The purpose of this study is to explore the relations between foster parents and their foster children, what kind of motivation there is behind their involvement in foster children, how they experience the commission and what good parenting mean to them. The study is including eight foster parents. They have experience of both long and short placement of foster children. The results show that all these foster families have at least one child that they have a good relationship with. It is important to know that those children either have spent many years in foster families or arrived to foster families when they were very young or as infants.

The aim of the study was to investigate if methane emission in a constructed wetland changed in a diurnal pattern correlating to temperature, humidity or light conditions. The gas measurements were carried out with a static chamber technique. The wetland (in Nykvarn outside of Linköping, Sweden) takes care of wastewater to reduce the nitrogen loads. Measurements were carried out at three different occasions in the summer of 1998 on two sites in the wetland. One site was close to the inflow, inhabited by Lemnaceae, and another site was located further downstream inhabited by the emergent macrophyte Typha latifolia.

En kraftig expansion inom Perstorp Components de senaste åren, har inneburit att användningen av emballage ökat och därmed också emballagekostnaderna. Målsättningen med föreliggande studie har varit att undersöka om det är möjligt att reduceraemballagekostnaderna genom att införa internemballage.Arbetet delades in i tre faser. Den första var en identifikationsfas där dagens flöden skulle kartläggas. Därefter analyserades flödena och slutligen jämfördes olika emballagealternativ för att utröna vilka alternativ som var mest fördelaktiga.Det vanligast förekommande emballaget i dag kommer från Volvo Transport, som hyr ut emballage. Utöver emballage från Volvo Transport används pallar av olika slag, på vilka vanligtvis lådor av wellpapp placeras.Samtliga flöden som är större än 450 m3 per år, samt mindre flöden som kan inkluderas i de större, analyserades för att undersöka möjligheterna till reduktion av kostnaderna genom införande av internemballage.

AbstractThe purpose of this investigation was to understand how teachers/pedagogues nowadays work with mathematics in school. In what way can they pin point the difficulties a pupil with another language might have with mathematics.I started the process of this investigation by reading litterature on the subject. Then I did interviews with several teachers and pedagogues teaching in different schools with children at different ages.The results found in my investegation pointed to a lack of practical work with mathematics especially in classroom and revealed from the teachers a strong desire to work with mathematics in different ways.?Talking maths? with pupils in class will help them understand the subject better. Several teachers are of the opinion that the pupils will reach the goals in school with this method.The teachers are also aware of the importance of having practical mathematics.

Vid storskalig slakt utsätts nötkreatur för många stressande faktorer, såsom transport, nya miljöer och gruppkonstellationer samt hårdhänt hantering. Stressen utgör ett hot mot djurens välfärd och är en viktig orsak till ekonomiska förluster för slakteriet i form av DFD-kött och kassationer. Alternativa metoder till slakthusen såsom mobil slakt arbetas fram, men är idag inte tillräckligt lönsamma för att klara av konsumenternas krav på stora mängder kött till lågt pris. Denna pressade ekonomiska situation gör det även svårt för slakterierna att göra miljön bättre anpassad för djuren. Därför är det av intresse att undersöka möjligheterna att erhålla lugna djur som är mindre påverkade av slaktsituationen.

Vid större olyckor och kriser kan Försvarsmaktens helikoptrar nyttjas för bland annat sjukvårds-, transport-,släck-, flygräddnings- och sjöräddningsuppdrag. Sedan 2010 är Rakel det kommunikationssystem som används av de så kallade blåljusorganisationerna (Polis, Räddningstjänst, Ambulans, etc) samt vid krisledning i Sverige. I och med införandet av Rakel tappade Försvarsmaktens helikoptrar förmågan att kunna kommunicera och samverka effektivt vid olyckor och kriser med blåljusorganisationerna. Rakel är operativt i Försvarsmakten och Helikopterflottiljen men systemet finns inte att tillgå i helikoptrarna där behovet är störst.Målet med detta examensarbete var att ta fram ett tekniskt och taktiskt underlag för att undersöka om det är möjligt att installera Rakelsystemet i Försvarsmaktens helikoptrar och undersöka behovsbilden av Rakel vid insatser av civil karaktär..

