Emission of nitrogen oxides as well as carbon monoxides is an inevitable result of combustion. A Swedish law "Law of environmental fee for emissions of nitrogen oxides as a result of energy production" (lagen om miljöavgift pÄ utslÀpp av kvÀveoxider vid energiproduktion (SFS 1990:613)) controls the emission of NOx from energy production by a system of fees. The system has resulted in a strong approach toward less emissions of NOx among the energy production plants. High emission levels, today exceeding 52 mg/MJsupplied fuel, leads to costs for energy production companies. This paper examines possibilities to reduce the emissions of NOx by optimization of the SNCR-technique in a biofuel fired heat and power plant.

In the future network-based Swedish Defence (NBD), attaining information superiority will be of great importance. This will be achieved by a network of networks where decision-makers, information- and weapon-systems are linked together. As a part of the development of NBD, we have performed a study of user interface design for a future network-based tool package for analysis of sensor systems, referred to as the C2SR-system. This thesis was performed at Ericsson Microwave Systems AB, Sensor and Information Networks, during the autumn 2002. A pre-study concerning the requirements of usability, trustworthiness and functionality of a user interface for the C2SR-system was performed.

Distributed system development is a common occurrence in today?s technological and global world. Because the consequences of its geographically distributed nature it creates barriers between people that affects their communication and collaboration efforts in the distributed context. Despite a lot of technological breakthroughs over the last decades and the occurrence of video-conference applications and other tools for communication and collaboration, cultural and geographical issues have so far not yet been completely resolved. In this study I have made a literature study over distributed system development to form a set of central factors that affects the distributed development process.

The National Property Board (SFV) has been appointed by the Swedish government to administer all property of cultural value owned by the Swedes collectively. The commission includes maintaining the soul and character of each individual building, to adapt these buildings to present needs and requirements, and furthermore making them available to the public. The return on equity demanded by the government is based on the CAPM used within the real estate industry. The theoretical assumption that organizations are either function-driven or pay-driven will serve as a starting point, after which SFV will be defined as a function-driven organization with a pay-formed management control system. This paper aims to examine how applying a pay-formed management control system will affect a function-driven organization.

AbstractIn the fall of 2003 a project was started in the Swedish building sector that is called BASTA (the building sectors’ termination of especially harmful substances). The project is operated by the building companies NCC, Skanska, PEAB and JM, the Swedish Building Industry and the Swedish Environmental Institute IVL. The purpose of the project is to create a common environmental assessment system for the entire building industry and with the help of this system phase out the use of especially harmful properties from building products.In a large sense BASTA works like this; On the BASTA web site there is a database, to which a supplier can register the company and the company’s products. Only those products with a substance content that fulfil the demands of the BASTA system, is to be registered. As it is the supplier himself that carries out the registration of the company and the company’s products to the system, the BASTA-organisation annually controls that the companies that are registered in the database, fulfils BASTA’s demands.Since NCC is one of the companies that operates BASTA, BASTA is probably going to be the environmental assessment system that is recommended for the company in the future.

Today digital guides are most frequently used by the museum and tourism industries. They are also used for education purposes. They make it possible to distribute information and have it easily accessible. In addition to written information they add sound, pictures and videos which lift the whole impression of the visited place to a higher level. A variety of systems currently in use today have been evaluated.

Agriculture has to be performed in a sustainable way in order to sustain high yields and to support a globally growing population. Functional soil properties are fundamental for high yields and in order to achieve good soil conditions sustainable management is a key. Loss of soil organic material and increased soil acidity are problems associated with degradation of soils and hence less sustainable agriculture. In this thesis, the effect of different agricultural systems on soil organic matter, pH and yield was examined. The systems examined are a cereal system with straw removal or returning and a ley system, all with different nitrogen levels.

Tanken med ett beslutsstödjande systemet Àr att det skall vara ett hjÀlpmedel för beslutsfattaren och utöka dennes beslutsförmÄga men inte ersÀtta hans eller hennes omdöme.

Lansen Technology develops and sells alarm systems. The communication between the system devices are wireless. The radio protocol used by the system is developed by Lansen with the purpose to be energy efficient. The alarm systems target groups are individuals, businesses and government agencies. The current system is installed, configured and controlled from a control panel for all audiences.

Blast furnace is the heart of every steel plant. Steel production is based on the blast furnace process, as it is where the iron is extracted from the iron ore and turned into liquid iron, which will subsequently be used to make liquid steel. Therefore, without hot iron, steel can not be produced. Blast furnaces in this process are supplied among others with pulverized coal. Raw coal should be prepared for the blast furnaces in the form of fine coal powder.

