The main aim of this research was to investigate four Humour styles, affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating Humour, and compare these with emotional perception. Forty-eight persons took part in the research, 27 women and 21 men living in the southern part of Sweden. Two Humour tests were used: the Humour Scale Questionnaire ? HSQ, with 32 items, and a newly composed video test, assembled after pilot testing from 26 video clips, the Humour Video Questionnaire ? HVQ. To measure perception and interpretation of emotion, the revised version of the ?Reading the Mind in the Eyes? Test was used.

AbstractThe main aim of this study was to investigate if four Humour styles, affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating Humour can be related to all five dimensions of the Big Five Factor Model of personality and study if gender has any influence on those relation-ships. A survey questionnaire was distributed among 72 individuals from Kalmar County, in the South-east of Sweden. There were 42 women and 30 men. A Humour test questionnaire, Humour Scale Questionnaire (HSQ), with 32 items was used and the Big Five Factor test with 40 items was used for personality test. The results showed that men have a more aggressive Humour than women and that the older we get the less affiliative and self-enhancing Humour we have.

Abstract This essay is written to answer the questions of why, how and against who employees in the service sector use Humour, charm and flirt in the interaction with their customers. The service management research is quite extensive, but despite this the research partly misses studies around why employees tend to act in certain ways while interacting with their customers. To understand the reasons of why they act in these particular ways, we need to know which factors that can be crucial when it comes to the employees? behaviour in these situations. By knowing the underlying reasons of using a special way to communicate with customers, it is much easier to achieve a clearer overview of the subject.

Abstract på svenska: Bakgrund: Studier har visat att humor är en betydelsefull faktor inom hälso- och sjukvård och att olika former av humor kan skapa en känsla av välbefinnande. I interaktionen mellan patienter och sjuksköterskor har skratt och humor visat sig ge positiva effekter vad det gäller att skapa en avslappnad atmosfär. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa humors betydelse i mötet mellan patienter och sjuksköterskor. Metod: Studien är en systematisk litteraturstudie som baseras på 8 utvalda och granskade artiklar. Resultat: Sex huvudkategorier framkom under artikelanalysen, Humorns betydelse för mötet mellan patienter och sjuksköterskor, Humor som copingstrategi för patienter och sjuksköterskor, Humor som försvarsmekanism, Sjuksköterskors användning av humor i mötet med patienter, Humor som arbetsredskap i komplicerade omvårdnadssituationer samt Vid vilka möten bör humor undvikas.

This thesis deals with young people´s attitudes towards advertising on Facebook, which type they prefer and how it should be presented. The purpose of the essay is to offer advertisers a better knowledge concerning the Facebook users advertising preferences. This knowledge can be used to produce advertising with a higher chance of acceptance among Facebook users. The results have been collected by a quantitative survey and they are presented in statistic form. One of the main results was that young people wanted a more individual adapted type of advertising.

The fat body is often constructed as "matter out of place", more or less expected to be invisiable in public spaces. But living with a fat body isnt all about assimilation, wearing black clothes to fit in or staying at home in fear of facing comments of your body. More than being a body constructed as improperiate in public spaces, the participants view can be described as "revolting".

In this paper two translators of Natsume Soseki's "Botchan" by Matt Treyvaud (2009) and Joel R. Cohn (2005) are compared with each other and with the original. Yoko Hasegawa's "The Routledge Course in Japanese Translation" (2012), Peter Newmark's "A Textbook of Translation" (1988) and "Approaches to Translation (1981) are used as the methodological foundation. Kyoko Omori's paper "Problems in English translations of Japanese literature: A study of Natsume Omori's "Botchan" and "Kokoro" (1996)" was used when choosing which old-fashioned language that lies the closest to that of the original, but fails to convey much of the Humour; while Treyvaud's translation conveys the humorous tones of the original but has made frequent mistakes not agreed upon as the correct way of translating into English..

This essay is an investigation that aims to increase the understanding regarding the opinions of what skills a teacher who works with pupils that are in need of special support ought to have. I have also tried to answer the question: How to be a good teacher?The investigation is carried out as a qualitative interview survey, where three women from three different municipalities have explained, how they want pedagogues to work with pupils that are in need of special support.The investigation shows that an accurate personality within the pedagogue plays an important part when accomplishing a positive development. Knowledge of various subjects combined with a specialized pedagogical education is very important, as well as an ability of understanding when it comes to different kinds of functional disorders.Other positive qualities a teacher should have could be the following: to be structured, calm, be able to stand stress, have patience, be a good listener, be emphatic and have a good sense of Humour.The investigation also shows that teachers who are confident with themselves have a lot to gain in their profession. The final quality worth mentioning is, when you as a professional dare to be without prestige.

In this thesis I investigate aesthetic preference for picture books among children aged 3?6 as well as criteria for preference among parents. Through my design project: illustration of a picture book, I aim to put my research on preference in the context of illustration and design. By using the design project as an applied method for research I have sought to answer how one as an illustrator can apply knowledge regarding preferences of the target groups when illustrating for picture books. I have primarily based my research within the field of cognitive developmental psychology, with primary focus on stage theory, and the field of literature.

Humor kan vara en gratis medicin som rätt anpassad kan ha positiva effekter på patienten som att lindra smärta, ge avslappning och hjälpa patienten att skapa distans till svårigheter. Trots det inbjuder sällan sjuksköterskan till humor med patienten i omvårdnadsarbetet. Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskans möjligheter till och användning av humor i omvårdnadsarbetet. Metod för fördjupningsarbetet var en allmän litteraturstudie baserad på 11 kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar.

The thesis contains mainly personal experiences relating to classical piano improvisation, based on the CD record Härlig är jorden, Piano improvisations in Various Classical Styles. Sex classics: Mozart, Stravinsky, Bartók, Chopin, Debussy and Liszt play the main roles in that record.The idea is (apart from aiming at stimulationg the styles as faithfully as possible) to look at the various classical styles as different musical rooms created by the composers for us to enter and use. It is also a personal pedagogical goal to structure my ideas, including formulating the strongest possible requirements on the quality of my improvisations. A leading theme manifesting itself in different quises (depending on the style used) is not only a means for improving quality further. The audience has shown a great interest in this form.
