The aim of this study was to describe and analyze the participation of immigrant organizations to the partnerships in the Equal program in Sweden. The focus of the study was on the significance of the participation for the organizations and its impact on them. The point of view of the participant organizations has been object of study through interviews with the persons who, on behalf of the organizations, have been in charge for the work with Equal. Interviews have been conducted with people representing 10 of the 21 immigrant organizations that have been identified among the Swedish Equal partners. Many organizations have experienced that the participation has strengthen the awareness of target groups about their needs and their possibilities.

Bakgrund: Kvinnor som röker kan drabbas av minskad fertilitet och det kan ta längre tid för dem att bli gravida. Forskning visar att rökning i samband med graviditet bland annat kan leda till missfall, låg födelsevikt och plötslig spädbarnsdöd. En stor andel av dessa kvinnor är medvetna om riskerna rökning under graviditet kan medföra men trots det fortsätter de att röka. Om vårdgivaren är medveten om de bakomliggande faktorerna till kvinnornas rökbeteende kan hen erbjuda kvinnan en individanpassad omvårdnad. För att kunna erbjuda rätt vård är personcentrerad omvårdnad viktigt.

The concerning issue of declining number of hunters in North America is also apparent in Europe and Sweden. When the bulk of research found on human dimensions and hunting participation has almost exclusively been done in the United States, this report seeks to add to the needed knowledge on a national level focusing on the causes of hunter declines related to social factors within Sweden. Using hunter data reaching from commune, county to National level, this report describes the correlation between a number of variables and the hunting participation in Sweden.The typical Swedish hunter lives in an area with low population density, the person usually has higher education, the living situation is stable with no recent moving and there is relatively good access to forest land. Persons with weaker connection to the Swedish culture such as foreign citizens, people with foreign background and people born outside ?the Nordic countries? are less likely to start hunt or participate in hunting.A strong relationship was found between the favorite game, moose (Alces alces), and the amount of hunters participating in the hunting.

I ett audionomperspektiv gjordes en litteraturstudie av transponering av frekvenser som teknik i hörapparater. Relevant information från vetenskapliga artiklar valdes för att beskriva när det kan vara aktuellt med denna anpassning och vilka ljudsituationer som kan förbättras. Vid frekvenstransponering flyttas inkommande frekvenser från ett frekvensområde till ett annat frekvensområde vid utsignal. Flera tidigare studier har gjorts med olika anpassningar av denna teknik och de flesta av dem visade på problematik, t ex ett alltför onaturligt ljud. Senare studier visade på att tekniken kan passa för personer med svåra diskantnedsättningar där förstärkning inte räcker till, men att det var viktigt att anpassa tekniken individuellt och att träna på användandet.

The purpose with this project was to invent a product that secures buildings sewersystems against rats. The problem was presented to us by a local building maintainer inHalmstad, who had experienced big problems with rats in his real estate. The project hasbeen carried out by Per Johansson, Robert Lidén and Niclas Nilsson under our ownauspices. We are primarily sponsored by AMLI Business Partner but also byInnvationsgruppen, Halmstad Fastighets AB and Anticimex.To be able to secure a whole building with only one product we came to the conclusionthat the product must be placed in the horizontal sewer pipe that connects with themunicipal sewer system. Our goal was to invent a product that prevent rats from passingand at the same time not affect the water flow.

This thesis work has been carried out at the consultant company Pöyry Sweden AB in Norrköping, whom performs the task for E.ON heating Sweden AB, Händelöverket in Norrköping. The report shows methods to manufacture slurry consisting of fly ash and water. The slurry shall be pumped into several former oil storage rock shelters that E.ON has put into operation for the specific purpose. The ash mixture also develops hydrogen gas in contact with water.The work has aimed to produce different suggestions of methods and equipment that can be used for the objective. Mixing method and security issues were in centre while working with the suggestions.

Kronvittnessystem har vid ett flertal tillfällen diskuterats i svensk politik som en möjlig åtgärd i arbetet mot organiserad brottslighet. Ett kronvittne är en person som vittnar om sin egen eller andras brottslighet och på grund av detta erhåller ett mildare straff för sina brott. Flera andra länder använder sig av kronvittnessystem på grund av de nyttor som finns med det, men forskning visar att det även finns problem med systemet. Syftet med denna studie är att besvara frågan vad kriminella personer har för uppfattning om att kronvittna i ett kronvittnessystem. Kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med före detta kriminella med erfarenhet av organiserad brottslighet.

Idag lever cirka 40-65% av Sveriges befolkning med kronisk smärta. Påverkan av kronisk smärta på en persons livsstil varierar, en del ser smärtan som en olägenhet i vardagen medan andra upplever att smärtan påverkar varje aspekt av livet. Det är inte lätt att behandla kronisk smärta då variationer på smärtan är många och diagnosen ofta är osäker. Alternativa metoder för att behandla smärta blir allt vanligare och en sådan metod är mindfulness. Syftet med studien var att beskriva den samlade kunskapen kring mindfulness verkan hos personer med kronisk smärta.

