We have the tradition in Sweden to build villas and houses with a wooden framework. It has become natural for us because we have so much forest in our country. Building with wood has advantages, it is easy to process, but also disadvantages, as it is sensitive to moisture.Finland has long made use of the thermal blocks to build villas. It is a type of bricks that are a bit like a sandwich element, with a core of EPS and concrete on both sides of the core material. The concrete is hollow, so that after the walls has been bricked up you pour concrete into the hollow bricks.The issue of this report is to find out if concrete can be an alternative to wood as framework material in villas.

Recent research in classrooms has often had its focus on the pupil, the individual, and not on the different groups of students that exist. In a classroom there are normally several different groupings, each one having its own personal attitude towards the current lesson. If there had been more research we would find it easier to understand why pupils sometimes behave the way they do.The purpose of this essay is to analyze how pupils` social relations create groupings. Furthermore I intend to investigate how and why pupils show their belonging to a certain group.The two questions of the essay are:1. How pupils? social relations appear in a classroom?2.

Sport horses are widely used for performance in jumping, dressage, endurance etc. To enable comparisons of horses, training facilities, programs or physical status, an exercise test can be used. Exercise tests are also important to increase knowledge about exercise physiology of the horse considering different ways of training to compare training methods or individual qualities, development of an individual or other investigations of equine exercise physiology. Since several investigations are done on standard- and thoroughbred horses but less on sport horses, it is of great importance to get an overview of the investigations done. Most common is to investigate heart rate and lactate concentration.

I detta arbete analyseras möjligheter och begränsningar med att implementera SPOC för EAC och få dessa implementationer att kommunicera med varandra. Vikten av denna studie kommer av att SPOC är en central komponent i de system som krävs för att elektroniska resehandlingar inom Europa ska fungera. Arbetet har analyserat specifikationen för SPOC och med bakgrund av denna analys intervjuat personer som arbetar med utveckling av SPOC. Resultatet av dessa steg var en lista över utmaningar med att implementera SPOC som påvisar att specifikationen delvis är otydligt formulerad och inte täcker in alla delar som måste finnas i ett fungerande system. Dessutom genomfördes en analys av en implementation av SPOC som påvisade att det var möjligt att använda elliptiska kurvor för kryptering i SPOC-miljö, vilket målats upp som en svårighet, under specifika förhållanden.

In this paper I study how the repeal of the Swedish wealth tax (1 of January 2007) has affected people´s labour supply behaviour. This particular issue is relevant because it may help us understand some of the effects of the earnings tax changes that have taken place in Sweden. Accoring to standard economic theory a repealed wealth tax is similar to an income effect for the persons who previously paid the tax. That means that they theoretically will want to consume more leisure, that is decrease their labour supply. The method I am using to test this hypothesis is a difference-in-difference approach where the treatment group consists of persons who previously paid the tax and the control group of comparable persons who did not pay the tax.

Diabetes type 2 is a fast growing illness and a global health problem, often a result from less appropriate standard of living. Lifestyle changes related to diet and physical activity are important lifestyle changes regarding to get control of the self-management and to avoid vascular complications.AimThe aim of this study was to describe patient's experiences of lifestyle changes in diabetes type 2.MethodA literature study was carried through based on 12 qualitative scientific articles.ResultsThe analysis result into two main themes and eight subthemes. Main themes where barriers and motivators for lifestyle changes and the subthemes where struggle, denial, lack of knowledge, alienation, support, motivation, acceptance and knowledge.ConclusionThis study shows that lifestyle changes are experienced different by patient with diabetes and nurses should therefore be aware of the unique and specific demands these patients require. This is important for providing a good diabetic healthcare and to help patients with their self-management.

This Bachelor thesis examines the possibility of replacing an outdated, analog video recording system to a digital counterpart. It is key that the video and audio signals remain synchronized, generator locked and time stamped. It is up to nine different video sources and a number of audio sources to be recorded and treated in such a manner which enables synchronized playback. The  different video sources do not always follow a universal standard, and differ from format as well as resolution. This thesis aims to compare a number of state of the art commercial of the shelf solutions with proprietary hardware.

Och hur ska denna information presenteras i årsredovisningen för att ge en så rättvisande bild som möjligt.Syfte:Uppsatsens syfte är att belysa de problem som finns när bostadsrättsföreningar ska bestämma hur mycket pengar som ska sparas för det framtida underhållet, problemen vid val av avskrivningsmetod för att spara dessa medel och hur årsredovisningen ska ge en rättvisande bild av föreningens underhållsplanering.Metod:En kombinerad litteraturstudie med kvalitativa intervjuer om periodisering i bostadsrättsföreningar.Slutsatser:Bostadsrättsföreningar använder idag flertalet olika metoder för att spara medel till framtida underhållsåtgärder. Som lekman tex en bostadsrättsköpare är det svåröverskådligt att jämföra föreningarnas underhållsambition pga de olika metoderna. Önskvärt vore att branschorganisationer tillsammans med statliga myndigheter tar fram en standard för redovisning av underhållskostnader i bostadsrättsföreningar..

