På soptippar i tredje världen tronar berg av defekta svenska datorer som förgiftar marken och människorna som lever i områdena. The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate the role of link collections in Swedish public libraries mediation of Internet resources. The study is focusing on the effects on the contents and the structure in the link collections when the target group is immigrant users. This is done through literature studies completed with an examination of two link collections containing multi-cultural and multi-lingual material and qualitative interviews with the two librarians who are in charge of the collections. The major questions raised in this study are: What function do the link collections have for the public libraries? What is the difference in working with traditional, printed material compared to the work with Internet resources? And how are the selection of Internet resources and the structure of the link collections affected when the collection is intended for immigrant users? The main results are that link collections in public libraries can give a concrete form to political guidelines.

Bakgrund: Kärnan i omvårdnaden består av mötet mellan sjuksköterska och patient, där patienten görs delaktig. För att kunna mötas krävs en god kommunikation. I vården av en patient med ett annat modersmål kan språket bli en barriär, vilket kan överbryggas med hjälp av en tolk. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att belysa sjuksköterskans erfarenheter av kommunikation med patienter som har ett annat modersmål. Metod: Metoden som användes var en litteraturbaserad studie, där 12 kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades.

Bakgrund: Via den ökande immigrationen förändras patientklientelet och sjuksköterskor möter fler immigranter i deras dagliga arbete. Vissa immigranter kan inte tala det språk som är officiellt i det land de immigrerat till. Det leder till högre krav på sjuksköterskors kompetens.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskans erfarenhet av att kommunicera med immigranter som inte talar det språk som är officiellt i det land personen immigrerat till.Metod: Litteraturstudie baserad på nio kvantitativa/kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar. Manifest innehålls analysResultat: Sjuksköterskor upplevde att faktorer som påverkade kommunikationen var resurser, där tid och tolk var av betydelse. Kunskap, så som kulturkompetens.

The purpose of this study was to increase knowledge about what the lives of the unemployed youth of immigrant background looks like, and what the views of the unemployed young people are about work and employment. The study is a qualitative study where the empirical material is based on interviews with seven unemployed immigrant youth between the ages of 19 and 25 years. A study where the central questions was to explore how the informants' living conditions and identity are affected by being unemployed. The other issues aimed at how informants background affected their ability to enter the labour market, and the job expectations the informants had about the future and the Swedish labour market. Empirin have been analyzed with regard to methodology tool based theory, as well as theoretical starting points, such as social capital, formal and informal channels, ethnicity and stigma theory.

In this thesis the author has through a discourse analysis examined how the concept of culture has been used in the discourse of integration during the late twentieth century in Sweden. The author argues that the integration of immigrating people has been the fundamental method in creating Swedish citizens within the immigrant communities. In this discourse the concept ?culture? has been a constant recurring way of explaining differences among the immigrants towards ?ethnic swedes? and Swedish way of life and establishing difficulties in performing integration outside of governmental policies. The present memorandum outlines the structure, theoretical starting points and disposition of a thesis about the activities of Finnish immigrants in a Swedish local community, more specifically their political integration. The intention is to study the municipality of Katrineholm in the years 1944 to 1991.Previous research about the actorship of immigrants in spheres such as politics, labour unions, immigrant associations, educational associations and mass-education, as well as churches and religion, is presented to give an overview of possible areas connected to political integration that can be studied. The overview of previous research also covers local immigrant politics.The intended theoretical starting points for the proposed thesis are political economy and hegemony. The latter is intended to be investigated through its expression in the social relations class, gender, ethnicity, nationality and generation. It is suggested in this memorandum that hegemonies and social relations within a local political economy can be operationalised fruitfully in a study of political integration.