Abstract Road cycling is well established and has always been described as a highly endurance sport. To be able to compete in such a demanding sport the physiology of the athletes needs to be greatly developed. This review will focus on high intensity interval training and its impact on the physiological characteristics of competitive road cyclists. The main difference between different levels of competitive road cyclists seems to be the capacity to maintain a high sub maximal power output over a long period of time in order to succeed. High intensity interval training, from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, leads to improved VO2peak, aerobic peak power and time trial performance.

With examples from a single classroom situation, several educational moments show what goes on between the teacher and the student. The teacher?s responsibility in the learning process is, with a gesture frozen in the air of the moment, to lead and follow the student in her tentative efforts at seeking knowledge. Initially, it is an attempt to shed light upon the "not yet seen" with a certainty that the student herself possesses the capacity and the aptitude to reach greater insight and clarity in her understanding. The aim of this thesis is to investigate which the main determinants of capital structure in Swedish listed firms are and to identify which incentives lies behind managers choice of capital structure determinants. Further, the study investigates whether the Post Keynesian theory and theories which incorporate behavioral aspects can be used to explain the capital structure decisions or if the traditional Neoclassical theory give an better explanation. We have used a qualitative method to analyze the determinants of capital structure and the managers incentives behind capital structure decision. We conducted a survey which was sent to 83 Chief Financial Managers and financial executives in Swedish firms listed on Mid Cap or Large Cap. The questionnaire was on-line which enabled for the respondents to quickly and convenient respond.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate if the reading habits of teacher students are influenced by merit and descent. The empiric material consists of six questionnaires answered by students at the teacher training with Swedish at the upper secondary school as their first topic. The questionnaire comprised questions about reading habits in the childhood and today and information concerning merits and descent.Pierre Bourdieu?s sociological ideas about cultural capital transmitted from parent to child and the concept of habitus are used as a theoretical framework regarding descent.

Because of the increasing trends in energy consumption and increased environmental awareness, greater focus has been placed on improvement and development of renewable energy sources. An already proven and accepted method is biogas production from anaerobic digestion at municipal wastewater treatment plants.In the waste water treatment process solid material and dissolved pollutants are separated from the water, forming a sludge. The sludge is separated from the process and stabilized during anaerobic digestion or aerobic aeration. Most often, mesophilic anaerobic digestion is used. Because of degradation by microorganisms, biogas with a high content of methane is formed during the digestion.

I have chosen to work with drag hose system and try to find an alternative to spread manure with a usually tank system, see if you can make a profit and what advantage and disadvantage the system has. The purpose whith the project has been to try to make a system that can spread manure at better occasions than farmers do today and above everything make a financial addition. Today it is just a heavy work and takes a lot of time. I have counted on investment costs and carefully examined what equipment you need. I have not the technical details in my project, I have just tried to understand how it is to spread manure with drag hose system today. What is drag hose system? You put a hose in your manuretank, connect it to a pump that is driven by a traktor or stationary engine. You place a hose that reach the field were you are going to spread.

The study was conducted with an landscape approach with an subject related approach in the field of environmental psychology to investigate how road design affects drivers' choice of speed. The purpose was to portray road environments on thoroughfares in urban areas to motivate motorists to keep the speed limit and thus increase road safety for vulnerable road users. The task question was formulated, how can thoroughfares in suburban settings be portrayed to motivate motorists to reduce speed? The study was conducted throughout a literature review of motivational speed measures along with interviews with road design experts at the Swedish Transport Administration. Case studies were conducted on three thoroughfares in the Stockholm suburbs Vallentuna, Upplands Väsby and Danderyd.
