Med hjälp av en enkätundersökning undersöks några av de demografiska och ekonomiska faktorer som utmärker en remittör, vilka kanaler för överföringar som används och med vilken frekvens som pengar skickas till utlandet. Data samlades in genom en enkät tillgänglig på Internet under två månaders tid under hösten 2007 och målgruppen var utlandsfödda och senare generationers invandrare i Sverige. För att nå ut till målgruppen kontaktades ett antal invandrarorganisationer och andra organisationer som organiserar utlandsfödda. Sex grupper valde att delta och antalet svarande är begränsat vilket minskar generaliseringsmöjligheterna. Det insamlade datamaterialet analyseras med hjälp av tabellanalys och regressionsanalys.

The objective of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze moving patterns in Norrköping?s municipality. The main aim is to analyze the migration to, from, and within the municipality of Norrköping, not only for the population as a whole but also for groups of special interest. Another aim is to compare migration patterns in Norrköping with those of other municipalities in Sweden.Several data sets have been used, each of them extracted from population statistics carried out by Statistics Sweden (SCB).Data mining using association analysis is used for finding the migration pattern within Norrköping?s municipality and several questions are examined using descriptive statistics.

The aim of this study was to determine to what degree the framing of the political party the Sweden Democrats had changed in swedish media, from 2010 in contrast to 2012. Particular interest was directed towards the framing of the party as a problem.This was done by studying the news articles during 12 weeks in 2010, and 12 weeks in 2012, in the newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen. These particular newspapers were especially interesting to study since they have been outspokenly critical of the party. Both of the newspapers can be said to be among the most clearly critical towards the Sweden Democrats.I studied 256 published articles retrieved through the news database Newsline. Quantitative content analysis was used to determine patterns and tendencies.

Increasing Immigration to Sweden has transformed a culturally homogeneous society into a more heterogeneous one. As a consequence intercultural communication and interaction have been increasing. Child health care agencies have encountered these increases. The aim of this study was to examine what the health care professionals experienced and communicated in these intercultural environments. Eight interviews with child health care nurses were carried through at four child health care centers in the south of Sweden.

This study examines imagined boundaries between Swedes and non-Swedes. Rather than using pre-determined definitions as a starting point, the attempt is to examine the discursive construction of difference. The purpose is not to study the portrayal of immigrants per se but to examine how the ?immigrant-ness? is constructed. The result shows the perception of ?immigrant-ness? is linked more to a person?s origin than to the act of Immigration itself. The selected newspapers are Dagens Nyheter (DN) and Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) for the period of 15th November ? 21st November, 1999.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån en teoretisk kunskap om ungdomars attityder till rasism, främlingsfientlighet och invandring utföra en studie som i praktiken undersöker ungdomars attityder, i årskurs 6 till 9, till invandring och invandrare. En enkätundersökning genomfördes som omfattade 83 elever fördelade på fyra klasser, en i varje årskurs. Undersökningen utfördes på en högstadieskola i en kommun med drygt 9000 invånare i västra Sverige. Enkäten bestod av 10 slutna frågor samt 2 delvis öppna, där eleverna fick möjlighet att motivera sina svar. Resultatet visar att flickor är mer toleranta än pojkar och att elever i årskurs 7 är mer toleranta än sina äldre kamrater.

This essay will explain the effects of decentralisation, and what impact it has on the efficiency to create a better integration for immigrants on the Swedish labour market. Examples of literature that has been examined are Marcus Gossas and Jon Pierre. From these authors, I have been trying to explain the relationship between decentralisation, cooperation and efficiency.Since the end of the Second World War until the middle of 1980, Sweden mostly received labour immigrant. Since then, the immigrant pattern has changed to consist of mostly refugees. Changed Immigration patterns together with increasing debts for the Swedish government has lead to decentralisation and cooperation between public authorities has therefore become a target to reach better efficiency.

