Främmande trädslag har i modern tid intresserat skogsbruket i sin jakt på ökad produktion, minskad känslighet för skador, förbättrad anpassning med mera. Ett tidigare oprövat trädslag var banksianatallen (Pinus banksiana, Lamb.), en nordlig, välspridd, pionjär från Kanadas inland med en utpräglad etableringsstrategi för torra, nybrända sandjordar. Studiens övergripande syfte var att utvärdera utfallet från 22 år gamla försök av banksianatall och analysera banksianatallens odlingsvärde i norra Sverige genom att på fem lokaler jämföra överlevnad, tillväxt och skador med tall (Pinus sylvestris L.), contortatall (Pinus contorta var. latifolia Engelmann) och Hybriden mellan contortatall och banksianatall. Ett ytterligare syfte var att utreda eventuella effekter av odlingslokalens temperatursumma och trädens latitudförflyttning från ursprungslatituden. I metoden har fältförsök använts där varje enskilt träd mätts och bedömts. Materialet var insamlat i naturbestånd i nordvästra Kanada från 12 provenienser med en latitudinell spridning av cirka fem breddgrader.

This thesis presents a system which has been implemented to satisfy a need in theresearch on how speech planning interacts with syntactic and prosodic structure inspontaneous speech. The long-term purpose of the research is to provide models forautomatic parsing of spontaneous speech and for psycholinguistical modelling of speechproduction. Identification of inhalation pauses is an important step in the developmentof automatic methods for spontaneous speech parsing.Identification of inhalation pauses is considered to be a keyword-spotting speechrecognition problem. Hybrid HMM(Hidden Markov Models)/ANN(Artificial NeuralNetworks) approach is applied to this problem. Method gets 90,8% in Recall, 66,4% inPrecision and 76,7% in F-score.

In modern industrial robots the components in the transmission contain nonlinearities. These nonlinearities need to be to estimated either for better control or to use the parameters for diagnosis of the system. There is a lot of work done within system identification and mainly within the field of iterative parameter estimation.This thesis considers recursive grey-box identification for a nonlinear model of the transmission in an industrial robot. The nonlinearities that are identified are friction, spring stiffnes, hysteresis and backlash. These nonlinearities are a part of the models that are presented in this thesis.

Sara Lidman?s second novel Hjortronlandet (1955) unfolds in the north of Sweden in the early 20th century. It describes the progress of modernity and the conflicting interests of an old local culture and a new more ?civilised? one. The two cultures are constituted by different value systems and in the novel they are represented by two neighbour communities.

The principal questions that are high lightened in this study are: How is the discrimination of the Indigenous people in Latin-America represented in the works of Jose María Arguedas and Miguel Angel Asturias? How are these two authors interrelated in terms of the defense of a cultural belonging? And finally, can these be associated to Paulo Coelho?s narrative content and techniques?This work shows how, as Nelson Gonzalez-Ortega names it, a narrative discourse of resistance (based on the consequences of the cultural merging of the European and Latin-American people) is expressed and transformed into modern literature. It shows how the works of these authors protect and transmit the interests and the cultural origins of the Latin-American Indigenous people. These origins are expressed by language, myths, storytelling techniques and the presentation of an alternative perspective of the world. It also shows, through analysis of their writing, how some of these authors as dual cultural human beings struggled to balance the two cultural elements they are constituted of.Focus will be on Asturias Hombrez de Maiz, Arguedas Los ríos profundos and Coelhos 11 minutos and El Zahir..

The Common Agricultural Policy the European union´s common agreement about the agriculture financial support. A major change is about to take place in the next 3 years. This reform affects the first 15 members as well as the 10 new members in CAP2. This study contains a future of how agriculture will look like in Sweden in 10 years. The study is mainly based on interviews with key-persons3 in Sweden. The first part describes the CAP-reform in theory, the second part the interviews and the last is a conclusion of the material. The future will see larger farm units.

In January 2005 large forest areas in south Sweden were severely damaged by storm. This final thesis describes the work with creating an ecological and landscape-adapted regeneration plan for a severely storm damaged property in Kronobergs region in south Sweden. This regeneration plan, in difference to more regular plans, are focusing more on the owner?s use and goal?s for the property and seeing the property from a more comprehensive view in the regeneration process. Beside production and environmental values the plan also take in consideration other values as aesthetic, culture history, landscape picture and recreation values.

