For centuries, the human body has been used as a mean to project the norms, moral values and aesthetic preferences that exist throughout society. It has been controlled through constrictive fashion, family and social virtues and through how we perceive gender and sexuality. This essay strives to show, not only how the body and the aesthetic values coexist, but also how they work together and influence each other, with the body as the aesthetic medium. To do this, Michel Foucault?s writings of sexuality and his theories on morality and discipline, as well as Judith Butler?s works on normativity and performativity are being used.

All new households were to be constructed with "near zero energy house standards" (NZE-house) by the year of 2020. The ambition to construct energy-efficient buildings had to increase rapidly in the spring of 2013.The purpose of this report was to increase the interest for building contractors to construct apartment buildings with passive house standards. By locating and evaluating experiences from an existing passive house a case study including interviews, field visits and document analysis was made. Research of literature regarding other passive houses in Sweden also helped to answer the following questions:- What positive and negative experiences have the study of the passive house meant to the involved stakeholders and residents?- What improvements can be made based on identified experiences?- How can an apartment building be designed as a passive house based on possible improvements?By collecting good and bad experiences, as well as improvements and potential design proposals, a diagram was created designed as a tool for developers when constructing apartment buildings with passive house standards.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to give an overview of the evidence for genomic imprinting in livestock and other mammals as well as outline the potential use of gene imprinting in livestock breeding. Epigenetics is the mitotical and meiotical partial hereditary variation in genomic activity without any alterations of the DNA sequence. An example of epigenetic regulation is genomic imprinting where one allele?s expression differs depending on which parent it was inherited from. These parent-of-origin effects are currently overlooked in livestock production.

This is a comparative case study with four ideal types.

The aim for this study where to investigate the frequency of cutting cracks in saw timber harvested in the storm-damaged forests in regions where the storms Hilde and Ivar hit. The idea for this work came from one of the region?s biggest actors, SCA Skog and Jämtlands district. The purpose where to find out how big proportion of the saw timber that contains cutting cracks, their financial cost in lost wood value and also give advice and suggestions on how to work against the frequency of cutting cracks. For the field-study some guidelines where used to make sure that the samples were taken under the same conditions, they were: ? The field-study must be performed under harvesting of storm-felled forest, which are horizontal/inclined trunks. ? The averaged sized tree will make it possible to harvest saw timber. ? The trunks can?t be root cut. A methodology called in Swedish ?Trissmetoden? was used because it is the most frequent used methodology in earlier performed studies and the only one that can be used I field. Under the field-study data were collected from 570 saw timber logs, 30 logs from each one of the tested harvesters.

Norrbottens Läns Landsting (NLL) har årligen höga energikostnader fördelat på ett stort fastighetsbestånd. För att undersöka om energikostnaderna kan sänkas bör energiutredningar utföras. Genom att utföra en energiutredning på en fastighet uppdagas om möjlighet till energibesparingar finns och vilka åtgärder som kan utföras. I samråd med Dan Sundén fastighetsförvaltare på NLL, Division Service Fastigheter, begränsades denna energiutredning till att omfatta Björkskatans och Hertsöns vårdcentraler. Syftet med examensarbetet var att utreda vilka möjliga energibesparingsåtgärder NLL kan genomföra på Björkskatans och Hertsöns vårdcentraler.

Studien inriktar sig på att inventera vilka olika metoder som i dag finns på marknaden för hantering av skut. Utöver detta så har även en idéstudie gjorts för att ta fram förslag på hur LKAB eventuellt skulle kunna utforma en annan skuthanteringsanläggning. Idag hanteras skuten på produktionsområden på skutgaller som är beläget ovanför slasen och med en fjärrstyrd skutknackare på sidan. Gallret består av två öppningar med en balk mellan, måtten på vardera öppningen är 1,1x1,2 meter. För att ta reda på om potential finns för att ändra skuthanteringen i LKAB har data samlats in från fjärrlastningen om skutfrekvens, skutstorlek och andelen skut av malm i förhållande till gråberg.

For a long time, economic activity has decreased and shows a downward trend in the food sector. To break this requires efforts to strengthen corporate position with the ability to meet market challenges. In the small producers is a great potential for them to be able to increase its profitability thanks to its ability to offer added value in the product. But to achieve this requires not only a willingness and creativity out of the ordinary but also factors that lead us into this report, current issues. The issues are related to marketing, brand building and the importance of developing a stable network. The study aims to investigate how small businesses operate in rural areas are experiencing the possibilities of support from various networks and organizations and that, from a business perspective, and also see which areas that they need more support in to achieve a growing business. The work has been followed by an inductive method, when we initially could not say anything about the empirical results.

Bakgrund: Inom neonatal intensivvård vårdas ofta barn med ventilator. Isärkoppling av ventilatorkretsen kan orsaka negativ lungpåverkan men kan vara nödvändig utifrån säkerhetsaspekter. Syfte: Att beskriva förekomsten av isärkopplingar av ventilatorkretsen vid omvårdnadsrelaterade lägesförändringar hos barn som vårdas på en neonatal intensivvårdsavdelning. Syftet var även att beskriva vårdpersonals anledningar till att ventilatorkretsen kopplas isär eller hålls sluten samt att identifiera om förbättringar i området skulle kunna göras. Metod: Enkätstudie med kvantitativa beskrivningar och kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

This report was written by Lisa Bengtson and Hanna Paradis and describes the degree thesis "Environmental impacts of solid waste treatment in the Metropolitan Region, Santiago, Chile ? a comparison between current system and incineration with energy recovery". The purpose of this thesis was to investigate if incineration with energy recovery could be motivated through an environmental perspective as an alternative to landfilling of solid waste in Santiago, Chile. The study was performed with Life Cycle Analysis as a theoretical base. In Santiago, situated in the thirteenth region of Chile, Región Metropolitana, lives 6,5 million inhabitants. The major part of the solid waste produced in the region is landfilled on three different sanitary controlled landfills situated outside the city center.

Idén om att kunna utnyttja ett växthus till att skapa ett lokalt mikroklimat kring en byggnad är inte ny, redan 1976 byggdes en sådan villa ute i Saltsjöbaden utanför Stockholm. Där byggdes ett hus inuti ett växthus, och det finns även andra exempel från Sverige och utlandet. Det är däremot ingen vidare utbredd byggnadslösning utan det är endast ett fåtal byggnader som är byggda enligt den principen. Tanken är att glasbyggnaden som omsluter den inre byggnaden ska ge varmare temperaturer runt huset och därmed minska byggnadens värmebehov. I detta examensarbete har en byggnad innesluten i en glasbyggnad simulerats i simuleringsprogrammet IDA ICE 4.21. Modellen ska gestalta principen och är inte baserad på en existerande byggnad.

This is achieved by reducing loss of heat through the buildingenvelope and to take advantage of the passive heat from solar radiation,installation and heat sources like people living in the house.This project has been made with help of Anebyhus and one of their model houseshave been examined from the report?s issues, including Anebyhus?s energyperformance, requirements for the manufacturing and assembly, how theenvelope must be improved to fulfill the requirements for the Passive House andwhat energy calculation programs are available on the market.The report aims to provide solutions for energy efficient houses that are adaptedfor production of house building.Two visits to Anebyhus has been done to study their manufacture and assemblyof building elements.