I have used a discourse analysis as a method and queertheori for the theoretical. In this paper I have analyzed how different wedding magazines write about partnerships, gender-neutral marriage and wedding between homosexuals. I have for some time been interested in the beliefs wedding magazines have about homosexuality and how newspapers maintain heteronormativity implicitly and explicitly. Bridal magazines are anxious to have the marriage as a design and standard when they write about partnership. When they write about the two different forms of marriage, they glorify the religious marriage and pay no attention to civil marriage.

The product purchaser of this project, Joakim Victorin at Sigma AB, has a keen interest in cycling, which resulted in a fairly obvious topic of this project; through a web application Sigma AB wanted to make it possible to handle results from professional as well as amateur competitions in cycling.The purpose of this web application is to simplify reporting and handling of competition for both small and bigger bicycle races. By providing the users of the system a platform independent client, any available device may be used.This thesis has followed the development principles which prevail on the ASP .NET MVC 3 concept. When developing the system the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 development environment was used. The framework and the pattern of ASP .NET MVC 3 is a prominent part of today?s web development.

Behovet att mäta kvalitet hos olika produkter ledde till framställningen av ett antal mätningsmetoder. Redan vid olika stadier av tillverkning kan man avgöra om produkten motsvarar en viss förutbestämd standard. Den här rapporten kommer att undersöka vilka eventuella problem mätning av kvalitet med laser har i industrimiljö. En konceptuell modell över hur mätning av dornprofiler kan genomföras kommer att presenteras med fokus på att väga tidsåtgång mot exakthet för att skapa en balans som är acceptabel för företagets krav. En beslutsfattande algoritm kommer även att presenteras där ett avgörande ska ske om mätresultaten är rimliga eller beror på fel i mätutrustningen.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of joint venture announcements on stock prices behavior and simultaneously to test the German stock market (Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse) for efficiency. We tried not only to analyze the general impacts of a JV-announcement but also to look for differences in the market response to announcements of different types of joint ventures, namely: domestic, international, horizontal and vertical. Our expectations of efficient market were confirmed during our paper, which employed the technique of the standard event study. The calculation of abnormal returns which are the signals for market efficiency or inefficiency respectively were based on the market model, establishing linear relationship between the return on the market and the return on an individual security. The scope of this master´s thesis is the issue of usability in relation to interface design,in particular the interface of a university library´s online public accessed catalogue, orOPAC. Since the OPAC can be seen as the library´s ?shop window? to the world, it isof great importance that the interface to the OPAC can be used by patrons witheffectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.The master´s thesis is based on a qualitative study performed at Karolinska InstitutetsUniversity library, and contains both a usability evaluation and an interview study. Twointerfaces were evaluated: a standard web interface provided by the system supplier, andan interface developed in-house by Karolinska Institutet´s systems department. The twointerfaces are both connected to the same online library catalogue, thus making possiblea comparative study..

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify and define the value of rating. Execution: The study is built upon nine interviews with rated and non-rated firms and investors.

Vid upphandling inom offentlig sektor eller större företag kan användandet av standarder vara ett viktigt redskap för att säkerställa att en produkt eller tjänst uppfyller de krav som verksamheten ställer när det gäller exempelvis kvalitet, kostnader och effekter på miljön. Stigande priser på energi och en ökad insikt om samhällets negativa inverkan på miljön gör att energieffektiviseringar blivit ett viktigt inslag i de allra flesta verksamheter och här kan användandet av standarder spela en viktig roll.Syftet med det här examensarbetet är att utreda hur isolering av varma och kalla rör samt ventilationskanaler kan dimensioneras optimalt så att energiförluster från dessa minimeras. Hur olika faktorer och förutsättningar påverkar vad som är en optimerad isolering måste därmed även att utredas så att konsekvenser av olika val kan kartläggas.Målet är att ta fram ett underlag som kan fungera som hjälpmedel då en ny standard för dimensionering av teknisk isolering skall tas fram av Landstingsfastigheter i Värmland. Underlaget kommer att utgöras av en beräkningsmodell som skall kunna ge tillförlitliga uppgifter om hur olika yttre faktorer samt val av isoleringsmaterial dels kan påverka vilken den nödvändiga isoleringstjockleken blir och dels visa de ekonomiska konsekvenserna. En livscykelkostnadsanalys gjordes därför för olika dimensioneringsalternativ.Arbetet resulterade i en beräkningsmodell som kan användas för att beräkna olika isoleringstjocklekar för olika typer av fall.
