The theoretical background in this essay made clear that the students? knowledge about physics improve, and they express a more positive attitude towards physics as a subject, when they have access to a more laboratory-based learning style. The aim of this study is to research how the placement of the lab relative to the lecture affects the students? experiences and level of knowledge. The study involved students in year eight and was carried out during four weeks.

The purpose of this thesis is to increase the knowledge about the comprehensibility of the easy-to-read civic information. In the study I present my analysis of the content of four easy-to-read texts from four government authorities. The analysis constitutes the starting point for interviews with the target group ? people with a minor mental retardation ?, but it also reveals some possible difficulties for the intended readers. In the empirical study ten persons from the target group were asked to read a text and the comprehension was tested by oral questions about facts in the text.

The aim of this paper is to investigate to what degree the groups in our inquiry work independently. It is a qualitative research, which points to a well?functioning unit, that by definition is not self-governing, but has many traits of self- government. We have reached to the conclusion, that complete self?government does not have to be the best solution, if you want both quality and efficiency.

Our thesis focus on how retirees perceive Tv4s news casts of economy news where we focused on five different aspects: What is the relationship between the news cast and the viewer and how does the viewer express their understanding of the news cast and the way it is constructed? What are the viewers attitude towards the news content and how do they find the news cast useful for them personally?We choosed retirees as our target group due to their vulnerable economic position in today?s society and TV as an important medium for them due to the digital divide. The study was performed with twelve qualitative interviews and one group interview where six retirees took part.We discovered a big interest for economic news in the target group. The majority had a sympathetic view of the news cast they saw but they also expressed skepticism toward the economy segment and/or news castings. The majority expressed a lack of trust for the journalists and the experts brought in to share observations and make announcements, and the financial business overall.

In the beginning of the 21th century several successful companies filed for bankruptcy. These bankruptcies have been known as large accounting scandals and the largest scandals did Enron and Worldcom stand for. These bankruptcies arose without any warning signal from the auditors about the companies? financial problems and their inability to continue as a going concern. The bankruptcies damaged the reputation of auditors and broad criticism has developed at the auditors? inability to discover companies? financial problems and their unwillingness to reveal a going concern opinion in the audit report.

Bakgrund/Problemområde: Efter införandet av IAS-förordningen år 2005 skall noteradeföretag upprätta sin koncernredovisning i enlighet med IFRS. Dessa regler innebär att flertalettillgångar nu skall värderas till verkligt värde mot tidigare historiska anskaffningsvärden. Enav dessa tillgångar är goodwill som nu istället för årliga avskrivningar, varje år skall prövasom det föreligger ett nedskrivningsbehov. Med en värdering till verkligt värde följer ävenvissa bedömningssvårigheter som under en lågkonjunktur kan vara otillförlitliga. Därför är detviktigt att se till att företagsledningens uppskattningar i budgetar och prognoser återspeglarrimliga och godtagbara antaganden och utgör en tillförlitlig uppskattning av framtidaekonomiska förhållanden inom företagen.

This thesis aims to study brand change, which can be of interest since a brand during its lifetime can be expected to meet a lifecycle consisting of five phases; innovation, introduction, growth, maturity and recession. In order to avoid the recession phase and the sales decline that follows there is a need for a change of the brand.In order to study brand change, theoretical framework is compared to two real world cases that have gone through an active change.The conceptions of positioning, repositioning and revitalization are clarified. Positioning deals with how brands are located in customer?s minds as well as on the real market. Repositioning implies a change of the current position and is also often a move towards a new market segment.

Companies today are facing more and different kinds of demands from the society and their stakeholders. It is no longer enough to just deliver the products, and not just the quality of the products that matter. The consumers are getting more conscious about the many ways in which companies affect the society and the environment in which we live. The financial sector, that among others includes stakeholders such as insurance companies, banks and fund companies are starting to realise the importance of the non- financial issues that companies are encountering. Analysing the companies sustainability when it comes to social and environmental issues, has become an increasingly important factor when for example choosing companies to invest in.

This study aims at using discourse analysis to analyze SFI students attitudes to religion and religiosity in an SFI-context. The questions are: How is the discourse constructed and maintained by religion and religiosity of SFI students in an SFI context? How do SFI participants experience that their religion has affected their time at SFI?Using a case study approach, interviews were conducted with a group of SFI students. The results show that the religious discourse in SFI is influenced by the SFI-context and affected based on the current education discourse that exists there. Furthermore, the discourse is designed and maintained by the participants private religious beliefs and the religion of the majority of the group, One canhere speak of a strong social unit forming a plausibility structure The power structure that emerges is that the majority has the power to define the significance of religion and place within the SFI context. In the SFI-context the participants view is that religion is something private that should not be expressed in the school environment.

För fastighetsbolag på Stockholmsbörsen har införandet av de nya redovisningsrekommendationerna IAS/IFRS inneburit en del förändringar. Fastigheter ska nu redovisas antingen enligt IAS 2, IAS 16 eller IAS 40 och införandet ska öka jämförbarheten mellan bolagen.Syftet med denna uppsats är att se hur de nya rekommendationerna påverkar kapitalstrukturen i fastighetsbolagen genom att undersöka hur relevanta nyckeltal förändrats och vilka konsekvenser det får för bolagen i 2004 års redovisning.Undersökningen omfattar samtliga bolag som är aktuella. Dessa är Brinova, Castellum, FastPartner, Heba, Hufvudstaden, LjungbergGruppen, Klövern, Kungsleden, Wallenstam och Wihlborgs. Via bolagens årsredovisningar har relevanta nyckeltal räknats ut och granskats. Nyckeltalen som vi har granskat är bokfört värde på fastigheter, eget kapital, räntabilitet på eget kapital, räntabilitet på sysselsatt kapital, soliditet, skuldsättningsgrad och vinst per aktie.Undersökningen visar att alla bolagen efter införandet av IAS/IFRS redovisar sina fastigheter som förvaltningsfastigheter till verkligt värde enligt IAS 40.

The Civil Engineering office in Skellefteå needs to develop the users' participation in the planning of parks and playgrounds. In order to get such a procedure to work one have to find a method that can work in the daily activity. My work aims to find such a method and to implement it in practice. Apart from helping the Parks departement to find an functional method I will also develop a deepened knowledge about users?participation wich can be very useful i my future profession. This work can be divided in three stages.

With increasing demands from the society regarding company?s CSR - Corporate social responsibility, the perspective of accounting gets broader and covers even non-financial information to meet not only the owners? demands but also others stakeholders' requirements. Sustainability has become an important tool for creating company?s business value and a positive sustainable external image.

This report is about an investigation which has been done as an assignment in aninternational company. An Intranet has been implemented in parts of this company, andprimarily there is a local group of people in the company which is responsible for thelocal Intranet as an informationsystem. The method used in this study is qualitative contentanalysis.
