In this bachelor essay an attempt is done, to recreate a probable Bronze Age landscape on Gotland, with GIS as a tool. The landscape on Gotland is situated with many different monuments dated Bronze Age, such as cairns and stone ships. In creating of the maps, two possible shorelines contemporary with the Bronze Age have been calculated and marked on the maps. Furthermore, peat lands have been drawn upon the maps, by using the information from geological maps.A landscape variable have been compared between Bronze Age places and Early Iron Age houses; the soil type. On Bronze Age places gravel is the most common, while moraine marl is the most common on places with Early Iron Age houses.From a selection that were made, all Bronze Age places where within 3 km from the water, either the recreated shoreline or peat land.

The Swedish Armed Forces have undergone a significant change where we have gone from recruitment through duty and replaced it with a voluntary based defence. Across Europe, countries that have undergone the same type of change demonstrate change in the quality of those recruited. The focus in this paper is how recruitment quality looks in Sweden after three years of volunteer based defence and if officers at P7 can see a change in quality on those recruited. This work aims to investigate whether soldier quality has changed from conscription recruited to voluntary recruited soldiers. The question that the work tries to answer is whether one can see a change in quality in soldiers and in that case how.The result can be summarized as one begins to see a change in recruiting quality but it is not something that is visible at the regiments.

Idag betonas medborgarnas möjlighet, rättighet och ansvar att delta i samhällslivet och ha inflytande över frågor som rör vardagslivet. Detta kan ses som en fördjupning av demokratin mot en deltagardemokrati. Antologin syftar till att problematisera diskussionen om vikten av medborgares delaktighet genom att titta på hur delaktighet konstrueras i olika sociala sammanhang. Utifrån kommunala tjänstemän som arbetar med samhällsplanering, medlemmar i en pensionärsorganisation, föräldrar i skolan, ungdomar i politiska ungdomsförbund och ideellt arbetande eldsjälar i ett bostadsområde har vi belyst delaktighetens variationer. Antologin baseras på kvalitativa studier med intervjuer och observationer.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att se hur migrationsverkets dokument förhåller sig till personer som söker asyl i Sverige på grund av könsidentitet eller sexuell läggning. Våra frågeställningar är: vilka begrepp framstår som viktiga i vår empiri och hur används dem? Hur förhåller sig migrationsverket till heteronormativitet i de dokument som vi analyserar? Presenteras det en ideal person som söker asyl på grund av könsidentitet eller sexuell läggning i dokumenten? För att få svar på våra frågeställningar så har vi använt oss av kritisk diskursanalys som metod och queerteori och makt som teoretisk tolkningsram.Våra huvudresultat i uppsatsen är att migrationsverket använder sig av trovärdighet och öppenhet utifrån en bestämd uppfattning kring vad dessa begrepp ska innebära. Detta leder i sin tur till gränsdragningar och en heteronormativ uppfattning gällande den asylsökande. I och med att man har en tydlig bild av vad som ska ingå i trovärdighet och öppenhet så sker det automatiskt ett osynliggörande av människor som inte uppfyller de rätta kriterierna..

This project had the aim to produce an exhibition catalogue for the ValandSchool of fine Arts (BA level). The purpose was to give the student a professionalfrontage and to visualize there exhibition concept through the catalogue.What elements, typography and shapes should be used for this purpose?How important is the physical format that the catalogue has?Through a massive sketch phase I came to see the difficulties in creating anexhibition catalogue. What type of images, shapes and expressions that couldrepresent the concept behind this specific art exhibition was hard to find.What shape should the catalogue have?The work became more than just making an exhibition catalogue, the cataloguehad to communicate the specific concept in a clear way.

I följande studie har vi valt att studera vad som menas med strategiskt HR-arbete, både som ideal samt i mer konkreta termer. Begreppet strategiskt HR-arbete är väl använt inom dagens organisationer, men den egentliga innebörden av begreppet rent konkret är mer diffust. Syftet med studien är mer precist att beskriva och konkretisera HR-personers egen uppfattning kring vad det innebär att arbeta strategiskt inom HR samt försöka förstå vad det innebär i praktiken.En enkät har skickats ut till 50 personer. 20 personer svarade och svaren analyserades med utgångspunkt ifrån den teoretiska referensram som vi använt oss utav.I teorin beskrivs den historiska utvecklingen av HR-arbete, och vi beskriver de betydelsefulla begreppen PA, HR, HRM och SHRM som ofta förekommer inom HR. Teorikapitlet avslutas med vår egen modell, vilken vi sammanställt utifrån den litteratur vi tagit del av.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to assess whether the overreaction found in ?Does the Stock Market Overreact?? by DeBondt and Thaler still persists today, and by equivalence test if a trading strategy based upon these assumptions would generate abnormal returns. MethodThe research has been carried out by studies of the stocks that for a prior period of one year has over or underperformed their benchmark. The stocks used in my study are all part of S&P500 index, and the period of study runs from three to five overlapping years over the last twenty years. ResultsMy tests indicate that the type of overreaction proposed by DeBondt & Thaler still is present, at least considering the stocks that during the formation period were winners..

