinographies (ERGs) from three different canine breeds in order to evaluate if there were any marked similarities or differences between these breeds as to ERG responses. It is known that healthy dogs from different breeds but also dogs within the same breed but in different age categories may have different appearances of their ERG responses. This may be a problem when evaluating if an ERG is normal or not from a dog within a breed not previously examined. Because of this it is important to obtain normal values for each breed and age group in order to be able to use these for later comparisons of ERGs obtained from individuals affected with various retinal diseases. In this study we have chosen to examine dogs within the three breeds: Labrador Retriever (LR), English Springer Spaniel (ESS) and Chinese Crested Dog (CCD). All of these breeds may be affected with hereditary retinal diseases such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It is possible that ERG-responses vary due to a number of different factors.

Background: Competence development has become more important since the pressure on effectiveness is increasing and organisations are expected to constantly improvement. The design of the competence development activities is governed by the strategy which in turn will affect the outcome of the same. A knowledge intense business in which changes recently have taken place is healthcare, a business in which competition also has increased as a result from globalization. Due to this, it is highly important to take care of and improve the competence of individuals. According to this, we have found that healthcare is an interesting business to study with regard to competence development.

The environmental situation is becoming increasingly critical. The energy sector and other industries have a big impact on our climate and the public is raising their voice for companies to admit their responsibility towards the environment and society. Companies engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and happily disclose their responsible performance in annual reports. But what messages are they conveying in their CSR-reporting, and what attitudes towards CSR can be found underneath the explicit content? The aim of this study is to discover which discourses exist in CSR-reports from Swedish energy companies, and how these discourses operate.

Den hÀr rapporten behandlar frÄgestÀllningen om hur man kan anpassa systemutvecklingav ett informationssystem enligt livscykelmodellen till att inkludera anvÀndbarhetstester. FrÄgestÀllningen grundar sig i att god anvÀndbarhet inte Àr ett explicit uttryckt mÄl i Andersens beskrivning av livscykelmodellen. För att besvara frÄgestÀllningen har vi utvecklat och testat ett bokningssystem Ät en mindre verksamhet. Utvecklingsarbetet har bedrivits enligt en egen anpassning av livscykelmodellen. Testerna har utförts enligt metoden cooperativ evaluation.

This study explores the notion of class and social inequality as expressed in the Swedish election campaign of 2006 and in the reception of the Swedish conservative party as a "worker's party". Inspired by Fairclough's critical discourse analysis I have carried through an investigation of the debate. My sources consists in a collection of articles, mainly leader columns and contributions to the debate, from a selected number of Swedish newspapers.I found that an explicit discussion about class, or use of the concept as such, was largely absent. In cases where the concept occurred it was often used in a purely descriptive sense or dismissed as outdated. Furthermore, I have drawn the conclusion that the traditional understanding of class is being challenged by a discourse which aims at establishing a new understanding of social inequality as lack of paid work.I take my point of departure in the belief that class continues to be one of the most important bases of social inequality.

Simkunnighet Àr ett kursmÄl i Àmnet Idrott och hÀlsa som alla elever förvÀntas uppnÄ i grundskolan. I gymnasieskolans kursplaner för idrottsÀmnet har kravet om simkunnighet dock plockats bort. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka i vilken utstrÀckning idrottslÀrare pÄ gymnasiet anvÀnder sig av simundervisning, Àven om simkunnighet inte Àr ett kursmÄl. Studien innefattar en undersökning av de icke simkunniga elevernas möjligheter att lÀra sig simma pÄ gymnasiet samt en undersökning om lÀrare anser att simkunnighet bör vara ett kursmÄl Àven pÄ gymnasienivÄ.Metoden som anvÀndes för att besvara undersökningens syfte var kvalitativa intervjuer. VÄr undersökningsgrupp bestod av fem aktiva gymnasielÀrare i Idrott och hÀlsa i en kommun i norra Sverige.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att idrottslÀrarna anvÀnder sig av simundervisning pÄ gymnasiet trots att det inte Àr ett explicit kursmÄl.

Forskningen i den hÀr uppsatsen handlar om samekvinnor, en grupp kvinnor som kan ses som en glömd kategori i den pÄgÄende genusdiskussionen i Sverige. UtgÄngspunkten för uppsatsen Àr huvudfrÄgan: kan samekvinnor ses som dubbelt diskriminerade utifrÄn ett intersektionellt perspektiv, genom att tillhöra de marginaliserade grupperna kvinna och ursprungsbefolkning? Den anförda teorin i uppsatsen, intersektionellt perspektiv, problematiserar runt olika aspekters interaktion med varandra och inverkan pÄ det upplevda och behovet av hjÀlp. Metoden som anvÀnds Àr kvalitativ intervjumetod. Intentionen Àr att belysa samekvinnors situation som kvinna och ursprungsbefolkning och explicit i kontexten vÄld i hemmets sfÀr som ett exempel pÄ den dubbla diskriminering samekvinnor utsatts och utsÀtts för.

