This thesis investigates the dynamics of the relationship between a leader and the followers within a chosen organization. The research on leadership has generally been focused on the leader, and consequently treating the followers like passive subordinates. We pursue a more multidimensional view of the subject, meaning that leadership descends from an interaction between leaders and followers, which makes it relevant to study the dynamics of the relationship from both perspectives. We chose to do a qualitative case study on a middle- and preschool which has won a price for being an ideal place to work at. This price peaked our interest to investigate why the relationships are highly functional in this particular organization.

Manne Bouveng, CEO of Optimel AB had an idea for a new kind of storage cabinet that could be adapted especially for townhouse owners. I came in contact with Manne by a familiar friend for us; we met and decided that it would suit as my thesis.What was needed to be done was a market research that would possibly show that there was a need for a new kind of storage cabinet on the market. Because of this we continued to work on the basic idea. We came up with a solution where we developed a box that resembles Optimels known mailbox Biggi Rondo, the storage cabinet is a new solution of a storage cabinet, adapted after a market that need of a lot of new space. The solution is based on a simple construction which sits an inside hang-off device which can attach tool hooks, tool holders and shelves and so on.The purpose of the assignment was to develop a new type of storage cabinet with some kind of solution to attach tools and other garden related stuff. With this we have succeeded and the concept meets the requirements we set ourselves at the beginning of the project..

I dagens västerländska samhälle finns ett kroppsideal som påverkar unga kvinnors inställning och attityd till den egna kroppen. Kroppsidealet ställer krav på att kvinnan ska vara slank, solbränd och vältränad. Dessa ideal kan medföra att individen ej förmår att acceptera sin kropp. Syftet med denna enkätstudie var att jämföra unga kvinnors kroppsattityder beroende på utbildningsinriktning. Studien genomfördes med en enkät som innehöll Body Attitude Test (BAT) och Figure Rating Scale (FRS).

Hur vi människor ser på oss själva och vårt samhälle påverkas mycket av de bilder som medier visar oss. Medier visar upp ideal som förklarar för oss vad som är manligt och kvinnligt. Ur den aspekten är det därför relevant att undersöka hur dessa bilder ser ut. I den här uppsatsen undersöker jag hur bilden av idealt föräldraskap och moderna föräldrar ser ut i tre svenska föräldramagasin. Mitt mål är att få fram föräldramagasinens bild av moderna föräldrar och föreställningar om vad föräldraskapet innebär.Jag har kommit fram till att de tre magasinen framställer föräldraskapet som både krävande och präglat av dåligt samvete, men något som samtidigt inte är så svårt som det kan verka.

The subject this thesis will investigate concerns the matter of how political ideologies exist within public libraries with a focus on the democratic ideal. Public libraries are part of the political system and we want to show how political ideologies take their shape in public libraries and the possible consequences of this. With the help of three major political ideologies, liberalism, conservatism and socialism we investigate how the democratic ideals of these ideologies are expressed in documents that describes activities the libraries will and have performed. In order to identify these ideologies we use discourses in cultural policy as a bridge between the investigated documents and the political ideologies. As an analytical tool we have developed a model that describes the relation between text, discourse and ideology which we use in our analysis.

Urination is a biological need but the routines surrounding urination are culturally specific and ever changing. This makes the organization of public space an important part in deciding what actions are made possible for the people in it. This paper considers women?s public urination and the possibilities to merge the need to urinate and the construction of the female body as feminine.A number of texts that describe the construction of the female body and identity as both gendered and socially produced are analysed in relation to women?s experiences of incontinence. Incontinence as a medical diagnosis is by this becoming possible to question, and may be seen as one of several strategies used to manage both the organization of the public space and the expectations of the female body to be a docile body.The conclusion is that a woman who wants to enter public space has the following options when it comes to the need to urinate:To strive for the feminine ideal.

The Swedish society and welfare model are under constant changes anddevelopment. One of the core areas in this welfare model is the social policy. By analysing the changing role of the organizations in the civil society on a local level with a theoretical typology changes in the roles can be noted. These changes can with a model for Ideal Types raice questions about bigger changes concerning issues of legitimacy and accountablility. I uses qualitative method including interviews with actors on the local level, earlier reseach in the field and public documents.

The aim was to explore how the first page of a student newspaper has been changed over time since it was founded in the 1960´s.This thesis explores how the front page of the student newspaper Lösnummer has been changed since it was founded in 1966. It concerns the location and frequency of elements and it is based on theories of layout, the first page and visual communicationIn addition, the thesis develops a new kind of method for determining the location of elements on the type area. The method is based on the hexadecimal number system. It is formed as a grid which is placed on the first page to determine the location of the elements.It concludes that the frequency of elements had its peak during the 1970´s and has ever since decreased gradually. Image placement has gone from being scattered all over the front page to be centered and increase in size. .