This study aims to build a deeper understanding of how differences in identities and communication can affect the possibilities of achieving a successful merger between companies from different type of industries. Our study is of qualitative nature and looks into the specific merger between Företagshälsovården AB and Managementkonsulterna AB. The study builds upon 16 semi structured interviews which are carried out with employees from both parts of the organization and with management personnel. Firstly our study shows that the different identities existing within the different parts of the organization, highly affect the integration process after a merger. Secondly we show that the level of communication transmitted from the management, but also between the different parts of the organization, affects the possibilities of creating a successful merger.

This thesis is seeking to explain why policy change come about. This is done by applying a part of Karin Lindgrens dissertation Vad styr ledaren?. The research evolves around the term pressure and the hypothesis are that policy change come about when there is middle range pressure on the decision-maker. Low and high pressure results in no or small policy change.The thesis is done as a case study where the economic crisis in Thailand 1996-1999 makes my case.

Nowadays, a lot of resources are spent on developing systems that will make it possible forvehicles to act autonomously, and make them more effective. One of the projects that isworking on this is the Gulliver Project. Gulliver has constructed a number of miniaturevehicles equipped with various sensors, to use as a physical testbed for autonomousdriving. One big disadvantage with this method is the long iteration time that occursduring the development and testing of a new software.This project has improved this process by developing a system architecture of a virtualtestbed where it is possible to simulate autonomus vehicles that communicates throughany type of wireless network. The testbed has made it possible to simulate autonomusvehicle systems that with a reasonable margin of error, acts like the system would actin a physical test.

Syftet med studien är att identifiera hur fenomenet motivation konstrueras i tre olika diskurser. Dessa diskurser är fokusgruppsamtal med gymnasieelever, läroplanen för gymnasiet samt en text om motivationsforskning för skolans värld. Analysen av diskurserna är baserad på Faircloughs tredimensionella kritiska diskursmodell. Studien synliggör skillnader och likheter i de studerande diskursena med särskilt fokus på vad detta får för påverkan på elevernas drivkrafter till lärande. Analysen visar att läroplanen konstruerar ett ideal där eleven ses som ansvartagande med motivation till lärande av ett meningsfullt kunskapsstoff.

Nio unga män djupintervjuades i syfte att studera på vilket sätt unga män som ännu inte vet om de är fertila talar om fertilitetens och reproduktionens betydelse för maskulinitetskonstruktioner, samt hur innehållet i deras maskulinitetskonstruktioner påverkas av diskurser kring fertilitet och reproduktion. Metoden var kritisk diskurspsykologisk analys som fokuserade på hur deltagarna använde språket för att konstruera maskulinitet. Intervjudeltagarna konstruerade maskulinitet på ett multidimensionellt och komplext sätt. De använde sig främst av ett distanserat språkbruk präglat av ett ideologiskt dilemma som handlade om pendlandet mellan att positionera sig som traditionellt kontra alternativt maskulin. Innehållet i konstruktionerna utgjordes av diskurser om betydelsen av impotens kontra infertilitet, reproduktion som prestation, att faderskap medför högre maskulinitetsstatus samt att reproduktion och maskulinitet står i relation till reproduktion och femininitet.

Lifestyle magazines portray women in different manners and have an influence on how media consumers create self-images. The importance of knowing how different visual representation of the female acts out in magazines with large target audiences is therefore of weight for the magazines? readers to understand. This thesis analyze how the two lifestyle magazines ELLE and LOVE portrays women in images and how they in turn create ideal images of women.The thesis has been conducted through a qualitative analysis of 5 images from each magazine that represents the magazines artistic styles. The theories used in this study are semiotic image analysis and visual text analysis viewed from a gender- and discourse perspective.The conclusion of this thesis is that ELLE portrays women as strong, happy and feminine, with at tendency towards androgyny, while LOVE describes women as inferior and sexual objects constructed for the male gaze.