The representative democracy has become weakened during the last decades. At the same time the United Nations declared at the Rio de Janeiro meeting in 1992 that environmental problems can best be solved by involvement of all concerned citizens in decision-making. The main purpose of this study has been to examine if citizens panels is a possible way to involve citizens in environmental decision-making and what the outcomes can be. Furthermore the study has investigated what the participation has contributed to environmental politics and how representative the results have been. This has been carried out by investigating the PiteÄpanel in the municipality of PiteÄ by conducting interviews.The result of the study shows that the involvement of the citizens in the decision-making influenced the environmental politics of the municipality.

The aim with this essay is to investigate the attitude that employers have towards conflicts at the workplace and how this affects their way to prevent and deal with conflicts among employees. Another part of the essay is to discuss pedagogical issues related to learning through conflicts. With this aim and these questions of issues, we have found out which attitude employers have towards conflicts at the workplace as well as how they prevent and deal with them. We have also investigated which opportunities for further development employers sees in situations of conflict. This study is based on qualitative interviews with six women who are head of units within the communal area.

Det Àr en kvalitativ studie som Àr genomförd med frÄgeformulÀr via e-post. Undersökningen visar pÄ förskollÀrares uppfattningar och hur de arbetar med uppdraget att möta alla barn. Studien Àr inspirerad av den fenomenografiska ansatsen och belyser dÀrmed hur förskollÀrare uppfattar nÄgot, i detta fall mötet med alla barn.

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to investigate how working librariansmanage controversial media. It builds on three debates in the media about libraries and booksthat have taken place during the years of 2012 and 2013. The questiones asked were: How dolibrarians manage racist media? How do librarians manage media that instructs on how tocommit crimes? How do librarians manage sexually explicit media? And lastly, how dolibrarians manage pressure from outside of the library? The theoretical framework consists ofRobert Hauptmans division of the two kinds of ethical strands of librarianship, in this thesiscalled ?Free information? and ?Information responsibly?. The method used to collectempirical material was qualitative interviews.

Abstract of How to dress a cloud in trousers? ? A comparative analysis of Swedish translations of Vladimir Majakovskij?s poetryIn this essay I present a comparative analysis of Swedish translations of Vladimir Majakovskij?s poems ??????? ? ??????? and ??? ???? ??????.[1]My ambition is to analyze and understand methods of translation and reasons of devices in transforming Majakovskij?s poetry into a Swedish language and context. On the basis of my theoretic perspectives (which contain fundamental problems of translation, the development of the subject ?translation? and English translations of Russian texts) I methodically execute a parallel reading of the original poems, literature concerning Majakovskij as a poet and selected, biographic literature with a concentration on the works of the Swedish translator and scientist Bengt Jangfeldt.[2]The chapters of my analysis was formed during my methodic reading of theoretic and biographic literature and creates a frame for my results: the analyze of three different kinds of transforming the Russian rhymes into Swedish, the way of translators actualizing and making poems more understandable by placing it in a different context by changing names/national clichés, the effect of using hard or vulgarized language and the inevitable transformation from Russian to Swedish when translators are showing underlying meanings in the strophes by using more poetic language, a discussion of errors in translation, implicit difficulties in Russian use of certain words and the ideology of Majakovskij?s poetry and the Swedish publication/relationship to the authorship.[1]?A cloud in trousers? and ?At the top of my voice?[2]An interview with a Russian-speaking reader is also executed for another perspective of the Russian language.

Denna studie belyser hur kön samt hur heteronormativitet kommer till uttryck i tvÄ lÀroböcker, SamsprÄk 1 och SamsprÄk 2. BÄda böckerna Àr avsedda för att anvÀndas i undervisning pÄ sfi. Syftet med studien Àr att undersöka hur kvinnor och mÀn gestaltas i de ovan nÀmnda lÀroböckerna, samt att analysera förekomsten av heteronormativitet och hur den i sÄ fall kommer till uttryck. Undersökningen genomfördes genom nÀrlÀsning av de valda texterna i böckerna, vilka sedan var i fokus för analysen. Förutom i tvÄ av de texter som analyserades kontrasterades kvinnor och mÀn mot varandra, genom att de i olika beskrivningar eller pÄstÄenden fick stÄ som varandras motsatser.

Det övergripande syftet med studien Àr att undersöka hur ett fÄtal lÀrare tÀnker kring sambandet mellan sprÄk och ÀmnesinnehÄll i ett genreperspektiv. Min ambition var att ta reda pÄ hur lÀrare skapar en sprÄklig miljö som gynnar alla elevers lÀrande men med ett sÀrskilt fokus pÄ flersprÄkiga elever. I litteraturgenomgÄngen belyser jag internationell/nationell forskning i ett genrepedagogiskt perspektiv, frÀmst utifrÄn den australiska genreskolan, Àven kallad Sydneyskolan. Studien har en kvalitativ inriktning och insamling av data har skett genom intervjuer och videoinspelning i klassrummen. Det resultat som framkommer i studien visar huvudsakligen att deltagarna ser en positiv utveckling hos eleverna utifrÄn det genrepedagogiska arbetet.