Background: The increasing globalization of business and research has led to an increased demand for international meetings. This is a market that a number of countries wish to access and the competition is fierce to get the chance to host major conferences. Stockholm has a pronounced good position in the international meeting market and this essay will examine what it takes to be a successful meeting destination for international congresses.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to examine the fundamental factors that must be met for a meeting destination to be successful in the international market for conventions.Question at issue: How can a city develop into a more attractive meeting destination for international congresses?Method: Persons with key positions in the Stockholm meeting industry have been approached by qualitative interviews by the authors.Theory: As a theoretical framework the authors used the value of the physical meeting, generally on the congresses, the planning process for site selection for the meeting, the meeting platform and image.Conclusion: The authors' findings are based on the empirical material gathered during the study interviews. The results from these interviews show the importance of facilities and hotels, availability, and the image..

Bakgrund: Diabetes typ 2 är en av de vanligaste folksjukdomarna och orsakas av både arv och miljö. Sjukdomen medför en risk för att drabbas av komplikationer, bland annat hjärt- och kärlsjukdom och nedsatt perifer cirkulation. För att undvika detta har en persons levnadsvanor en stor betydelse, detta genom fysisk aktivitet och hälsosam kost. Genom att förändra sin livsstil kan upp emot 80% av fallen förebyggas.Syfte: Litteraturöversiktens syfte var att beskriva upplevelsen av livsstilsförändringar hos personer med diabetes mellitus typ 2.Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på sexton vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ ansats. Artiklarna har granskats och analyserats utifrån Fribergs femstegsmodell.Resultat: Upplevelsen av livsstilsförändringar påverkades av olika faktorer.

The purpose of this study was to, using statistical analysis, investigate to what extent families of a different cultural background have participated in family therapy and other family treatment programs at Familjeenheten in Lund. With questions regarding the goals of treatment, and the importance of cultural competence in the treatment process we have let two unit managers comment on the statistics. The population of the study is too small to allow general conclusions to be drawn, however, we have been able to ascertain that families of a different background are over-represented relative to their percentage of Lund´s population. Familjeenheten has no statistical record of ethnicity and the interviewed persons express no certain importance in the families´ cultural origins. They express no need to develop special treatment methods that take the clients´ cultural background in regard as they feel that so many of family issues are universal.

Relationer är ett av de grundläggande band vi har i livet och är en viktig aspekt för den psykiska hälsan. Denna studie behandlar en speciell typ av relation, nämligen relationen mellan kontaktpersoner och deras brukare. Studien fördjupar sig i kontaktpersonernas egen upplevelse av många gånger en diffus relation som de har till sina brukare. Den diskuterar om den betalda relationen mellan kontaktpersonerna och brukarna är vänskaplig eller om den är mer professionell i sin natur samt belyser en del etiska problem som kan uppkomma i den här typen av relation. Den aktuella studien innefattar en kvalitativ ansats och bestod av semistrukturerade intervjuer i syfte att belysa relationen mellan kontaktpersoner och sina brukare.

This paper investigates the level of consciousness regarding to the diversity work in the municipalities of Malmö, Lund and Landskrona. The study focuses on persons in a middle management position connected to various spheres of activities in each municipality. A survey concerning each municipality's diversity plan, diversity work, recruiting process, education and knowledge was used to investigate the participants' consciousness. The survey poses similar questions regarding equality between the sexes to compare the results from each field. The paper presents an overview of the development of Sweden's labour market and society, and gives an account for the differences between immigrants and natives positions in the labour market.

Äldre erbjuds inte naturkontakt och en miljö som är anpassad efter deras behov på det särskilda boendet. Med en funktionell och tillgänglig trädgård, en lockande och restorativ utsikt och naturelement i innemiljön, skulle de äldre få möjlighet att ta del av naturens positiva, hälsofrämjande effekt. Syftet med studien var att undersöka äldres möjligheter till naturkontakt på det särskilda boendet, där deras utemiljö, utsikt och naturelement i innemiljön studerades. Metoden var en miljöanalys av samtliga särskilda boenden (n=6) i en småstadskommun, samt av äldreboendet Vigs Ängar som i studien fungerade som en referens. Resultatet visar att flera särskilda boenden har trädgårdar som erbjuder kvaliteter som är viktiga för de äldre, men tillgängligheten är så dålig att de äldre inte kan använda någon av trädgårdarna självständigt. Det särskilda boendet erbjuder utsikt mot natur och den egna trädgården, men naturelement i innemiljön är en resurs som inte utnyttjas.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate librarians? experiences and opinions about a system for fiction retrieval based on the subject headings list Att indexera skönlitteratur. I want to know if librarians experience that subject headings searches for fiction literature are a good working tool, if there according to librarians are other resources and means that makes fiction available and searchable, and how they estimate the possibility of non-professionals to use subject headings for fiction retrieval. Six librarians at public libraries in Göteborg where interviewed. The interviews dealt with their work with fiction literature, their experiences of subject headings as a fiction retrieval tool, and with their contacts with patrons.
