Den här uppsatsen undersöker hysteri genom verk skrivna utav tre svenska läkare vid namn Seved Ribbing, Olof Hallin och Viktor Wigert under perioden 1875-1930. Frågor som står till grund för undersökningen är hur dessa läkare beskriver hysteri, dess orsak, sjukdomens botemedel, hur kvinnosyn kommer fram genom sjukdomen samt hur läkarna skiljer sig gentemot varandra.En stor inspirationskälla för undersökningen har varit Karin Johannissons Den mörka kontinenten: kvinnan, medicinen och fin-de-siécle (1995) då den tar upp kvinnosynen under 1800-talet och fram till mitten utav 1900. Boken behandlar också kvinnans sociala ställning, de så kallade kvinnosjukdomarna (exempelvis hysteri, galenskap, anorexi) och de ideal som existerade under denna period. Den mörka kontinenten kommer också att fungera som forskningsläge, vilket jag har valt att utgå ifrån i undersökningen..

This study aims to examine attitudes and conceptions of staff who work with mentally disabled persons, concerning normalization and gender. Six qualitative interviews with such professionals were performed and subsequently analyzed. Since the method of this study is qualitative, no claim of generalizability is made. The interview material has been categorized into themes by means of coding. The result of the study is presented according to those themes.

Denna studie är en kvalitativ analys av relationen mellan identitetsskapande, sociala normer och punken som subkultur. Denna studie undersöker hur de normer som reproduceras inom och utom subkulturen punk påverkar de som identifierar sig med denna, samt hur de resonerar kring dessa normer. För att göra detta har jag använt mig av en narrativ metod, där jag intervjuat fyra individer som identifierar sig som punkare. Resultaten visar att alla de respondenter jag intervjuat talar varmt om de normer och ideal som verkar kreativt och sammanordnande inom gruppen, eftersom dessa har en positiv effekt på individernas självkänsla och grupptillhörighet. De talar dock negativt om destruktiva beteenden som ibland sammankopplas med subkulturen, exempelvis drogmissbruk och nihilism.

The aim of this study was to reach a better understanding of voluntary work and its possible influence on the work role. Based on a phenomenological approach, five voluntary workers from the leisure field were interviewed. The interpretation of the empirical data was based on the Humanistic psychology and its theories about personality, self-realization, motivation and emotion. The results show that the motive behind the voluntary engagement varied amongst the participants and all of them stated more than one motive. However, social motives, wanting to learn more and develop their skills and also wanting to help others, were the most frequent motives among the participants. In the light of the theoretical background for this study, these motives can be understood as being due to the need of self-realization and appreciation from others, and also a wish to reach an ideal self.

This research is about six pedagogue´s and their reflections about the size of the children´s group in the preschools. Then I will discuss the pedagogue?s recommendation on the significance of the size of a children´s group learning and development and it´s practical significance for the preschool function. The pedagogue?s statements will be discussed in relation to The Swedish National Agency for Education (TSNAE) guidelines on group size.The theoretical framework of this essay will take an overview of the social cultural perspective, the group size and its significance for both the children´s learning and development, for interaction and communication and TSNAE advice and guidelines.

During the last years a discussion has emerged around problems with Swedish state boards trying to influence the public opinion and even political bodies through different kind of information efforts. Several observers inside and outside the academy have studied how state boards increasingly use information as an instrument and also how political bodies increasingly have given such instructions to state boards. This essay put those studies into the context of both information political history and previous theoretical interpretations in that field of research.The analytical tool consists of four ideal typical ways ('state opinions') to arrange relations between the state and the citizen. Some critics focus on problems with too much political steering and how political majorities uses state boards to spread ideological propaganda. Others highlight problems with autonomy and bureaucratic organizations taking initiatives by themselves to spread normative information.

In the year 1783 a fissure eruption from Laki in the southern part of Iceland produced a large amount of volcanic gases during a period of eight months. The volcanic gases and aerosols spread across the northern hem sphere due to ideal weather conditions and had a substantial impact on the environment, human health and also climate effects. This, so called dry fog, caused severe health problems, which led to death casualties, killing animals, crops and other vegetation. The consequence was a widespread famine which was aggravated by a hard and long winter in 1783/84. Analysis shows that the Icelandic volcanoes are the primary risk to produce dry fog that can affect Sweden.