The aim of this study has been to analyze how society is constructed in the workbook Möte med människor från andra kulturer, a popular material within the ?cultural competency? industry. The analysis has largely been carried out from the perspective of a pedagogy against oppression as it has been outlined by Kevin Kumashiro. I have found that the material combines discursive movements, which in complex and Hybrid ways deconstruct, decenter, recenter and reproduce stereotypes and norms, through its normative language and pedagogy. A language constructing culture as cleanly demarcated, static and homogenous.

Large companies in today?s business environment are to a great extent depending on their credit score by rating institutes like Moody?s and Standard & Poor?s. There is however indications that these big institutes are not always rating companies accurately. This is why this thesis aims at developing a new credit rating model, CRITA-Score, with the objective of determining a company?s financial health more accurately.

This study concerns ways in which Muslims in Sweden construct their identities. The theoretical approach of the study is based on the assumption that people construct their identities through narratives. Circumstances such as time, place, and relationships affect how narratives are told and therefore how we perceive ourselves and the world around us.In the wake of 11th of September 2001, the old colonial narrative of ?the West vs. the East? has become powerful, and makes many question the possibility of successfully integrating Muslims immigrants in Western countries.

Den här uppsatsen är en studie om hur politiker ser på bloggen som ett politiskt verktyg. I dagens samhälle har tekniken öppnat upp för nya kommunikationskanaler och internet har blivit en plattform för interaktion. Bloggen har skapat nya möjligheter för politikern att sprida budskap till medborgarna och medierna eftersom den ger politikern kontroll över det egna ordet. Syftet är att undersöka på vilket sätt politiker i Kungsbacka kommun på lokal-, regional- och riksnivåanvänder sig av bloggar, och hur de ser på bloggen som verktyg för att sprida budskap, skapa opinion och ha kontroll över ordet. Studiens frågeställningar är: Hur ser innehållet på bloggarna ut, vad är politikerns syfte med bloggen, och hur ser interaktionen med medborgarna ut på bloggarna.

Detta examensarbete behandlar rumsakustik som en viktig del i skapandet av en arkitektur för framförande av musik, samt upplevelsen av ljud. Projektet bygger på en idé att skapa nya möjligheter att skapa och framföra musik för musiker, vars arbete ofta begränsas av lokalbrist eller av olika föreningars intresseområden. Idén har utvecklats till en Hybrid mellan ett nytt musikmuseum och ?Musikplatsen? - en plats för skapande och framförande av musik med liten publik. Musikplatsen blir en del av det nya musikmuseets program för att skapa nya samarbeten och ekonomisk hållbarhet.

The use of Power Line Communication, PLC, as a communication solution for Automated Meter Reading, AMR, is popular by utilities in Sweden and other parts of the world due to demands of accurate and fast meter reading. However the use of the electrical grid as a communication medium is complex and sometimes problematic. This report handles some of the issues and problems that are important to understand when using the grid as a communications medium. Focus is mainly on investigating high frequency distortion in the Kristianstad power grid own by C4energi caused by a frequency converter. Measurements on site are done to investigate signal damping in the grid, different configurations for the frequency converter and signal strength of the PLC-system.

Föreliggande studies syfte är att utifrån ett diskursanalytiskt perspektiv undersöka hur företagande kvinnor, som själva beskriver sig som framgångsrika, konstruerar identitet. Detta sker med en kombination av analytiska verktyg från narrativ metod, kategoriseringsanalys och diskursiv psykologi vilka appliceras på data i form av företagande kvinnors blogginlägg. Resultatet visar att respondenterna tenderar att berätta om sig själva genom tre generella berättelser: berättelsen om företagsamheten, berättelsen om familjen och självbekännelseberättelsen och där gör de framför allt tre kategorier relevanta för den egna identiteten: den framgångsrika företagerskan, den goda modern och den moderna kvinnan. Berättelser och kategorier kan mötas och understödja varandra men framför allt kan de också konkurrera med varandra. Den spänning som skapas när berättelserna krockar och när de diskursiva stereotyper som styr kategorierna inte samstämmer kräver en retorisk finkänslighet och ett skickligt balanserande.

Sveriges samlade skogsindustriföretag förutspår en förlust av marknadsandelar, eftersom man inte lyckas hålla samma tempo på produktionen som många andra länder. En orsak till detta är att skogsmaskinerna är för långsamma. Skotarna, vars uppgift är att förflytta virket från avverkningsplatsen till en uppsamlingsplats, bär en stor del av skulden. De hinner inte transportera virket tillräckligt snabbt. För att råda bot på detta ska en ny typ av skotare utvecklas, vars plattform inspireras av försvarsteknologi.