It?s relatively green scenery you meet and to me it?s in a way surprising since the country with its climate is rather harsh for the purpose of supporting plant life.

Children are said to be the future of our society. Hence, how we take care of our children is a cause of concern. This is evident in much of the social work that is carried out in Sweden. One of the times when we find children to be the most vulnerable is when they, for different reasons, are separated from their biological families and placed in foster care. Based on the fact that Sweden over the last century has experienced an increased Immigration intake we wanted to take a closer look on how this change of the population dynamics has influenced foster care in the country.

Ett bakomliggande syfte blir dessutom att belysa den judiska historien, som ett ställningstagande, för att ge en historisk relevans till problematiken. Det har forskats mycket litet inom detta område, då det material som finns nästan uteslutande har åstadkommits genom studier av de judar som invandrade från Västeuropa, emedan de judar som invandrade i ett senare skede från Östeuropa knappt har ägnats någon forskning alls. Jag vill därmed påvisa de olikheter som dessa båda invandrargrupper stod för och den problematik som detta förde med sig. Vad krävdes t.ex.

Under senare år har svenska skolungdomars konsumtion av alkohol minskat medan konsumtionen av narkotika har ökat. Syftet med denna studie har varit att ge möjliga förklaringar till de skiftande konsumtionstrenderna genom att undersöka betydelsen av normalisering och kulturell förändring för svenska skolungdomars konsumtion av alkohol och narkotika. Studiens första problemställning undersöker huruvida normalisering har betydelse för ungdomars narkotikakonsumtion utifrån teorier om normalisering av lättare narkotika genom populärkultur och sociala förändringar i samhället. Studiens andra problemställning undersöker huruvida kulturell förändring genom etnicitet har betydelse för ungdomars konsumtion av alkohol och narkotika utifrån teorier om den kulturella förändring som ökad Immigration har fört med sig där etnicitet har en påvisad effekt på framförallt alkoholkonsumtion. Genom statistisk analys av Stockholmsenkäten 2008 har studiens två problemställningar besvarats.

This literature study concerned the use and function of the radioactive isotope carbon-14, as a dating method of organic material, within the scientific field of physical geography. In this report it is presented the need of atmospheric calibration curves and the development of these as a necessity to translate carbon-14 years to calibrated calendar years. A number of common age-depth models that is used to give an approximation of an accumulation sequence and its related dates over the actual time period in different natural archives is presented and discussed. Different problems that commonly occur when age-depth models are utilized as for instance reservoir effects, contaminations or other age deviations are addressed and analyzed. The software CLAM in presented and discussed and was also used to produce age-depth models.

All around the world there are several armed conflicts, where rape is used as a weapon of war against the civilian population. Many take refuge from their countries of origin and may end up in Sweden, where they build a new life for themselves. What preparation is there to welcome these women and help them obtain a deeper sense of psychological well-being? The aim of this study was to reach an understanding of how professionals view the meeting between themselves and women who have been subjected to rape in times of armed conflict, as well as how the work with this group could be improved. The study had a qualitative approach and has been carried out with semi-structured interviews.

This thesis focuses on immigrant fathers and the specific situation they face arriving in Sweden. The purpose of this study is to examine various systemic obstacles and eventual possibilities these fathers may encounter in the new country and how they affect their fatherhood. The paper is based on four interviews, with three men and one woman, who work with immigrant fathers partly in parenting educational programs. The informants? professional background varies.

Introduction: Dental health globally is not equally distributed as shown by caries prevalence is higher in areas with more Immigration outside Scandinavia and Western Europe and areas with lower socioeconomic status. To reduce the health inequalities in Borås, a dental health project was made in five kindergartens in the district Hässleholmen. Purpose: The purpose of the survey was, by interviews with the actors involved (teachers, children, parents and the public dental service) find out the views of the project, and whether the project is relevant and should continue. Method: The method used was qualitative interviews with the actors involved in dental health project. A total of 21 interviews were then consolidated by a qualitative content analysis.