Body esteem is the affective aspect of body image, which is shaped by social experience. Compared with men, women have a more negative body image, which is more frequently correlated with depression and dysfunctional thoughts, especially in the case of eating disorders. The purpose of the present study was to examine gender differences in body esteem and its subcategories, and to find out whether there exists a stronger link between negative body esteem and higher levels of dysfunctional thoughts in women. The relationship between body esteem, dysfunctional thoughts and mental illness was examined. Participants were 73 college students doing social sciences and sports training educations.

Abstract ?The Vampire from past to present?. This essay studies and compares the early historical Vampire as it is presented in some of the Western Europe countries, primarily Greece, but also Romania and how their descriptions of the Vampire have inspired the portrait of vampires in modern films and literature. The essay aims to answer the questions:How has the historical, traditional, European Vampire developed through the centuries into the modern Vampire of today? Which original facts and perceptions about the Vampire from a Christian and pre-Christian point of view can be observed in the modern Vampire, as it is presented in the chosen films and furthermore, can any new ideas be observed in the films?By studying Vampire literature and poems throughout the centuries, a very interesting picture appears.

Vi har i denna studie undersökt om den grävande journalistiken har större möjligheter än journalistik i allmänhet att fullfölja det journalistiska uppdraget. För att kunna svara på den frågan har vi först, genom teori, tittat på skillnaderna mellan den vardagliga journalistikens ideal och hur den fungerar i praktiken. Glappet visade sig vara väldigt stort. Med teorin som grund har vi genom den kvalitativa ansatsen analyserat tre inslag från det grävande tv-programmet ?Uppdrag granskning?.

I denna uppsats undersöker och identifierar jag språkliga strategier i kampanjtexter från Försvarsmakten. Undersökningen syftar till att med hjälp av en sociosemiotisk analys kartlägga de modelläsare som konstrueras i Försvarsmaktens rekryteringskampanjer för grundläggande militär utbildning. Undersökningsmaterialet består av printannonser från tre kampanjer genomförda mellan år 2012 och 2013. Metoden för undersökningen är lånad från Anders Björkvalls avhandling svensk reklam och dess modelläsare och består av en analysmodell baseras på Hallidays systemisk-funktionella grammatik. Modellen tar fasta på textens textuella, ideationella och interpersonella betydelser såväl som textens rekontextualisering.

This is an essay about love and gender representation in Håkan Hellström?s and Veronica Maggio?s lyrics. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how lyrics of indie-pop music represent gender, sexuality and love. The lyrics used is from love songs performed by Håkan Hellström and Veronica Maggio. The method for examining the lyrics of the love songs is discourse- theory and analysis.

This study is based on discussions among Swedish brass teachers about teaching other brass instruments than their main instrument. Why do some choose to teach only with the help of their main instrument while others use their secondary instruments as well? What are the advantages and disadvantages and how do they look upon other ways of thinking in this matter?In addition, the study examines brass teachers? views on the balance between pedagogical and instrumental skill, as well as their views on teaching sound, technique and expression in relation to the age of the student.A questionnaire was used and anwered by 24 teachers with teaching experience in municipal music schools ranging from 7 months to 35 years. The results indicate that pedagogical skill is always important, whereas the importance of instrumental skill increases as the student gets older and more experienced. The advantage of teaching with the help of the main instrument is that one always keeps a high musical and technical level.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur svenska gymnasietjejer positionerar sig gentemot andra och inom sitt egna fält utifrån deras klasstillhörighet och syn på kvinnlighet. Ansatserna är att identifiera den sociala positioneringens betydelse i deras vardag samt diskutera betydelsen av studier som denna i en representationskontext.Intervjuerna är utformade utifrån en tematisk referensram där främst det fria ordet har haft företräde. Analysen av materialet visar på en klassbunden positionering i fråga om hur kvinnlighet framförs och tolkas. Rörligheten i det sociala rummet begränsas av definitioner av hur en kvinna bör vara och inte vara samt hur mycket symboliskt kapital tjejerna upplever att de handlar med på den lokala marknaden. Motstånd mot ideal uppfinns utifrån de resurser som är tillgängliga och risktagande är kopplat till symboliska tillgångar.

The purpose of this paper is to make a feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.