Den tekniska utvecklingen driver fram allt mer avancerade datorsystem. Samtidigt stÀlls allt större krav pÄ stabilitet och flexibilitet i de operativsystem som ska anvÀndas pÄ dessa system. De senaste Ärtiondena har micro kernel arkitekturen varit föremÄl för intensiv forskning och det finns idag ett flertal operativsystem pÄ marknaden som anvÀnder denna arkitektur. Traditionella monolitiska operativsystem Àr relativt resurskrÀvande system som ofta anklagats för att sakna struktur. Micro kernel baserade system Àr en lösning pÄ detta problem dÀr man bantat ner kernel till sÄ lite som ett tiotal kilobyte och flyttar ut tjÀnster som normalt ligger i kernel till user space.

I denna rapport studeras intermodala transportsystem i Sverige. Projektet Àruppbyggt i tre huvuddelar. Först en inledande del med allmÀn beskrivning av logistikoch dess koppling till transporter. DÀrefter en beskrivande del av intermodala system,deras uppbyggnad och olika ingÄende transportsÀtt. Den avslutande delen Àr enfallstudie gjort i Göteborgs hamn för att studera hamnens logistiklösning.

Idag har de flesta företag och organisationer nÄgon form för intranÀt-lösning. Dessa lösningar kan vara bÄde mer och mindre sofistikerade, men har oftast det samma syfte; att distribuera organisationens information till dess medlemmar.Denna uppsats Àgnar sig Ät intranÀt och fördjupar sig i ett begrepp som vuxit starkt de senaste Ären, nÀmligen Content Management System (CMS). Jag fokuserar sÀrskilt pÄ val av Open Source CMS, för implementation i mindre organisationers intranÀt.Uppsatsen Àr ett resultat av omfattande litteraturstudier inom sitt omrÄde och bygger frÀmst pÄ vetenskapliga artiklar av ledande experter. Ytterligare en kÀlla Àr resultatet av en enkÀtundersökning, som ocksÄ redovisas i uppsatsen. Denna enkÀt hade som ÀndamÄl, att kartlÀgga anvÀndares attityder till deras CMS-intranÀt.Uppsatsens kanske viktigaste resultat Àr en redogörelse för hur ett moduliserad CMS-intranÀt skulle kunna utformas, baserad pÄ bl.a.

Gymnasiereformen GY11 (SFS 2010:2039) innebar flera förÀndringar för den nationella gymnasieskolan. Ett program som förÀndrades i karaktÀr och omfattning var teknikprogrammet, ett program nu har en pedagogisk utmaning för befintliga och blivande tekniklÀrare att frÀmst utbilda morgondagens tekniker och ingenjörer - inom kort vÀntas 18 000 ingenjörer behövas i Sverige. Betraktar man examensmÄlen för teknikprogrammet kan framför allt fyra av de flera ingÄende aspekter sammanfattas till följande utifrÄn examensmÄlens egen formulering; "Utbildningen ska dÀrför utveckla elevernas förmÄga att analysera och förstÄ tekniska system?.Med det i Ätanke sÄ lyfter modern forskning fram att det teknikdidaktiska hantverk som ska förmedlas ut i klassrummen gÀllande diskussioner om system krÀver att den undervisande lÀraren har vÀl förtrogna kunskaper om tekniska system. Som sÄdant Àr det den enskilde lÀraren som med sin Àmnesdidaktiska insikt kan avgöra vilka aspekter av tekniska system som Àr av relevans att förmedla, och vart fokus ska vara i undervisningen.Det övergripande syftet med denna studie Àr att bidra till den kontinuerliga teknikdidaktiska forskningen kring studien av socio-tekniska systemuppfattningar.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur djur, med fokus pÄ hundar, anvÀnds som hjÀlpmedel i behandlingsarbete samt vilka effekter anvÀndningen av hundar anses ha. Vi fördjupade oss i de metoder som finns med djur som hjÀlpmedel samt studerade ett exempel pÄ ett behandlingshem dÀr hundar anvÀnds i vÄrd- och terapisyfte. Genom en litteraturstudie och en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning har vi fÄtt svar pÄ följande frÄgestÀllningar: Hur kan hundar anvÀndas som hjÀlpmedel i behandlingsarbete och vilka arbetsmetoder finns? Vilka fysiska och psykiska effekter kan anvÀndningen av hundar som ett hjÀlpmedel i vÄrd- och terapisyfte ha? Vad gör en hund till en bra vÄrd- och terapihund? Hur anvÀnds hundar pÄ en missbruksinstitution för Àldre mÀn? Resultatet pekar pÄ att hundar kan anvÀndas i vÄrd- och terapisyfte genom anvÀndning av de metoder som finns, det vill sÀga Animal-Assisted Activity, Animal-Assisted Therapy samt Animal-Assisted Therapy in Counseling. Vad som gör en hund till en bra vÄrd- och terapihund Àr att den trÀnas pÄ adekvat sÀtt, har ett bra temperament samt har en hundförare som ser till klientens och hundens bÀsta.