Föreliggande uppsats belyser granskningens betydelse som ett demokratiskt kontrollinstrument på lokal nivå. Antagandet att väl genomförd granskning ökar möjligheten till att utkräva ansvar av både politiker och tjänstemän genomsyrar uppsatsen. Att offentliga organisationer är komplexa och därmed att den parlamentariska styrkedjans ideal inte är en rättvisande bild av verkligheten bekräftas i en fallstudie av Lunds kommun. Med organisationsteorins kulturperspektiv förklaras detta av att offentliga organisationer är komplexa och att dess informella strukturer och normer gör anspråk på utformning av kommunen där den formella styrningen brister. Fallstudien konstaterar att de kommunala granskningsorganen spelar en viktig roll för att granska kommunens verksamheter och därmed säkerställa att inga beslut fattas i ett ansvarsmässigt tomrum.

Kvinnor är överrepresenterade gällande depression, medan män är överrepresenterade inom andra problemområden såsom antisociala riskbeteenden, missbruk och suicid. Stigma skapat av maskulina ideal och könsnormer har förts fram som möjlig faktor till könsskillnaderna. Det övergripande syftet med studien var att undersöka sambanden mellan depressiva symtom, depressionsstigma samt maskulinitet. Detta gjordes via en Internetenkät där 396 deltagare (245 kvinnor och 151 män) besvarade frågor som mätte dessa variabler. Studien fann inga könsskillnader gällande depression.

With a new digital world that runs parallel with our physical one, we are also facing a new type of architecture and new materials that this new architecture is built on. In this thesis I examine pixels and vectors, two of the digital materials used to create pictures. By approaching them as digital materials, I have mapped their different qualities, when and where one or the other is more or less applicable and the reason behind it. My main research question asked was the following: Are the (digital) materials challenged outside their primary fields of application, and in that case, in which way? With this question in mind, I carried out a semiotic picture analysis on four pictures, later on dividing them into four different categories, based on their different qualities and their ability to deliver information.

Back in the 1950s Marilyn Monroe and her hourglass shaped body was the aesthetic ideal for how models were to look like. Nowadays, the tide has turned. Research has shown that female models are becoming increasingly taller, narrower and straighter. This trend has occurred despite the fact that both men and women (still) prefer medium sized women with curvy bodies. This essay examines if this trend can be justified from a marketer's perspective.

Syftet med detta arbete är att ge en bild av hur första mötet mellan skolan och en mångkulturell elev ochhans/hennes familj kan se ut i Motala kommun och hur beredskapen är för mottagandet, samt att studera adekvat litteratur i ämnet. Finns det någon skillnad mellan ideal och verklighet?De metoder som använts i arbetet är litteraturstudier och intervjuer.Resultatet av litteraturgenomgången visar, att det är synnerligen viktigt att satsa på det första mötet och att det är ett gyllenetillfälle att med familjen skapa en god och värdefull kontakt för framtiden. Resultatet av intervjuerna pekar på att det första mötet kan se väldigt olika ut, beroende på vilken skola det gäller. För alla skolor gäller dock att det första mötet inte upplevs som något problem, något som framför allt har sin grund i det begränsade antalet nyanlända, mångkulturella elever som kommer till kommunen.

The aim of this paper is to perform a comparative study between France and Sweden analyzing the veil debate that took place in 2003 and 2004. This debate has been one of the central features of the renewed conflict between the West and Islam post 9/11, and has the presumed oppression of the Muslim veil in focus. With help of critical theory and a differentiated citizenship theory, including gender and post-colonial perspectives, I analyse the veil in a Western context in the arguments presented and the actions taken. Through that I try to distinguish the potential problems posed for the Muslim minorities living in the two countries.Three main areas are covered: the different political actions in the two countries, the consequences for this sidestep in liberal citizenship theory and in what way the view on equality splits the two parties. I conclude: that the French secularism and the Swedish equality have played key roles; the ideal of liberal citizenship is being abandoned for a more partial state; and the view of the veil as simply oppressive is part of a colonial heritage that can be challenged..

Det här arbetet består av två delar, en biografisk och en matematisk, innehållsmässigt förekommer det dock viss överlappning. Hela Emmy Noethers liv handlade om matematik, i familjen fanns det matematiker, hennes vänner var matematiker och det är också troligt att hennes tankar och känslor kretsade kring matematiken. I alla fall har hon (så vitt jag vet) inte efterlämnat några dagböcker eller brev som skulle tala för motsatsen. Det blir alltså omgivningens bild av henne som får spegla den biografiska delen av uppsatsen. Den matematiska delen är i sin tur uppdelad i två delar.