Bakgrund: När omvårdnadspersonal möter patienter som är immigranter med ett annat modersmål så räcker inte språkkunskaperna alltid till. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva omvårdnadspersonals upplevelser av att kommunicera med patienter som är immigranter med annat modersmål. Metod: En litteraturstudie baserad på tio vetenskapliga artiklar genomfördes. Artiklarna granskades utifrån Röda Korsets Högskolas granskningsmall. Resultat: Utifrån det givna innehållet så sammanställdes resultaten under tre kategorier: Språkbarriären som hinder för vård, här uppmärksammas att ?språkbarriären? som uppstår i kommunikationen mellan omvårdnadspersonalen och patientkategorin immigranter, är ett hinder i vården.

Denna uppsats syfte är att analysera hur musikartister använder sig av YouTube som marknadsföringsverktyg, samt vilken betydelse YouTube har för dessa artisters marknadsföring. En kvalitativ och induktiv metod har tillämpats, medan ett antal intervjuer samt en innehållsanalys genomförts som grund till det empiriska materialet. Detta för att få en inblick i musikbranschens syn på ämnet, samt även ge en objektiv bild av hur plattformen används som marknadsföringsverktyg. Slutligen menade studien att ge artister och andra arbetande inom musikbranschen, en bild av hur användandet av denna marknadsföringskanal kan förbättras för att skapa en mer effektiv marknadsföring.  Den teoretiska referensramen har utgått från tidigare teorier kring YouTubes betydelse, roller och potential inom musikartisters marknadsföring. Teorier kring YouTubes möjliggörande för artister att upptäckas av A&R personer eller nya fans, YouTubes påverkan på musikvideons roll som marknadsföringsmedel, samt teorier kring plattformens påverkan på maktbalansen inom branschen har legat som grund.

Today?s electrical grid companies understand that better knowledge of and information about their grid can help realize a smart grid network. One way to gain better knowledge and information about the low voltage network is to install measuring equipment on the substation transformer´s secondary low voltage side that measures the low voltage network losses for that specific substation. By doing so, grid companies can, due to the calculation of the low voltage network losses, identify and address issues such as illegal power dissipation, unmeasured power outtakes, and unsatisfied technical documentation for the substations low voltage network.During 2012, Mälarenergi Elnät AB had a total electrical network loss (both medium and low voltage network losses included) of three to four percent of their total distributed electrical volume. Converting this energy volume into a monetary figure this accounts for a loss of around 30 million Swedish crowns.

The purpose of this study was to discuss young immigrant's experiences of the meeting between their original culture and swedish culture. In this discussion certain emphasis is laid on the formation of identity. In a more specific manner the aim was to find out which underlying circumstances contributed to the individuals choice in considering him- or herself as swedish or not and what these circumstances depended on.The empirical material of this study consists of five lifestories based on the methodological study of narrative. I have analyzed the material with help from Anthony Giddens' theory of structuration with starting point in the conception of ontological safety. I identified four different themes that frequently recured in each lifestory: identity in migration- and integrationsprocesses, the open doors of globalization, "swedish" identity and belonging in two cultures.

The aim of this paper is to investigate and analyze practices in multilingual classrooms of mathematics in a compulsory school in Sweden where immigrant students have been known to succeed. The school is situated in a suburban and segregated area outside a major city where pupils come from mainly limited socio-economic backgrounds. The rate of second language learners are 70% of all pupils in this school.By using ethnographic methods, mainly interviews and participant observation, data was collected in four mathematics classrooms which corresponded to consecutive ages of education. The data include field notes and observation of artifacts in the environment as well as interviews and informal conversations with teachers and school leadership. Information from the school website, the authority in charge of quality in Swedish schools (Skolverket) and the municipality were also used.The analysis is based on a socio-political viewpoint that power is relational and reflected within schools.

Sedan flera hundra år tillbaka har människor immigrerat till Sverige. Efterhand har denna invandring mer och mer reglerats genom olika lagar och samarbeten. I Sverige har det så uppstått en grupp av personer som inte är asylsökande och som av olika skäl lever i landet utan uppehållstillstånd. En del av dessa har tidigare sökt asyl men fått avslag, medan andra aldrig sökt asyl. Dessa personer kan inte åtnjuta hälso- och sjukvård på samma villkor som den svenska befolkningen eller ens på de villkor som staten beslutat att asylsökande ska ha rätt till.
